CINDERELLA Cinderella wants to go to another ball, but her wicked stepmother won't let her. As Cinderella sits crying in the garden, her fairy godmother appears, and promises to provide Cinderella with everything she needs to go to the ball, but only on two conditions. "First, you must wear a diaphragm." Cinderella agrees "What's the second

condition?" "You must be home by 2 a.m. Any later, and your diaphragm will turn into a pumpkin." Cinderella agrees to be home by 2 a.m. The appointed hour comes and goes, and Cinderella doesn't show up. Finally, at 5 a.m.,Cinderella shows up, looking love-struck and very satisfied. "Where have you been?" demands the fairy godmother. "I met a prince, Fairy Godmother. He took care of everything." "I know of no prince with that kind of power! Tell me his name! "I can't remember, exactly ...'Peter Peter' something

ask the computer...

One day Bill complained to his friend, "My elbow really hurts, I guess I should see a doctor."His friend said, "Don't do that. There's a computer at the drug store that can diagnose anything quicker and cheaper than a doctor. Just put in a sample of your urine and the computer will diagnose your problem and tell you what you can do about it. It only costs ten dollars." Bill figured he had nothing to lose, so he filled a jar with a urine sample and went to the drug store. Finding the computer, he poured in the sample and deposited the $10. The computer started making some noise and various lights started flashing. After a brief pause out popped a small slip of paper on which was

10

printed: You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water. Avoid heavy lifting. It will be better in two weeks. Late that evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was and how it would change medical science forever, he began to wonder if this machine could be fooled. He decided to give it a try. He mixed together some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, and urine samples from his wife and daughter. To top it off, he masturbated into the concoction. He went back to the drug store, located the machine, poured in the sample, and deposited the $10. The computer made the usual noise and printed out the following message: Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener. Your dog has worms. Get him vitamins. Your daughter is using cocaine. Put her in a rehabilitation clinic. Your wife is pregnant with twin girls. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer. And if you don't stop jerking off, your tennis elbow will never get better.

Homemade Bath Salts and Decorative Glass Jars

Designed by Jane Lake These four fragrant bath salts recipes are easy to make and inexpensive, yet they look like a purchased gift from an exclusive spa with our free printable jar labels. These bath salts recipes are ideal to give as homemade gifts in a jar, combining the soothing mineral essence of bath salts with aromatherapy for a tranquil at-home bathing experience. Don't forget to pamper yourself with the aromatherapy fragrance that suits you best!

12

Just follow our directions to decorate four recycled glass jars with free printable labels for the front and back of each jar, like the gift in a jar bottles shown: (left to right) Mandarin Orange Bath Salts, Lavender Bath Salts, Bath Salts from the Sea and Patchouli Bath Salts. What You Will Need:
For the Bath Salts Recipes -

epsom salts or sea salt, or both food coloring 1 or 2 teaspoons of glycerin per jar - optional, but glycerin is an effective skin moisturizer and a nice addition essential oils - mandarin orange, lavender, sandalwood, and patchouli For the Decorative Glass Jars four glass jars printable jar labels scissors and glue assorted embellishments, including several yards of orange or peach colored ribbon, small amount of lavender or mauve ribbon, ecru or white doily, raffia, tacky glue and household twine General Instructions: 1. Collect your jars, remove labels, then wash and dry thoroughly.

13

2. For most bath salts recipes you can use your choice of epsom salts or sea salt, or a combination of these. I used to like adding a tablespoon or two of baking soda as well, until I read about jars of bath salts that had exploded because of baking soda reacting to moisture inside the jar. One good mix is one cup of epsom salts, with 1/4 cup of sea salt but a little more or less of each ingredient is fine for most bath salts. Epsom salts and sea salt are soothing for tired muscles, while both will gently soften the water for a luxurious bath experience. You could also add a tablespoon or two of finely ground regular oatmeal (not quick cooking) for silky, skin-softening water. 3. Fill each jar to the top with the combination of bath salts that you plan to use. Empty the salts into a mixing jar and add a drop or two of glycerin, if using. Add your choice of essential oil - how many drops you use is a personal preference, but start with two or three drops and see if you like the fragrance. The same goes for the liquid food coloring; sometimes I use quite a few drops of food color to get the strong hue that I like, but so far it hasn't stained the bath tub or anyone's skin. Remember that the color and fragrance will be much diluted in the bath water. Stir the salts vigorously until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. For specific aromatherapy bath salts recipes, and how to decorate each jar, please see the individual instructions that follow:

Mandarin Orange Bath Salts: I used a small canning jar for this project, with a screw top one piece lid. I also used only epsom salts, adding about six drops of mandarin essential oil and about six drops of orange food color. The lid is decorated with 1/2" orange ribbon, cut in strips to cover the top. Coat the lid with tacky glue and lay the first strip going across the middle of the lid and extending over the rim just a little on both sides. Add ribbon strips on either side, each one overlapping just a little, until the top of the lid is covered. Take another strip and glue it around the lid rim,

14

covering the edges of the top ribbons. Overlap the ends of the lid rim strip and glue down firmly. Cover these ends by making a small bow, then gluing it in place. Screw the ribbon lid in place securely. Print out our free Mandarin Orange Bath Salts Labels and glue the front label centered beneath the ribbon bow, with the other label being glued to the back of the jar.

Lavender Bath Salts: I used 1 cup of epsom salts and half a cup of sea salt for this, adding about 8 drops of lavender. (This one was for me, and I adore lavender - it made the bathroom smell heavenly!) Adjust the fragrance, just adding one or two drops at a time until you're happy with it. Lavender is a difficult color to achieve with food coloring, I found, but I managed to get a lavender color that I liked by using far more red than blue. To decorate the jar, thread lavender ribbon through the openings in an ecru doily, tie in place and make a bow. If this isn't possible, use a rubber band to secure the doily in place, then tie the ribbon over it. Print and cut out our free Lavender Bath Salts Labels then glue in place to finish the jar.

Bath Salts from the Sea: Use only sea salt - either fine or coarse, or a combination of both, for this recipe. Add an essential oil that reminds you of the sea - I used sandalwood. A drop of eucalyptus might enhance this mixture. Jasmine would also work well. Add drops of blue food coloring, if desired, either to all the mixture, or just half, so you can funnel white and blue layers into the jar. For the nautical rope decoration, take 3 lengths of household twine, each

15

about 3 feet long and braid them together. Coat the jar lid with tacky glue and, in the middle of the lid, start twisting the braid around itself in a spiral, pushing the flat side of the braid firmly into the glue. Go right over the lid edge and around the rim, adding extra glue to secure the end. Make another braid to decorate the bottom of the jar in similar fashion. Take this braid up the jar about an inch or so, then secure the end at the back of the jar. Print out our Bath Salts from the Sea Gift Jar Labels, coat with glue and stick firmly to the front and back of the bottle. Take a single strand of twine and glue it around the front label. Tie another single strand of twine in a bow around the neck of the bottle.

Patchouli Bath Salts Recipe: Patchouli oil has a sensual woodsy aroma, valued for its tranquil calming effect and long-lasting intense fragrance. Add sparingly to epsom salts, sea salt, or a combination of both. Color the bath salts green with food coloring, add glycerin, if using, and bottle. The rope decoration is simple. Just coat the jar lid with tacky glue and begin to spiral a single strand of household twine around the top and down the sides of the lid. Do the same at the bottom of the jar, bringing the twine up the jar to a depth of about an inch. You can use extra glue on top of the twine if it is necessary to make it secure; the twine absorbs the glue, which then dries clear. Fashion the handle by tying a double strand of twine tightly around the neck of the jar, then twist the strands loosely together, looping them over the lid top, and back to the other side to knot in place. Print our Patchouli Bath Salts Gift Jar Label and glue to front and back of the jar to finish.

How to Make Unique Wedding Candle Favors

How to Make Unique Wedding Candle Favors

by Anna Hart When your grandparents married, the idea of creating unique wedding candle favors as a project may have crossed the bride's mind, but weddings were simpler, then. Wedding favors were often nothing more than sugar-coated almond candies. The candies were traditional, and many brides went with tradition. Today's bride has a wealth of ideas from which to choose - and yet, because the same ideas are so readily available via the Internet, many brides want something different. They want wedding favors that aren't like everyone else's. Some want to get together with friends and spend a day crafting wedding favors.

17

That's where creating unique wedding candle favors as a project comes in. Picture yourself with your friends, tables piled high with lovely supplies. You load the CD player as everyone gathers around the table, and then settle down for an enjoyable day of chatting, listening to music, and creating your own unique wedding candle favors.

British Wedding Candle Favors

A nostalgic wedding candle favor with a "tea for two" theme can be created using "British" teacups with saucers. Search online for mini teacups and saucers. Several toy teacup and saucer sets are available. Choose antique white or flowered teacups with saucers. Place a tea candle in each cup, add a bow and card to the handle, and your wedding candle favor is ready. Centerpieces for your tables could be arranged in teapots.

Dutch Wedding Candle Favors

Something old, something blue ... What better for unique wedding candle favors than Delft "Blue" with an "old" theme like a clog? An online search will turn up ceramic mini Dutch shoes with windmill or other design painted on them in Delft Blue. Purchase pairs to cut costs, and separate the shoes for your project. Place a penny in the bottom of each shoe. Then insert a small, white tea candle. Use thin, sheer ribbon to tie on a printed tag with the traditional rhyme: "Something old, something new; Something borrowed, something blue; And a penny in her shoe." Add a brief explanation: "The theme is old, the favor is new; I borrowed the rhyme, the shoe is blue. Look for a penny

18

in the shoe."

