News and upcoming events of Primo Kozmus June 2011

Third place in Velenje
Velenje, 28.6. 2011 Velenje hosted a traditionally biggest meeting EEA meeting in Slovenia. The best Slovenian athlete Kozmus had a difficult task to compete in a strong competition among six competitors with personal best over 80 m. Primo succeeded to make it three times over 75 m (series 71.03; 71.39; 73.74; 75.19; 75.61; 75.16), which put him a meter and a half behind the Hungarian Pars (76.87 m) and about half a meter behind the second Marcus Esser from Germany (76,01). Kozmus said after the competition: It is always nice to compete in Velenje, the organisation is at the top level and the spectators always prepare a great atmosphere. I'm satisfied that the competition was quite even and I wasn't much behind. But there's much work to do before the the World Championships and the focus in July will be on preparations.

Gradually improving results

Celje, 8.6.2011 At the international meeting in Celje Primo threw his tool five times over 75 m. He took advantage of good conditions at the athletic field in Celje at the international league meeting and won with a result 77,17 over Ali Al Zenkawi from Kuwait (76,10) and Kristof Nemeth (75,74) from Hungary who were a strong competition during the whole meeting. With this result he set his season's best and strenghtened his optimism. "The throwing ground in Celje is very quick and I already took the advantage of this two years ago when I set the national record. My condition is gradually improving, which in this moment is the most important, said Kozmus.

Summer holidays for children

Sumer sports holidays of Primo Kozmus will be organised in Hostel Kozmus in Brestanica and are intended for children, aged 7-14. Individual activities will be carried out at different locations in Posavje region. The aim of the holidays is to attract as many children as possible to the region and offer them a quality holiday, full of activities in the field of sports, creativity, tourism and languages. European Team Championships

Izmir, 18. 6. 2011 European Team Championships was held in Izmir (Turkey). Slovenian performances were opened by Primo Kozmus, who finished fourth with 72.77 m. The victory as expected went to Hungarian Pars, who achieved the only throw over 80 m (80.14 m) at the competition. Apak from Turkey was second ahead of Henriksen from Norway. "I'm not satisfied with the result. Pars is already in top shape but I cannot be satisfied to be beaten by the Norwegian and Turk. My results vary too much, so I have to work on that said Kozmus.

Breice Running Competition with Primo Kozmus

In the frame of the music festival Breice, my town the first running competition with Primo Kozmus will be held on 1 July 2011. The competition is intended for experienced, as well as for recreation runners and other sports enthusiasts. A separate competition for children will be held. The competitions will be followed by an entertainment programme (bands such as Rock Partyzani and April). The festival will continue on the following day, and the participants will be able to test themselves also in hammer throwing with Primo and attend concerts of Tony Cetinski and Maja Keuc. UPCOMING EVENTS
The focus for Primo in July will be on the preparations for the world championshis. Inbetween he plans to attend some competitions in July, starting with Madrid (9. 7.).
