MATH 2200

CALCULUS 1 (UW) 4 credits

Prerequisites:

ACT math score of 27 or higher or

math placement test (COMPASS) score of 5 or
passing grade in Pre-Calculus
*College credit (since this is a semester class that we teach over the
whole year) we will register in January for the UW creditthe cost is $200
for the 4 credits. Checks must be made out to UW.

Classroom Hours: I will be available before school 8:00-8:25 and during

lunch. For additional help you will need to make arrangements with me.
** Note: You will be required to attend homeroom if your grade drops below
69.5% (C-).
Course Description: Topics covered are functions and models, limits and
derivatives, Rules of differentiation, applications of differentiation, and
integration.
Class Materials: Graphing Calculator a TI-85 or TI-86 or TI-83 is
recommended. Notebook, pencil
Grading:
10% Homework
80% Exams 4 Exams worth 20% each
10% Gateway Test this is a 10 question test on
derivatives. No calculators or notes are allowed and you
must get 9 out of 10 to pass it. You have to take this as
many times as it takes for you to pass.