Eggs-actly Affordable Wedding Candle Favors

The bride who wants to inject humor can create unique wedding candle favors with ceramic egg cups. Oriental Trading Company online offers "paint-your-own" ceramic egg cups at $6.95 per dozen. The white egg cups can be painted to match your wedding color scheme, in flowers or other motif. Fill with wax and a wick, or insert a tea candle. (Oriental Trading has candle-making wax kits, too.) Tie a bow around the base of the egg cup, attaching a place card or small thank you.

Oriental Wedding Candle Favors,

Creating unique wedding candle favors as a project is a good way to carry out an oriental wedding theme. The trick is to think of oriental objects that can hold a candle. The most obvious, of course, is an oriental tea cup - tall and narrow, with handle and lid. These can be expensive, but low cost cups are also available, especially if you work with a wholesale company. Choose a pretty pattern, insert a candle, and put the lid on it. Tie your place card to the handle with a pretty ribbon.

Spring Wedding Candle Favors

A spring idea for creating unique wedding candle favors as a project is to begin with tulip bouquet candles, available online from Lillian Vernon. These come in sets of 3: pink, yellow, and lilac bouquets. Use white and silver ribbon to tie a place card to each tulip bouquet and you're done. For

19

a whimsical touch, a note about "two lips" could be added to the card. These wedding candle favors are perfect for a spring wedding, especially with tulip centerpieces.

Tropical Wedding Candle Favors

A favorite tropical flower is the hibiscus, and floating hibiscus blossoms can be a quick way of creating unique wedding candle favors as a project for bride and bridesmaids. Begin with clear plastic dessert dishes 3" to 4" in diameter. Choose dishes with a short stem. Tie a ribbon around the stem of the dish, looping it through your place card. Fill each dish 1/2 full with water, and place a hibiscus floating candle in each. Candles are available online.

Seashore Wedding Candle Favors

You can create unique wedding candle favors for a seaside wedding using materials at hand. Order white, 13-hour votive candles from a bulk pillar candle supplier online. Purchase small plastic coasters, and pastel ribbon to match your wedding color scheme. Glue a candle in the center of each coaster. Glue a layer of sand around it. Make the sand come up over the bottom of the candle in an uneven pattern. Glue tiny seashells to the candles, and then tie with a bow, attaching your place card with the ribbon. Involve Everyone Creating unique wedding candle favors is a project in which you can involve nearly everyone in the family. You can create your favors all in one day, or do a few at a time. You may not use one of these ideas exactly as

20

is, but perhaps the ideas given will spark your imagination. The important thing is that you like the favors you create, and that they reflect your personality and interests. This is your day. Make it uniquely you in every way.

European Heathenism By El Chupacabra

There are Asatruar and Odinists who religiously follow the Eddas, which is fine if your roots are Norse. However, the Norse actually only make a part of the Germanic diaspora. Rather, the term Germanic refers to a general similarity in language and culture, and not some superior racial distinction as fanatics have tried to suggest. The dominance of the R haplogroup was largely due to its mobility; namely, less chances of inbreeding than isolated groups. Thus, there were several subclaves that diverged from that haplogroup with the inundation of the Black Sea. One dispersed into the Baltic and Scandinavia, whereas another found easy passage up the Danube, deep into continental Europe; mixing with other haplogroups along the way - albeit through trade or invasion. Thus, by the time they emerged as the Celtic and Germanic cultures, they had become so intermixed, its hard to say who had the greater influence in the long run. More often than not, they simply coexisted, adapting each others ideas wherever convenient. Even the mythical cycles of Ireland give clue to the countless invasions and

33

migrations by various tribes and clans. In essence, the Eddas are not enough to cover the complex history of our colorful ancestry and heritage. The fact is, many of us in central Europe are just as much Celtic as we are Germanic. Thus, all ancient European folklore is important in completing that bigger picture. What is common in European heathenry is the preservation of ones ancestral memory, a deep respect for the spirits of the land, and the cultural heritage born out of its providence. That does not necessarily mean living exactly as they did, but understanding what it takes to survive the impossible odds. Both Celtic and Germanic beliefs and oral traditions find their roots in early tribal shamanism. In that respect the roles of Cernunnos and Odin in their otherworldly journey seem almost synonymous. What remains scarcely recognizable after Christianity took over is the female shamanic role, that in most parts was replaced by the veiled holy Mary; but her original role is still very much alive in the folklore of Holda, Holle and Berchta. Mysterious, however, are the origins of Loki, as his trickster figure can only be traced back to 9th Century Scandinavian literature. Other than in the character of Rubezahl, the trickster figure seems strangely absent from German folklore. On the other hand, Wotan and Holle both appear as trickster figures in early German oral traditions, in fact Rbezahl , symbolically depicted with stag horns, appears almost synonymous with the idea. Unlike Loki, however, these figures not only dispense mischief but retribution for any cruel injustice amongst its folk. It makes you wonder if Loki was contrived from Odins trickster attributes by Christian monks to parallel the biblical struggles between the divine father and his nemesis Satan. Indeed, monks around Europe were in the habit of rewriting local folklore into this general theme, by order of the Papacy. Fortunately, not every language could be adapted to latin, nor were the common folk literate enough to read. Thus, many oral traditions were able to discretely survive through this lack of comprehension, especially in Germany. Although Martin Luthers demands to change this, brought about the extermination of several movement esoteric movements, these were largely based on the hermetical mysteries of the Levant and not the old Germanic practices. In fact, by this time many of the local traditions were

34

deeply imbedded in Catholicism and relatively unchanged due to their agrarian importance. Rather it was more the puritanical beliefs of the Lutherans that now threatened to eliminate this colorful ancient heritage. Fortunately it turned more into a rebellion of enterprising young merchants against their profligate feudal lords. In the end, the puritanical got shipped off to the new world, allowing Europe to finally improve the quality of life and culture on all levels. Thus, it is in the nature of the European heathen to take all aspects of this history into consideration as par to ones heritage, while finding the necessary balance with nature to insure a healthy continuity. We aspire to be a critical folk, not inclined to take things for face value. Despite popular belief, we do not take our oral traditions for gospel, rather, understand them as allegories of ancestral memory. While our ancestral spirits may be revered as divinities they are not regarded as any less fallible or prone to whims as anything else in the great web of existence. Life is the great experiment, and while we are born with attributes of a certain predestiny (rlog) it is our own individual responsibility to learn and deal with whatever curves fate may throw at us (wyrd). We may believe in reincarnation, but tend to regard this existence as only one of many alternate realities possible in the multiversal continuum. For this reason we tend to be pantheistic, innovative and generally quite brazen, enjoying a good time wherever we can. We do not believe in absolutes, rather, that there is a time and place for everything. Be well and pass the mead.

#1 Why Are Herbs Used in Magick? Herbs are used in magick for their "vibrations" or "essences". What does this mean? Herbs, like people, have gender, are ruled by a planet, an element, and are often sacred to a God or Goddess. This is known in Wicca as the herbal correspondence, and it is an important element in Wiccan Magick Spells. Growing and nurturing herbs in your own magickal garden can give you the advantage of having your own energies already influencing the plant. A plant such as Angelica, ruled by the Sun, will then have all of the influence of the Sun and fire, along with your personal energies.

Wiccan Ways to use Herbs Charms and sachets - Fill a small bag, of the correct color or material, with herbs to make a charm or sachet. You can carry the charm with you,

36

hang it in the house or car, or bury or burn it, depending on the purpose, and the spell you are performing. Incense- Herbs can be burned as a ritual incense, such as the sage smudge used to clear negative vibrations from a space. Bath - Make a sachet, and place it in your ritual or healing bath. Fragrant herbs like lavender make a very relaxing bath, and you can use certain herbs to alleviate skin and other conditions, such as using eucalyptus in a bath when you have a cold or flu. Oils - Place herbs in an oil, let them steep for a few days, then strain. You can make anointing oils for you ritual work, beauty oils for your hair, skin and nails (try coconut or jojoba), or flavor oils for cooking and seasoning, such as steeping rosemary in olive oil. Teas- Use herbs to make teas for healing illness. Some herbs can be used to mildly alter consciousness, such as valerian or kava kava which can facilitate trance like states. Smoking- You can make herbal smoking mixtures which will also facilitate altered states of consciousness. In spellwork, herbs can be sprinkled or placed around or within boundaries (such as your home, altar, or magick circle) to define a "territory" for your magick to work. Of course, you can always use flavorful herbs in cooking and seasoning your food. There are many healthful benefits, and they taste great! Always give all plant life respect, where ever you areremember, the word "weed" is simply a value judgement! Dandelion, for instance, has many, many healing and nutritional qualities which are extremely beneficial not only to the wildlife which feeds on it, but to you, too! Learn to recognize the herbs around you- even in a city, there are many wonderful herbs growing wild, which you can gather and use. Herbs are Nature's gift- use them with wisdom and joy!

