adjacent to existing YMCA Camp Woodstock allows facilities to not only serve guests independently, but also support and enhance neighboring camp guests and activities. the design serves as a model for other non-profit camps providing considerations for joint relationships which will deeply augment such locations in need of revitalization.

multi-functional eco-retreat center. agon combines conference facilities, restaurant and guest suites to accommodate local and international use for life, work and leisure creative conferencing, corporate training, private party bookings, and recreational retreats. every element nurtures inspired collaboration and experiential education, because learning never ceases and neither should innovative design.

As an eco-retreat center, agon embodies the intentional contrast represented by the word itself; capturing the raw energy of opposing forces and consequently fusing diversities. This fusion is evident within the facilities design aesthetic wildly divergent yet in harmony with its surrounding element. This fusion becomes apparent among the collection of inhabitants stunningly diverse but parallel in enthusiasm. And this fusion grows palpable through an experience based on the essence of sustaining a resistance toward complacency. It is not about conflict but rather the brilliance achieved in spite of it.

perpendicular axes create a solid core, small footprint, and extensive cantilevered wings for a total square footage of 67,500 square feet of building that maintain a light touch on the earth. a massive amphitheater on the main level anchors the buildings mass and the bulky structural supports become integrated as a design feature.

agons third level experiences the sensation of a suspended vertigo - floating amidst Connecticuts dense forests. a physically ascent within the building presents a similar emotional and cognitive elevation; level 3 being the apex of creative generation and stimulating experience. the nest - perched out beyond the stretch of the building - appears to be delicately balanced on two structural columns, mimicking a birds nest situated on a branch.

chocolate symphony an experience that encases customers in a delicious boutique derived from the melody of flavor and sensation

By composing the new Godiva environment in a lyrical way, the design will orchestrate a physical, emotional, and cognitive experience synchronized with the idea of song. An intentional and rhythmic design aesthetic provides the same divine proportion that can be found within Beethovens 5th Symphony and creates the undeniably alluring quality embodied in Lady Godiva herself. Delicate shapes, contrasting materials and fluid functionality of the space draw from the instruments which inspire the design. Material selections speak to the art of music - metals reverberate against wood, glass adjacent plaster, and textiles scattered throughout. A radial layout mimics the fundamental configuration of an orchestra, providing a sense of fluidity and structured delight within the boutique. Rich sophistication draws a refined demographic and entices even the most novice Godiva consumer. Mush like a crescendo, this experience of a chocolate symphony inspired the gradual evolution of heightened excitement as customers move inward with every element pouring into a truly theatrical experience.

Balance Point provides a holistic approach by integrating traditional and nontraditional methodologies to create an equilibrium of wellness. Clients regain balance and maintain a healthy lifestyle by continually replenishing ones energy to their own personal physical, mental, and emotional environment. Traditional testing and treatments along with alternative methods - art, dance, music, visual therapy, yoga and gardening practices - foster discovery and fulfill life-cycle health goals. This approach handles a variety of mental health issues and addresses community needs. Group therapy and stress management sessions actively connect people while privacy and security remain a priority.

Alchemy is a multi-use space meant to display and inspire creativity. The runway will act as an exhibition place for up-and-coming designers to showcase their collections - womens and mens clothing, shoes, and accessories - which will then be displayed and sold on the sales floor. Dressing rooms will double as changing rooms for models and light-weight moveable shelving will open up the storage space to create a backstage work area. The self-service bar will be a hip spot to grab a quick cappuccino while browsing the shop or even offer a moody lounge for locals to gather for social and creative collaboration. c

Liquid Loft italian barn residence 1,490 sf

Nestled in the hills of Sienna, Italy, this historic preservation is fully inspired by ancient roman gardens and the presence of water water being essential to life and living. A Roman home was built around the presence of water and this modern loft is no different. Straight lines. Clear elements. Translucence, The delicate refraction of light. Changes in levels and seamless finishes mimic the effortless flow of water as the loft becomes lost among the liquid depths.
