A run-of-the-mill, plain-vanilla, everyday pro-choicer is bad enough. But when a prochoicer is rich and famous and develops a sense of entitlement, peoples very lives are in danger.

Fernandes das Dores de Souza (Bruno) was the star goalkeeper of Flamengo, Brazils most popular football team (Americans call this soccer), which was followed by an estimated 33 million fans. He was married, but, being pro-choice, this didnt stop him from having plenty of girlfriends on the side. In fact, he also participated in orgies. In October 2009, one of his girlfriends, Eliza Samudio, told him that she was pregnant by him, a result of one of these orgies, so Souza decided to handle things the pro-choice way, instead of facing responsibility for his actions. He kidnapped Eliza, assaulted her, and forced her to take abortifacient drugs in an attempt to kill her child. Fortunately, her preborn child survived, and she gave birth in February 2010. She reported Souza to police, and they arrested him. In December 2010, Souza was convicted of private imprisonment, bodily harm, and illegal constraint, and was sentenced to 54 months in prison. In his ruling, Judge Marco Couto publicly shamed and denounced Souza, saying that having met the victim at a particular event [an orgy] and opting for irresponsible sex, it was not proper for him to carry out the role he played upon learning of the pregnancy of the victim. To his cowardice, then, a proper penal response is imposed. It is true that the accused has does not have [a record of] previous offenses. But his personality, based on what we have seen, revealed itself to be criminal. But Souza had his revenge. He certainly did. After Eliza gave birth to her child, she pressured Souza for a DNA-based paternity test in May 2010. Then, the following month, she simply vanished from the face of the earth. Souza, with the assistance of his wife and family member, took Eliza to his home in the State of Minas Garais, where the held her against her will. Then one of Souzas friends strangled her. Then Souza and his friends chopped up her body, buried part of it under concrete, and fed the rest to his Rottweilers. Elizas four-month-old son was found alive in the house of strangers living nearby in the

town. During the following police investigation, detectives found blood belonging to Eliza in Souzas car. They charged Souza with Elizas murder. The lead investigator on the case, Edson Moreira, said that Bruno is the intellectual mastermind and material author of the crime. He actively participated in the execution of the crime. 1