In this way you mix your energy with that of the herb to bring forth a desired response / out come for more powerful magical workings. During this process you must tell the herb or plant exactly what its use will be. This is important -- this is the combined focus of you and the spirit of the herb. Below are some ways to achieve this, remember to also pay careful attention to the phase of the Moon and Astrological influences. NEVER work ANY magic when the Moon is void.

Philters are mixtures of herbs and oils that are not ingested or brewed, they can be placed near doors or windows to cleanse or bless a home, aid in bringing about prosperity or any other magical intent. You can also

40

add this mixture to a charm bag to carry or to a glass vial and tape it to the table you use for divination, some examples of herbs for divination are: Mugwort, Catnip & Willow bark.

Cooking herbs can be magically empowered, as well. Garlic is a very healthy plant used for healing magic and Basil brings luck & money. Empowering your herbs will bring about thrice their magical strength.

Teas can also be empowered. Those for restful sleep, such as chamomile, can be charged for pleasant dreams. To fully educate yourself on herbs and plants, search the library. Holistic health magazines and books they are excellent forms of reference. As you work with your herbs you can carve herbal symbols into a brown or green pillar candle And burn pure cleansing herbs such as white sage or pine, recite the herbal chant below to charm you herbs even more. Herb and root seed and flower, bring to me your ancient power. Growing deep from Moon to Moon, mother hear my ancient Rune. Empower and bless by three times three, The magic I seek, so mote it be ~ 2004 Barbara Morris / www.Moonsmuses.com

~Almah, the inward Lake of Lysflower~

As a chrisphallus of the excalibur, across the sky of the mutual banks, in the intimate root of them ... From the calm surface of the water rises - as a common bed the cosmic mirror of some ageless eyelids: As the light with no reflection of an unusual depth, the magna Lady rises from the breast of the earth, as our materly seed. A warm wind blows the face of the called ones: they came from afar, but indeed there are here since always. Only now they look and see the others, just today they recognize each other. ... In the faceless face that make them mutually blind, as the faceless lights they are. Time over time, indistant to each other, the brothers take their own place: the same name they have the one each one different has as their own: Around the liquid mirror, their steps waterly kiss the limits of the water which, like a petalled cup, is the grail in the crystal dawn. They know why they came, all else they do not know so it is, of them all, the empirium and the way what they are they should: Having the rightly walk, the goal they know not, they know but the route and in their hand they have the oar of the nave, Navarka, the vessel of the Mystery with no key, of the veiling of the endless ages only Love pilgrims in their soul, lysflower is the name: the whole that in all them sprouts and shines ... Aspects of Love
It is a question one as old as time what is love? how strong is it? will it make us love or will it make us commit crime Love is power power from the God within from the Lady that stands by our side It is strength It is hope Undescribeable, unknown it is mysterious and yet we all have it. We can feel it through human touch taste it and know it Passion, intensity, trust commitment. Love is all these things. For some unattainable For many a blessing. Some may see it as a curse or some may do things for worse We all agree though Love is all around us a power unseen and whatever we think Real love It sets us free Copyright Bliden 2009

Have I Died and Gone To Heaven

A vision of splendid beauty, An angelic voice singing my heart to rest, With a gentle touch from her lips my soul is set free, As she leads me to new heights filling my heart and soul with love so divine, Letting me see that there is still hopes and dreams left to chase, Your essences is that of the moon and stars, Guiding me with tender love and radiant beauty, A heart that beats with passion and fire, Have I died and gone to heaven? If this is heaven then you are truly no angel but the Goddess divine, All I know and all I feel is that you have made me complete, You have gave me all that I have ever wanted, You are my Angel so pristine, My Goddess so pure and divine, As seasons come and seasons go I know you will always be there by my side. Each day is a new beginning filled with your love and tranquility, Feeding my soul with your strength and loving care, With a gentle touch a lit kiss you put all my fears to rest, The only thing left I can say is I will be there for you for all eternity, Let me stand beside as your loving King for all eternity. Pagan Place Humorous variation of the Last Supper as played by a band of Pagans. Judas (not his real name) was the first to enter and he immediately felt the attention of both servers behind the counter and customers in line. The others in his group had fallen back, once again, he thought, trying to freeze him out. They slowly filed in; groups of two or three wearing robes, sandals, and beards, and soon all twelve stood implacably in line under a hail of gawks and whispers. Even the cooks in their filthy aprons wearing looks of dull Mcshock came out to watch. The lunch break hike up from the Earth Community theater hall where they held rehearsal for a production of Jesus Christ, Super Star had been the same. Cars slowed as the Apostles passed, a few honked or shouted, and pedestrians stopped to watch. Many of them, both cars and people, turned around to follow, and by the time the group reached their destiny they had a throng in tow.

47

The young woman in a cow suit put her sign down when they passed and placed her hooves on her hips. Mary managed a competing fast food chain restaurant and had taken on the bovine promotional task earlier that morning when Randy, once again, had failed to show up. She just knew that the manager of her competitor, also named Mary, was up to some gimmick, and it annoyed her now to see her own place passed over as more and more cars pulled in next door. The spectacle had grown larger every day and was beginning to affect her daily customer count. None of the other Apostles joined Judas in line so he moved into one where Peter was already placing an order. Peter stared hard at the floor as if he wanted to sink into it, and when the counter clerk asked for his order, he mumbled something unintelligible. "Im sorry, sir, could you repeat that? Its just a little noisy in here with all the excitement you and your friends brought in." "Theyre not my friends", Peter whispered. "Im sorry?" Behind him in line, Judas heard John tell Thomas that Christs Subaru had just pulled into the parking lot, and when Thomas went to the window to check, Judas stepped up and took his place in line. Peter repeated to the girl behind the counter, "They are not my friends I dont know them." She cackled and winked at the boy attending the next register. "Yeah, right." Peter, annoyed now, raised his voice. "Look, for the third time, I dont know them."

48

As their orders came up, The Apostles retired to a large table reserved for them just in front of the Playland. When his own order was up, Judas reached into the pocket of his robe to pay, but felt only change. He turned a pleading look to James. "Ive only got silver can you cover me?" James thrust him a five but did not make eye contact. It had been like this since Luke caught him with a Bible on the back porch of their rented three-story dilapidated wood frame two weeks earlier. The twelve of them lived there with another group of males and females numbering as many as twenty at times and shrinking to as few as three or four when rent day approached. They claimed to be neo-pagans, and no week passed without a celebration of some religious festival or rite that invariably ended in orgy. The inhabitants of the house moved freely between transitory romantic liaisons, restricted not by gender or number, but only by statistical laws of permutations and the whimsical sanction of JC Weeks, their informal and undisputed tribal chieftain. The lease was in JCs name and his family owned the Earth, so he cast all parts, both at home and at the Earth. JC always played lead. The family enjoyed lives free of responsibilities and moral encumbrances endemic to more traditional religions. Several months earlier, however, Judas (not his real name) awoke one morning after the last day of the Sirius Rising festival to find a whiskered, pink-nosed emptiness gnawing at the edges of his Id. It grew over time into a ravenous despair that prompted Judas (not his real name) to withdraw from the debauchery. He tried to talk to the others about it - to incite some higher thinking - but that only deepened his isolation. Outside, more cars pulled in and Mary snorted and stomped, her frustration growing until she finally decided to take action. She walked next door, propped her sign against the glass vestibule, and went in. The place was so packed that it was hard to move about, but she spotted the epicenter right away. The Apostles were seated a table in the back,

49

arranged as in da Vincis Last Supper, munching on burgers and fries and slurping sodas while a gaggle of customers snapped photos on camera phones. The seating gimmick was a JC idea intended to promote the show. Mary lowered her head and pushed through the herd until she stood in front of the group. "Look guys," she bellowed, "that beef is no good for you. Doesnt do me any good either. Come on over next door and have some nice, healthy chicken my treat." Judas nodded and said, "Hey, the cow makes a good offer." Luke shook his head. "I dont know Im not much into chicken. Theres a reason we walk past your place. Get it pasture place." He laughed once, alone, and silence ensued. "Anyway, we only get a half hour. Wonder what JC would do?" Mary countered, "Hey, no worry. Ill get your order up pronto." She turned to the others. "You know those burgers will just sit and fester in your gut. Besides, thats my body you eat." She held out her arms that they might behold her bovinity. Meanwhile, JC sliced through the cheering mob and made his way to the table, but found that Mary blocked the only remaining seat. "Excuse me, but I believe thats my seat, could I ask you to please get thee behind me?" "I was just explaining to your friends how they are trashing their health." She held a hoof to her mouth and whispered, "Whats wrong with these guys. They just sit here like zombies." He nodded. "Yeah, youll have to forgive them. Theyre not too bright, but they are a loyal band of miscreants mostly anyway, and besides, theyre

50

all Ive got." Mary stamped and turned back to the table. "Okay, you all kill yourselves if you want to, but if you ever come to your senses, think about me when you eat and drink. I warned you." She turned on her hooves and disappeared into the crowd. JC shouted after her that several of them were partial to fish, but it was too late. He turned back to his followers. "Now that was one mad cow." A young woman broke through the crowd and put an arm around JC. He introduced her as Mary, manager of the restaurant. Judas knew the face but couldnt place it. "Did you tell them yet?" she asked. JC shuffled his feet and looked down, then up again. "Look, there are going to be a couple of casting changes. Ive got a little situation and Ill have to miss the Friday and Saturday production. Busted for possession last year and Ive got to do the community service thing this weekend. I should be back for the Sunday matinee". Thomas whispered to Peter, "Sure, Ill believe that when I see it." That girl it was the new one hed seen at the house, giving JC a pedicure. Seeing her in clothes had thrown him off. Judas asked, "What else? You said a couple of changes." JC grimaced and said, "Yeah, Ive been meaning to talk to you about that. I think maybe it would be better if Mary does the Judas role. Shes got a little more experience, and honestly, a better voice."

