First of all it is important you know that you cannot fail this test. We use the test to understand how much English you know and use, so that we can advise you on what you need to do next. Please do not worry about the test and do your best. Please do not use a dictionary, books or electronic translators or get any help from anyone else. There are 14 pages in total. There is a 1-page instruction sheet, a 9-page grammar and vocabulary test, a 1-page answer sheet, a 1page agreement form and a 2-page needs analysis. It is very important that you keep within the time limits so make sure you have a watch or clock by you when you do the test. On the agreement form, you have to write in the time you start and finish both parts of the test, so please be strict with your time. PART ONE (multiple-choices): There are 100 multiple choice questions on vocabulary and grammar. This should take 60 minutes in total. All you need to do is fax back the answer sheet. PART TWO (English Language Needs Analysis): The need analysis is two pages long and should take you 45 minutes to fill in and do the writing exercise. Again please do not use a dictionary or translator or get anyone to check it for you if you want to reflect your true level of English. If you use any extra sheets of paper, please make sure you fax them or email it to us. When you have finished the test, please fax or email these three things to us on the following fax number (00 44 207 133 2461 or els@londonmet.ac.uk): 1) The need analysis and any extra sheets you have used for the writing. 2) The answer sheet only for Part One. 3) The completed and signed Agreement form. We will contact you about your results and plans after we have checked the test and may need to arrange a telephone interview with you at a later date. Good luck!
