Group Brainstorming Activity (Divergent Thinking)
Goal: generate as many potential areas of
opportunity to improve UO as possible
1. Individually, think about your everyday
experience as a student. On a sheet of paper,
list as many potential areas of improvement as
possible. Dont self-edit - go for quantity.
2. Go around the table and share your ideas.
Dont judge or comment. You may ask clarifying
questions or add to ideas.
Group Discussion (Convergent Thinking)
Goal: narrow the potential areas of improvement to
at least 1 per group member
1. Discuss ideas to see which ones are of most
interest to group members. Remember, no solutions.
2. Discuss how the nal list ts into the categories of
social, cultural, educational or physical development
3. Assign at least one of the areas to members of the
team to conduct more research