51

The words brought a sudden chill that froze all sound and motion. Judas felt his cheeks blaze. "I dont believe it. Youre seriously gonna flush me just like that." He glared at Mary and said, "And I dont suppose this has anything to do with her company sponsoring the play?" "Now look, "JC protested, "This is for the good of the production, its not just about any one of us." "Forget you, you snake! Im going next door" Judas (not his real name) shouted, and stomped off into the crowd. JC watched him go, then turned back to his followers and spread his arms wide. "Oh well, not a happy meal for him." He grinned and added, "Dibs on his burger". By Jim McInvale

part of my personal story

By Bliden
I do have a personal story actually and this has nothing to due with life at home as I grew up in a good middle class family of hard workers with good hearts, but based on the reality of life outside the home. You see from the beginning I was dealt the hand of being tiny and scrawny, which of course as you can imagine made me a target for every moron out there that wanted to make an example or boost there egos. I was made fun of and beat up for years from kindergarten all the way to fifth grade..and that's no exaggeration. Always made fun of for everything from my teeth, to my hair, to the way I breathe at the time. I had Bronchial asthma at that time and it made

53

me "snort" as it was. You can imagine how that went. In fourth grade even my teacher made fun of me and berated me every chance he got. I never really knew why. I was the joke of the class. At this point I was angry and had no outlet. I even tried fitting in to make things better, but I never fit in anywhere so that didn't work. the one group that let me in only did so to beat on me further. At this point my esteem hit the floor and I thought I was the ugliest thing walking. All this time my parents were there for me as much as they could be, but I was angry and hurt and I felt as most teens do they didn't understand. I lashed out and by fifth grade I hit the gym and made a list of sorts. Fought with many people and gained somewhat of a reputation. Children can be cruel and I did things I would never do again out of anger because of the way things were. Its interesting how most don't notice or take it seriously saying "kids will be kids" or they blame TV or blame other things. Even after I gained the rep it slowly faded and when I entered high school it started all over. More fights and more drama, but my junior year I was back on top. Still angry and slowly gaining confidence. I was blessed to meet and have great friends at that point. I believe now that things happen for a reason, even though we may not know why at the time. Id like to think these events hardened me and helped me to understand things from another viewpoint. I am far form what I was back then, but every so often anger rears up. Depends on who triggers it.

are seen despite being "stalked" she makes sure to post every site and place she can be found and what she is doing throughout each day, and attaches another image of her hairy private parts for some unknown reason... questions: who are these stalkers and why chase some crazy hairy naked woman?? are they real? are these stalkers just her split personality? or she just so extremely excited to have a stalker that she must brag to all 1000 plus of her facebook friends, how popular her private parts have become? I would think that here would be a good place to bring up the story of the boy who cried wolf..nuff said... next month~ number 2 the app addict from hell....

So, Once again Ning Creators are hit with a price raise on their networks... here are some reactions when Persephone asked her members what they thought on Pagan UnderWorld~ Changes in Ning Prices for us. Let Me know what you think? By Persephone I am under the Pro plan and have been from the beginning but with this bump up in pricing this basically adds $10.00 a month. I never ask for donations and don't expect any, a few wonderful individuals have kindly upon occasion donated when they could. Because I shoulder the price and have put so much effort into giving you so much information as has many of my Administrators not to mention members, I feel we might have to bump down to the Plus option. We lose videos and music, API access and our Splash page, language filter (this could be good for us ;) but then how many of us are really inputting the videos and music. Tell me your thoughts on this please, thank you. Persephone

That's a great idea - the level in between. A notice for this would have been nice. Only a year after we started paying they are raising the rates? I like some of the changes while others are useless. I am not sure about PU but ITD has had few technical issues. I think your like me in that as long as membership and activity increases/flows its worth it to pay - for now. is no good, the spam watchlist is useless, the support they mention just started and I think we all know of the issues trying to get answers from Ning in the past. Paid access areas could make enough to pay for the site in itself... could. While it is nice to be able to have your own background, I have found that it really isn't necessary, just a perk. I have had my site on Parody for almost a year now, and while the platform does have its bugs, they have made many improvements over the past year. As for the sign in problems, they have made a new required profile pic which doesnt seem to load with explorer but after the initial registration you can sign in from anywhere. I do like Ning, the perks are great... the platform works well and is reliable. I dont see this particular site as suitable for one of the free platform as the number of members alone... I do have over 400 members and am not even touching my bandwidth limit... I dont thing that going to the lower plan should cause any issues for this site, accept for those that you have mentioned. Which if you can do without... go for it. I wish I could help. Happy Solstice Reply by Oisin I know of a few sites that are struggling and this will certainly finish them off. We all share sites, but members cannot contribute to all the sites they are on. As for the up and coming Paid Access that Ning are talking about, Network Creators beware and get real, you will not make money but will pay more to Ning, your members will never go for that as they are also members of other sites. Ning is squeezing as much blood out of us as they can. don't forget we (Creators) are actually working for them! alternative, and at least has a search engine for other sites. Until Network Creators start voting with their feet by moving their sites, Ning will not change and will find ways to increase charges more. The longer you are with Ning the more difficult it will be to move as you will have built up your membership. I had a great site with Ning which I personally paid for, but they were useless at solving problems and ignored requests to do so. I and my Network partner Hidden Soldier put years of personal time and effort into our site with no thanks from Ning who deleted it in error! Reply by Persephone I would have to receive at least $20. monthly from members to allow me to keep the Pro, I also pay for the Skysa bar and email finder (keeps us somewhat safe) so really it starts to add up. I will wait to get a good idea of responses then decide plus put out a broadcast people will be losing their vids. Reply by Persephone Damn really? Deleted it, well hell honestly I have also worried about this myself. Any bump and poof off goes all our hard work. It take so much time to keep PUW active that its hard for me to transfer anything but maybe its time for a back up. Reply by maurice jamie jodoin i called ning seeing I own my own site. the reason. i was told on the phone was that that have to pay for all the new features including the number they added. The extra ten is going to hurt. iwish we could help each other.

65

Reply by Persephone That was my point to them, I never asked for the new features, barely use what they have. The like button takes away share with FB which I prefer so that didn't work for me and so much more. Why not have a level between Plus and Pro, for those that need more than the Plus but less then the Pro, I suggested $39.99. Here are more changes coming up: Mobile Browsing The world is quickly adopting the idea of viewing the Internet on small screens carried in back pockets. Phones are primary, and we know tablets are increasingly important, too. We want your communities and members to have a great, seamless experience on any device. To that end, were working on an optimized version of your social sites that will allow anyone with an iPhone, Android, or Blackberry (to name a few) to easily interact on your network. Youll still have the option of creating a custom iPhone app from one of our partners, but this new mobile version will be available to all Ning Networks. It will include many of the most popular features: Status, Activity Feed, Photos, Profiles, Forum, Videos, Groups, Blogs, as well as the ability to easily message other members. Help Center improvements Weve steadily expanded your support options over the past year, including adding billing support for everyone, dedicated phone support for Ning Pro customers and email support for Ning Mini. We want to expand on that and put Help Center ticket details directly in your Dashboard for easy access, with detailed status information right there. Simply put: We want to give you more information at your fingertips to answer questions immediately, and when you do reach out to us, ensure that we are more available and responsive than ever.

Chat Some Ning Networks dont use the Chat feature at all, but those who do use it a lot and have asked for robust improvements. We are very (very!) excited to let you know that youll soon see a brand new and improved chat feature. This new chat will be a step up in just about every way, from interface to capabilities. This is one of the first features youll be able to try out in the next few months. Events Some Ning Networks are heavily focused on Events, both online and offline. Weve heard lots of great feedback about how we can make the Events feature even more useful for both Ning Creators and their members. A long standing request is the ability to copy events, and were committed to making that a reality. Its now on our calendar. Paid-Access added options We recently announced our eagerly awaited Paid-Access feature, which allows you to charge your members to join and/or access valuable content on your network. You can do so with a fixed price or ask for donations. The next phase of this project involves adding recurring subscription payments and offering even more options for how to pay for and use it. Better Pages Youve always been able to add standalone pages to your network. Were going to make them a lot more valuable by adding privacy controls for Pages, the ability for you to customize your URLs, and the option for one-column (full-width) pages. If youre interested in SEO, youll be happy to hear that you will soon have control over the meta tags for a page, as well as being able to add custom code to the tag.

Theme Marketplace The Design Studio we released earlier this year has been a breakthrough change, offering Ning Creators the ability to highly customize their network. People love the new themes and the ability to quickly and easily preview and change them. In fact, theyve asked for more themes, and were going to provide that in the form of a Theme Marketplace. This will provide Ning Creators, as well as outside designers, the ability to submit themes theyve created. It will even allow people who submit themes to charge for those themes, if they choose. Internationalization It may not be apparent to all of you, but weve started making some extensive language-specific improvements to the Ning platform. It will become more visible over time, with the ultimate goal being to offer your members a way to view your network in their native language. A few things you will begin to see include: a decrease in the amount of time between when a new feature is released and having it offered in all languages; translations of popular Help Center articles to major languages; and language-specific community support groups. Ning Extension: Aviary Members love to share photos. What if they could edit those photos right on the site? We'll be rolling out a nifty palette of tools and effects to add text, crop, and even drag-and-drop fun and funny stickers on those photos. It's a great way to get your members engaged, and youll see it soon with our upcoming Aviary Extension. We're calling it Photo Effects and Stickers. Reply by Galina

Pers,EMW is on Plus, but we have videos...and we download tons!..and for playing music each member can use any player he finds in the web.I really don't know, but looks like plus is enough,at least for us,but of course, you are ten times larger. Anyway,Ning right now is the most easy and convenient...Last year, many sites left Ning for spruz,or whatever is name, but creating your personal "home" is so difficult there,so it didn't work...EASY ways of reaching each other, communicating, expressing ourselves- that's what important,- and for that,I think,Plus is pretty fine...and if you can manage to make it in between, that will be even more than enough... Reply by Tracy Xifaras(MysteryX) I use to to have about 5 sites on Ning that I ran a few years ago, til they started charging and I closed them down now I have 2 sites under Spruz which is free, but only up to 50 members and they do have an upgrade package for 4.95 a month which will give me 150 members which I will be having to get soon, I just wish that there was another outlet like Ning that wasnt all about charging money for these sites that bring people together. Reply by Witdove Personally I think you should make your own site-as ning has way too many problems an doesnt seem to ever get all the bugs completely out of their scripts. You can get unlimited space/bandwidth for $60 a year an make your site completely your way with whatever you want to add..thats my opinion-its what I do!!!

SUPER 8
With Super 8, J.J. Abrams pays homage to kid adventure and sci-fi mystery films of the 70s and 80s. But is the movie everything that viewers hope or expect it to be? Super 8 has had something of a confusing marketing campaign leading up to its release. Some people know it as that J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg movie, while others know it as that Goonies-meets-ET throwback flick. Then there are others (many others) who wont have the faintest idea what this film is all about. As with any movie, its important to approach Super 8 with your expectations properly aligned to what the film has to offer -- and in this case, that offering is a mix of nostalgia, thrills, and good-old-fashioned movie magic, conjured by a cast of charmingly funny and talented young actors.

70

Despite all of its creature-feature promises, the story of the film is classic Spielbergian drama: in 1970s small-town Ohio, young Joe Lamb (newcomer Joel Courtney) loses his mother in a tragic accident. Joes father, deputy Jackson Lamb (Kyle Chandler), is broken by the loss, and buries his pain beneath his role as the towns stalwart protector. Alone and neglected, young Joe finds his own ways to displace his grief -- mainly by clutching onto a locket his mother wore, and by aiding his friend Charles (Riley Griffiths) in making an amateur super 8 movie called The Case, which the boys hope to submit to a local film festival. One night, Joe, Charles, and the rest of their crew (Cary, a pyro, Martin, a worry-wort, and Preston, a goody-two-shoes) decide to sneak away to film a pivotal scene out by the train station. The boys are joined by a girl (of course): Alice Dainard (Elle Fanning), a skilled actress who happens to be the rebellious daughter of the town drunkand Joes secret crush. Everything is mint (youll hear that term a lot in this film) until a pickup truck swerves onto the tracks and derails an oncoming train. In the aftermath of the destruction, the kids learn that this accident was no accident, and that the train was not your average train. They narrowly escape the scene before the military locks it down, but soon after, their town is plagued by a series of mysterious occurrences that force the kids to face an unimaginable situation -- one that will inevitably bring Joe and his father face-to-face with their issues. The epic train crash scene in 'Super 8' Lets be clear: Super 8 is not the sci-fi monster movie that some people may be expecting. There is indeed a strange creature terrorizing the kids town, but this plot thread is mostly used for narrative drive, and the creature itself is seldom shown in the film (until the climax, of course). What the movie chooses to focus on instead, is how this group of kids bond and develop during this extraordinary event -- especially Joe and Alice, whose budding romance (and all the problems it causes) is more of a Romeo & Juliet story. Some people may read that description and feel like Super 8 is another bait-and-switch film that promises one thing and delivers another. How a movie is marketed is another topic, but its clear in the film that the

71

intention of the filmmakers (Abrams and to lesser extent Spielberg) is to pay homage to 80s movies like The Goonies, which told coming of age tales by placing children in fantastical (often dangerous) situations. And, as with any coming of age story, the odds of the films success rest heavily on the shoulders of its young cast. The kid characters in Super 8 are pretty thinly drawn -- sad kid, crazy kid, egotistical kid, scared kid, etc. -- however the young actors playing them are pretty solid. The kids are at once 70s vintage and very modern, using old slang (mint!) combined with a modern edge (some profanity, but nothing too offensive). Several of the kids are very charismatic (Griffiths as Charles and Ryan Lee as pyromaniac Cary steal just about every scene theyre in), and the two leads (Courtney and Fanning) are downright talented. Their puppy-love romance has many layers of grief, guilt, loneliness and longing bubbling under the surface, and the movies best moments come from watching Joe and Alice connect over their pain. The kids of 'Super 8' As a newcomer, Courtney isnt the greatest when it comes to nuance and subtlety -- but thankfully the script calls for Joe to be mostly numb and blank-faced instead of openly emotional; his feelings are instead expressed through symbolic means, such as the locket he clutches for comfort. Elle Fanning (the sister of Dakota Fanning) is leagues ahead of the boys, and Abrams wisely puts most of the heavier moments in the film on her shoulders and lets her carry them home. Definite star potential there. The adults in the film (like the creature) are mostly used for backdrop and filler moments in the story. Kyle Chandler continues to be one of the better actors working today, and pulls off a character arch that is so understated you have to watch his eyes and the very lines of his face to pick out the complexity of whats going on in deputy Lambs troubled head. Ron Eldard similarly does well playing Alices dad, Louis Dainard, who he manages to lift out of the realm of cliche (the town drunk / abusive father) up to an equally complex and nuanced performance. Other faces pop up here and there -- Noah Emmerich as the evil military commander, Richard T. Jones as his henchman, other recognizable faces

72

as the townspeople -- but theyre not exactly well-developed, interesting or even memorable. The exception is maybe David Gallagher as Donny, the town pothead, a bit part that is milked for maximum hilarity. While the lack of depth in a lot of the characters is noticeable, it isnt all that disappointing since the young protagonists are really the focus here. For the most part, J.J. Abrams pulls off a good balance of light humor, drama thats never too heavy, and some good jump-in-your-seat thrills here and there. The downside is that the final act of the movie devolves into a standard sci-fi action chase, complete with a Spielberg-brand, gooey feel-good ending that does away with a lot of the great foundation built beneath it. However, this is often the case with stories that hinge on some kind of central mystery: the revelations are rarely as satisfying as the anticipation. The creature (for all the mystery surrounding it) isnt all that impressive, and for some, the character transitions will feel rushed or unearned (I found them to be subtle and nuanced, but thats just me). Overall, though, Super 8 is a pretty enjoyable movie experience and the young characters at its center are pretty entertaining. The story is nothing new or revolutionary, but the element of nostalgia is a favorable one. Oh, and for those wondering: Yes, Abrams still manages to fit some of his signature lens flares into the movie. Take that how you will. Comment By Bliden I didnt care for this movie. While the idea and premise are there the kids lack and spend more time making fun of each other than actually deal with the "threat" I wont give away the movie for those who wish to see it, however I think it is rather disappointing.

The Pretty Recklesss

This is a fairly new band to hit the sene many my Know her from the TV series Gossip Girl and many may not even know who she is, but after listen to her band and her sing I must tell you even I was amazed by her voice and the music. A very talented singer and song writer with a voice that will leave you breathless and make you think of Janus Joplin but with a metal edge to it. There album Light me Up released this year is by far one of the best albums I have heard this year in this genera of music, if you haven't heard her yet you really do need to check it out and see for your self.

Biography
LIGHT ME UP

One night several years ago, Taylor Momsens father took his daughter to a White Stripes show. Before that, the only concert Id been to was Britney Spears, says the singer, songwriter, and guitarist. But once I saw Jack White on stage, that was it. I grew up as a dancer and I thought you had to dance to be a girl in the music industry. Then I saw the White Stripes and I was like, No, you dont. I can do that. Momsen was nine. Jack Whites raw power and deceptively simple guitar-and-vocal attack proved to be highly influential on the now 16-year-old Momsen, who began humming melodies before she could talk and writing songs at the age of five after falling in love with The Beatles. I was obsessed with them, she says. I also loved Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, Audioslave, Soundgarden, Oasis, and Nirvana. Thats what I listened to. My rock idols are all men. So its not surprising that Momsen channels a lot of masculine energy on LIGHT ME UP, her rock-and-roll-heroine-in-the-making debut album with her band The Pretty Reckless. The songs, all written by Momsen and Ben Phillips with their producer Kato Khandwala, run the gamut of emotions, alternating at times between seething rage and a bruised vulnerability. With Momsens inky vocals, pummeling riffs, and swaggering attitude, LIGHT ME UP sounds a bit like what might have happened had Led Zeppelin been fronted by a chick. The albums ferocity could raise an eyebrow from those expecting a pretty, blonde teenager to gravitate toward straight-up pop song writing. Its heavier than people might expect from me, says Momsen, who is best known as the actress who plays Jenny Humphrey on The CWs Gossip Girl. But this album is the most honest expression of who I truly am. Momsen is a smart, emotionally complex young woman who has

75

developed a strong identity despite growing up in the notoriously critical and fickle entertainment industry. Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Taylor spent much of her time in NYC and at thirteen, she relocated to Manhattan. At two years old, Momsen signed to a modeling agency and a year later she began acting professionally appearing in commercials as well as films such as The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. In 2007 Momsen was cast as a lead in the CW show Gossip Girl. I didnt choose acting or modeling, I got thrown into it, Momsen says. I liked it, so that wasnt a problem, but music and song writing are what Ive always really wanted to do. Ive been working with producers and hanging out in recording studios since I was five, I just couldnt put out an album when I was eight, she says with a laugh. Now I can. LIGHT ME UP is an unflinchingly honest chronicle of Momsens experiences, filtered through her unique point of view. The record is about life, she says. It covers everything: love, death, and music itself. Its rock and roll. Its sex. Its drugs. Its religion. Its politics. Each song tells a story about the trials and tribulations and emotional struggles that Ive experienced or observed. Its not a happy pop record, but its not Satan-worshiping either. The lyrics arent meant to be taken literally, they are open to interpretation. The songs tackle everything from romantic insecurity (the full-throttle rager Make Me Wanna Die, which also appears on the soundtrack to the film Kick-Ass), to despair (You), to how working non-stop can you make you feel like one of the un-dead (Zombie). Momsen pushes back against the haters on Light Me Up and asks how far you have to go to get forgiveness on Going Down. With her growly, world-weary alto, Momsen can do it all: garage-rock rave-ups (Miss Nothing), punchy blues-rock stompers (My Medicine, Since Youre Gone), as well as emotional power ballads (Just Tonight) and lovely acoustic guitar and string-driven numbers (You).

76

Im not just writing something because I think people might like it, Momsen says. I hope they do, but Im writing it because I have something to say. So many feelings go into the lyrics that its hard to explain what theyre about. Momsen first hooked up with Khandwala (Blondie, Drowning Pool, Paramore, Breaking Benjamin) and partner and songwriter, Phillips in October 2008. By the spring of last year, they felt they had hit upon a sound that felt authentic to her. The three of us have similar musical taste, so it was easy to find that singular vision, Phillips says. Kato and I worked very hard to help Taylor reach her potential because we could see how talented she was right off the bat. She went into the vocal booth and began to sing and we turned to each other and went, Holy sh*t, shes f**ing great. Her voice was astonishing. So many artists these days let their voices be discombobulated by computers. Taylor doesnt do that. She doesnt need to. She can walk into a room and kick your ass.

I do not yet know when they well be performing here in the US but I am sure it will be soon since the band is from NY I would look for them here very soon, but for those that wish to travel over sea's here is there up and coming tours...

THE BOOK OF THE DEAD The Papyrus of Ani by E. A. WALLIS BUDGE [1895]

79

For most people this will be a very boring read due to it's depth and break downs, which is a shame for there is so much that can be learned from this book. I Know many occultist will recognize the Name E.A. Wallis Budge for he was and is the leading scholar on egyptian Hyrioglphs and ancient text's, His works were the break through of his time and are still used to this day. As for this book it deal's with the journey that each Pharaoh took after death but it also give's you a truly deep understand of there beliefs and religious practices, it will open your eyes to new ideas and maybe even take you on a spiritual journey that can only be found within these passages that will open doors to higher understanding and set your soul a flight. Do to the length and many note's this book isn't for every one but for those that like to explore history and to explore an almost forgotten religion and there magic this book is for you. Dont do this Anywhere. How to wash a cat

By Silvershoe (!) B.W. This was simply too much of a time saver not to share it with you. 1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl... 2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom. 3. In one smooth movement put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid. 4. At this point the cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this! 5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'Power-Wash' and 'Rinse'.

88

6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door. 7. Stand well back, behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid. 8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off. 9. Both the toilet and the cat will be sparkling clean. Yours Sincerely, The Dog

Unity Among Pagan & Witches By Devilwoman

I will tell you, I love this community as much as my own, for one good reason... This site, ran by her admins, and Persephones class, are about unity. You will not find one of her admins, or her, ever say someone isn't pagan enough, or to prove themselves, or there not witchy enough.... Frankly, some of the other sites leave a bad taste in my mouth....for that reason... We should be united, we should call one another friend, brother and sister, for if not us, who would .... Do we not all know we are all connected on the astral plane, spiritually connected ? The very reason I turned from religion, is the reason I loved my pagan roots... For we believe in the seen and unseen, and we can speak truths with our brother and sisters, and gather respect, even if one doesnt agree.... So have you experienced prejudice or even other pagans and witches being a bully ? I tell you it starts with one, and it will grow.... United we stand, divided we crumble...

History of Chakras Posted By Persephone

It is obviously wonderful that the chakras, as archetypal components of consciousness, are finally gaining prominence in the collective mindset. It is supplemented with more books and references than ever before. While this popularity is making the chakras a household word, it is also spreading a lot of confusing and conflicting information. It is important to realize the chakras come from an ancient tradition. Many New Age teachers have barely explored this with great success. A brief summary of the Chakra System`s historical development has been discussed for the improvement of the knowledge. The chakras are inextricably linked with the science and practice of yoga. The word yoga means `yoke`. It is a system of philosophy and practice designed to yoke the mortal self to its divine nature of pure consciousness. The origin of yoga and earliest mention of the chakras goes back to the Vedas, meaning `knowledge`. There is a series of hymns that are the oldest written tradition in India. These writings were created from an even older oral tradition of the Aryan culture. This is believed to be an invading Indo-European tribe that swept into India during the second millennium B.C.E.

The Aryans were said to have entered India on chariots, and the original meaning of the word chakra as `wheel` refers to the chariot wheels of the invading Aryans. The word was also a metaphor for the sun, that great wheel that rolls across the sky like a blazing chariot of a chakravartin. This was the name for the Aryan chariot-rulers. The wheel also denotes the eternal cycle of time called the kalachakra. In this way, the wheel represents celestial order and balance. One further meaning is that a chakra is a Tantric circle of worshipers as well.

91

It is said that the chakravartins were preceded by a glowing golden disk of light, much like the halo of Christ. The birth of a chakravartin wassaid to herald a new age, and it could be this time period that marked the dawning of the third chakra era of human history. It is also said that the god Vishnu came down to Earth. He had four arms and each of them carrying something as a chakra, a lotus flower, a club, and a conch shell. This may also have referred to a chakra as a discus-like weapon.

Following the Vedas were the Upanishads. Upanishad is mainly the wisdom teachings passed from teacher to disciple. There is some mention of the chakras as psychic centers of consciousness in the Yoga Upanishads and later in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The classic eightfold path of yoga tradition can be understood from Patanjali`s sutras. This tradition was largely dualistic, stating that nature and spirit were separate. It advised ascetic practices and renunciation of one`s instinctual nature as a way to enlightenment.

It was in the non-dual Tantric tradition that the chakras and Kundalini came to be an integral part of yoga philosophy. The Tantric teachings are a syncretical weaving of many spiritual traditions of India. This mainly came to popularity during the sixth and seventh century A.D., in reaction to the dualistic philosophy, which preceded it. This tradition advised being in the world rather than separate from it. Tantra is commonly viewed in the West as primarily a sexual tradition. Tantrism put sexuality in a sacred context and regards the body as a sacred temple for the consciousness within. Yet this is actually only a small part of a broad philosophy, which combines many practices of hatha and kundalini yoga. Worship of deities, especially of the Hindu goddesses, and focuses on integrating universal forces all get importance.

92

The word tantra literally means `loom` and denotes a weaving of disparate threads into a tapestry of wholeness. Thus, the Chakra System, coming out of Tantric tradition, weaves the polarities of spirit and matter, mind and body, masculine and feminine, Heaven and Earth, into a single philosophy of many philosophical strands, reaching even back to the oral tradition that preceded the Vedas.

Apart from the Sat-Cakra-Nirupana, and the Padaka-Pancaka, written in the tenth century there is also another tenth-century text called the Gorakshashatakam, which gives instructions for meditating on the chakras. These texts form the basis of our understanding of chakra theory today.

In these traditions, there are seven basic chakras that exist within the subtle body, interpenetrating the physical body. The subtle body is the nonphysical psychic body that is superimposed on our physical bodies. It can be measured as electromagnetic force fields within and around all living creatures. As for example Kirlian photography has actually photographed the emanations of the subtle body in both plants and animals. In yoga psychology, the subtle body is divided into five sheaths of varying refinement in the subtle body, called koshas. At the core of the body, the subtle field appears as spinning disks or chakras. The chakras are the psychic generators of the auric field. The aura itself is the meeting point between the core patterns generated by the chakras and the influence of the external word.

Through modern physiology it can be seen that these seven chakras are located near the seven major nerve ganglia that emanate from the spinal column. There are two minor chakras mentioned in the ancient texts, the soma chakra, located just above the third eye, and the Anandakanda

93

lotus, which contains the Celestial Wishing Tree or Kalpataru of the Heart Chakra. Some esoteric systems propose nine or twelve chakras, while other traditions, such as Vajrayana Buddhism, describe only five centers. Since a chakra is literally a vortex of energy, there is no limit to their number. However, the original seven master chakras form a profound and elegant system. Mastering the first seven chakras can easily take a lifetime.

Many interpretations on the chakras advise transcending the lower chakras in favor of the more expansive upper chakras. This view arose during a period in history where all the major patriarchal religions advocated the greater importance of mind over matter, thus denying the existence of the spiritual within the mundane realms. Careful reading of the Tantric texts does not imply the denial of the lower chakras in favor of the upper chakras, but merely an enfoldment, where each higher level is transcendence. This includes and is built on the level below it. In this way, the lower chakras provide a foundation for our spiritual growth, much as the roots of a tree, which push downward, allow the tree to grow taller. with permission from indianetzone.com

1. When coming into Pagan UnderWorld community what do enjoy doing first, heading to your favorite group, reading the newest discussion, greeting members, interacting with friends? I always see information from PUW in my inbox and mostly go to check on new discussion.Though I unfortunately usually don't have much time and rarely participate, but,in general,I try to stay in touch with what's going on here.I have a good collection of Trance music on PUW,and we have an absolutely wonderful group Trance Underworld,so I am trying to keep it alive a bit...Especially,when I find a new interesting DJ,I download several videos of his work, but I try not to duplicate ,so my EMW and PUW collections differ from each other...Unless I find something unique and fascinating, then I post on both sites,so people on PUW don't miss something really deserving to know...

2. Give us an idea of how you came about your beliefs and what you do to express them?

It's a very long and very complicated way...Spiritual search has started in my early teen ages.I am Indigo. But that's already became clear very much post-factum...But the real push was the death of my husband,I was 30 at the time.I could not accept the fact of disappearing, vanishing into nothing life.So I began my research.Para-psychology,Yoga,15 years long clinical depression,Indian and Chinese philosophies,Pentecostal church,Baptism with Holy Spirit (tongues),then immigration to America, all alone...I don't blame and fully understand the mind-controlling position of church: for two years I have been reading only the Bible, forbidding myself to touch anything else. Then I left the church completely.Started to study Kabbala.Got the idea, went back to yoga, this time Agni-Yoga.Blavatskaya,Alice Bailey,Ramacharaka, - they still are my

96

favorites. Then Kryon and Lightworkers for a few years, and from them with them,-nicely and naturally, without any doubt, and with the same love for Jesus, but not as god,but one of the greatest Avatars,Great Teaches, like Buddah,Melchizedek...with evergrowing love and fascination for Creator: MOTHER and FATHER ,- manifesting themselves in all and everything,- I found myself at home.Pagan.No fear for anything, just hunger to learn everything.

3. Express yourself on yourself! A quote, A prose, A personal belief, An interesting Fact.

My favorite quote lately I have stolen from Ashton Kutcher, from his twit:"Let's stop concentrating on our independence and start concentrating on our inter-dependence". I firmly believe in One-ness.In our inter-connection.That if I feel down without visual reason,it means something is going on somewhere, with somebody, and that's why I have to force myself to collect myself and send joy and love "to the world in general",- and this energy will find that right person. And another one:"Angels fly, because they take themselves lightly; demons fall because of gravity..."...:))

4. What have been some fascinating things you have come across in one of the Groups you belong to?

I always loved music, but mostly classic and art-rock like "Pink Floyd",and It was really fascinating for me to find out that my real type of energy is Trance...My daughter and granddaughter don't care for Trance, but their

97

grandma dances her tail away, even when she is sitting at laptop. And of course, vampires.I met vampires here,I have been explained and understood much,I STILL hate their teeth and blood all over, but I have vampires friends, and they are lovely people...:))...Many prejudices have gone, mind opens wider...

5. We considered you a good member to feature; this is your chance to voice your opinion on anything you wish

I consider PaganUnderWorld my homeland.I can't be here much,I have my duties outside, but I want to feel, and I do feel, that any time when I shout for help,I get the answer first - from PUW.Because,it is still home.Though it is strange, because, first sites were Wicca and PaganSpace...lol Thank you for being here.

Week starting on July 4 To paraphrase the opening paragraph of F. Scott Fitzgerald's most famous novel, whenever you feel like criticizing someone, keep in mind that they haven't had all the advantages that you've had. This is sound advice on Monday and Tuesday; may it inspire you to keep your lips zipped. By Wednesday, and through Friday, your social interactions require less forethought and deliberation, as your natural charm and genuine interest in other people come through. This weekend, however, you're all tapped out in the charm department. Stay home.

101

Week starting on July 11 You're all out of juice on Monday, and you need to recharge. If only you could plug yourself into a wall! Alas, you're not a robot, you're a person. Still, there are things you can do -- things you love doing but rarely get around to -- that give you energy. Do them. By Wednesday, you're so amped you'll be leaping over tall buildings and shooting fireballs from your hands. Thursday and Friday see you capitalizing -- finally! -- on an opportunity you've been waiting for. Now is the time to assert yourself. Saturday and Sunday are deal-closing days.

Week starting on July 18 The more you try to assert yourself at the beginning of the week, the more muddled things get. Try directing your energy toward a volunteer project, a team endeavor or helping someone else. And listen up. Much better stuff comes your way around Wednesday and Thursday. You look terrific in the spotlight, though it may have a hard time keeping up with you! From Friday through the weekend, couple your natural enthusiasm with thinking things through, especially when it comes to expressing yourself. Well-chosen words (with heart!) find their mark now. Week starting on July 25 You're full of extra enthusiasm and even some great new ideas as the week kicks off -- just be aware that one or two of the little things could escape you now. From sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday, home is where your heart is. Get your digs in order and settle in; you'll deeply enjoy being mellow, whether it's solo-style or with family or friends. Different, hotter energy comes your way late Thursday and extends

102

through most of what just might be an extremely romantic weekend. Are you ready for some amazing adventure on your love path?

Week starting on July 4 As Mae West said, 'Too much of a good thing can be wonderful.' That's your motto on Monday and Tuesday -- surprisingly fun, beautiful days with more than a good chance of romance. If romance isn't in the picture, a lot of great friends are. Wednesday through Friday may not be quite as spectacular, but on the heels of Monday and Tuesday's nonstop excitement, even the Grand Canyon would seem ho-hum. Tear yourself away from your friends long enough to squeeze in a workout before the weekend. Saturday and Sunday might be taxing. Week starting on July 11 On Monday, the tension in the air is so thick you could cut it with a butter knife and spread it on toast. Except you might not be in the mood to eat it. Passion and jealousy figure strongly -- turmoil that might affect your stomach. Tuesday and Wednesday bring welcome distractions. You have great conversational chemistry with someone you've just met, but there's something funny about them you can't put your finger on. Thursday and Friday, travel is in the stars -- or at least travel plans are being nailed down -- which is great: You'd love to get out of town. This weekend is nonstop weirdness. Week starting on July 18

103

Get together with others early in the week, whether it's gathering input and expertise in a meeting at work, or seeing friends to laugh and talk things over. The more you open up, the better. Wednesday is good for starting something new, what with the surge of energy you've got coming. Just have a plan and stick to it somewhat! The days around Friday are all about you. You're highly productive in all areas of life, and if you've got love on your mind, now's the time to go for it -- you're hot. On Sunday, though, take a second look at something or someone. Week starting on July 25 You're just not as practical as usual as the week begins. Avoid making any major financial moves or career decisions now, and any planning should be of the short-term variety. Then, from sometime Tuesday through Thursday, the energy's ideal for sharing your feelings; you'll recognize the right moment instead of kicking yourself later. Go on, say it! Someone you interact with on Friday or this weekend may be every bit as bullheaded as you. It's annoying, yet also intriguing. Imagine what you can accomplish if you join forces instead of butting heads!

Week starting on July 4 Marcus Aurelius said, 'Be not wordy nor a busybody.' He said this almost 2,000 years ago and he wasn't talking about you, but the advice holds on Monday and Tuesday. Communication is difficult (so be crystal-clear), and

104

busybodies only create more confusion. Wednesday through Friday, when things simmer down and you're trying to impress a romantic interest, you might let a line or two of philosophy slip into your conversations. If the Roman Empire interests you, this weekend is perfectly suited for just-for-the-fun-of-it library research. Week starting on July 11 If you find yourself unsure of your next move on Monday, step out of your routine and do something physical: a jog, some pushups, even a goofy dance if no one is watching. Exercise is great for your mind, and this week relies heavily on your mental capabilities. Tuesday and Wednesday, several important people in your life will want to discuss complicated moral issues with you, and Thursday and Friday require sharpness as well: Confusion, undercurrents and hidden agendas are in the stars. Saturday and Sunday, prepare to meet someone unlike anyone else you already know. Week starting on July 18 Someone's not saying exactly what they mean as the week gets going, and that someone might be you. Instead of hedging, don't be afraid to let someone know that you don't know -- yet. You'll probably develop a better idea around Wednesday and Thursday, perhaps on the strength of some good advice or even an unmistakable sign. Moreover, what you say, even on the spur of the moment, has deep meaning. Friday and the weekend are more about questions than statements. Ask (and answer) some serious ones first, and things could get flirty on Sunday. Week starting on July 25 The stars are highlighting everything that's amazing about you as the week begins. You've got a way with words that's extremely winning, and

105

everyone's loving you. Make some moves in all areas of life! Around Wednesday and Thursday, however, it's time to stop and reassess. Get yourself to sit down and make a list of career goals, romantic ideals or just plain old errands. From Friday through most of the weekend, you've got massive can-do energy, incredible intelligence and quite the sense of adventure. You'll want to be all ready for action!

Week starting on July 4 The Beatles' song 'Good Day Sunshine' is your anthem on Monday and Tuesday -- at least, it's a good summation of how you're feeling. The first half of the week is a good time to make plans and connect with others. Then, Wednesday through Friday, the focus shifts from plans and friends to domestic matters, and in this realm you face some challenges. Don't rush into a new project (building a fence) just because something else isn't going well (repainting the kitchen). Finish what you've started. Working around the house is exactly what you're in the mood for this weekend too. Week starting on July 11 As Henry Fonda, playing a military officer, said long ago, 'Indecision is a virus that can run through an army and destroy its will to win or even to survive.' Your situation isn't that dire, but you are having a hard time making up your mind about anything on Monday, and your lack of energy on Tuesday and Wednesday is challenging as well. Rather than foist yourself on the rest of the world on Thursday and Friday, you'd do better sitting in a park looking at the sky, or at home with a pillow and a book. Saturday and Sunday see you being social for the first time all week.

106

Week starting on July 18 Your responses are right on target early in the week. Let your mind and heart both weigh in, and you'll be golden. (The way you say things is great, too -- you have a way with words.) Then, before you get bent out of shape on Wednesday or Thursday, ask yourself if you might just be taking things a little too seriously. A further inquiry might reveal a lot and be a big relief, too. From Friday through the weekend, your unique charms are getting noticed. You're the star at a party, delightful on a date and generally wonderful (and wonderfully unpredictable) in any and all circumstances.

Week starting on July 25 Doing something a bit out of character can be extremely liberating at the beginning of the week, though you may want to do it outside of the context of work (or at least make sure your boss isn't around!). Take a bold, positive step, and then watch the stars push you further and faster from sometime Tuesday through Thursday. Is romance on your mind? You're very good at it right now! If you're thinking about a major expenditure (financial or even emotional) around Friday or this weekend, be sure you've considered the long-term impact.

Week starting on July 4 The budget you drew up recently has become useless. All the numbers

107

have toppled out of their squares and landed on the floor. You need something more realistic, something you can stick to. This is a perfect project for the first half of the week. Wednesday and Thursday are much more about other people -- one of whom would be happy to consult on a big purchase you're considering -- and Friday is for lovers: If you don't already have a date, find one! Do something spontaneous and fun. Stay up late. You have the whole weekend to sleep.

Week starting on July 11 Old things are appealing to you on Monday: pictures with distressed frames, scuffed furniture, fading photos. Anything with a story captivates you. Then, Tuesday and Wednesday, your interest moves from inanimate objects to people. The ignition is thrown on your romantic life -- suddenly you and you-know-who are speeding down the highway of love. Travel is a topic of breathless conversation. Thursday and Friday, you revert to a more cool-headed, buttoned-down version of yourself, which is calculated: You want something; you're trying to give a certain impression. This weekend, be patient. Week starting on July 18 Save the drama as the week gets started. Instead of engaging in it, try a little more research to develop a better understanding. A partner's in the picture around Wednesday and Thursday, and two heads (or is it hearts?) are definitely better than one. Introduce a new idea to the two of you and see what happens. It's liable to be a great time. Around Friday and Saturday, you might be in a rebellious mode. Just consider carefully who or what you're challenging now -- and why. You're low-key on Sunday, and a tete-a-tete looks to be very productive. Week starting on July 25

108

Friends are in your personal stars as the week kicks off. Workplace camaraderie feels great, and a new off-the-clock connection can truly blossom beautifully. Looks like you're in a mellow mood from sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday -- could it be that you're sorting something out? Perhaps something deep? Don't forget to let your instincts weigh in; they're excellent now. You're feeling excellent yourself starting late Thursday and through most of the weekend. Everything that's wonderful, generous, lovable and creative about you is highlighted. The world's truly your oyster!

Week starting on July 4 Ralph Waldo Emerson said, 'Self-trust is the first secret of success.' In other words, your successes on Monday and Tuesday speak to something deep within you. No wonder you're grinning like a goofball. Use your surge of energy to help someone who hasn't had the luck that you've had lately. Wednesday through Friday, as you mull a major purchase, expect to be plagued by doubts; this is what happens to people who think things through. Your friends are available to help allay your anxieties. Spend Saturday and Sunday listening: It's amazing how much you learn with your mouth closed. Week starting on July 11 You are more in touch with your emotions on Monday than you have been in a while. Consequently, you're asking more probing questions of others than they're used to being asked -- and the answers you're getting are

109

deep. Tuesday and Wednesday see you being daring in other ways, too, but not being wild. You have a lot of responsibility this week, at least until Thursday and Friday, when your hard work pays off and you have some free time at your disposal. What's more, you have someone who makes your heart jump to spend it with. Saturday and Sunday are illuminating. Week starting on July 18 Relationships might need a little breathing room at the beginning of the week. Instead of pushing an agenda, step back and see the real potential. If money's involved, it's very important to nail down the details around Wednesday and Thursday. Yes, it's a sensitive issue, but if you don't address it now, there could be trouble later. Looks like you're ready to branch out from Friday through the weekend, maybe solo, or perhaps with a partner in crime. Make a plan that allows for the random factor that's coming your way. Week starting on July 25 While your mind's working splendidly as the week gets started, the brain-to-mouth connection could be a little problematic. Don't turn off that internal editor, because how you say it is just as important as what you say. Somebody, or maybe a whole crew of somebodies, is ready to lend you a hand around Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. These people could be from work, in your family or even perfect strangers. From Friday through the weekend, your challenge is to maintain flexibility, both of body and mind. Do some yoga, then change your plans at the last minute. It'll feel great.

110

Week starting on July 4 No one can accuse you of not thinking this through. You've thought it through so much that different warring personalities within your head are duking it out. At a certain point, you have to shut all that off and take a nap. When you wake up, things might be clearer. Wednesday through Friday see you finding balance, appreciating the beauty of the changing season, socializing and possibly falling in love (or falling deeper into love, as the case may be). Nevertheless, this weekend brings an uninspiring mishmash of financial matters that demand your attention. Week starting on July 11 As the Chinese proverb goes, 'Money cannot purchase what the heart desires.' This is important to remember on Monday, when money is on your mind. What is it you really want? Tuesday and Wednesday are an exploration of sorts, accomplished mostly through conversations -wonderful, exciting, hilarious conversations -- with friends. Thursday and Friday are less wonderful and hilarious (an authority is breathing over your shoulder, your past seems to be bearing down on you uncomfortably) but the weekend has everything you could want from a weekend: activity, romance, etc. Week starting on July 18 It looks like something or somebody might throw you off early this week, but getting too riled up about it isn't the most appropriate response. If it's relationship related, there may be a way to find a compromise, and

111

Wednesday and Thursday are prime for such discoveries. You can perceive new levels when it comes to situations, and you can also locate common ground now. Gratitude and smooth sailing are your reward, and from Friday through the weekend, your natural grace looks great. Romance is favored, too.

Week starting on July 25 Your mind's sharp and your instincts are good as the week gets going, and it's an excellent time to share what's in your heart. Anything (or even anyone) new is favored for you now. From sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday, however, it's best to chill out and stick with what's working. Finish up a current project instead of kicking off a fresh one, and save any major romantic stuff for later. Sometime around Friday, you'll have a more accurate big-picture view of your personal scene -- and through the weekend, the view looks better and better. Enjoy!

Week starting on July 4 For thousands of years, human beings have longed to know other people's secrets. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's stirring lines 'My soul is full of longing for the secret of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me' is a beautiful evocation of this longing. The secret that you learn in the first half of the week has nothing to do with the sea; nevertheless, it lights you up. Wednesday through Friday see you discovering many new things about yourself every few hours, and

112

Saturday and Sunday are nothing short of incredible: intense, magnetic, powerful. Week starting on July 11 The simple fact that you have a vision for the future, and that you're able to talk about it in a way that makes other people look forward to it, sets you apart on Monday. An intensity surrounds you. Your gait turns heads. Tuesday and Wednesday, you're pinching yourself -- not because you're sitting on a pile of gold coins, but because everything you could want for your life seems possible. The work ahead of you hardly seems like work at all. Thursday and Friday, you are more determined than ever. Powerful people are joining your team. This is the start of something big. Week starting on July 18 An element of surprise works in your favor as the week gets started. Use that impeccable sense of timing to show just how jaw-droopingly great you can be. Then, around Wednesday or Thursday, it may be tempting to get into a tangle with someone. But what do you have to gain? It could get way stickier than you think. Expect some excitement on Friday or over the weekend. If you want things to get even more intense (and knowing you, you do), let your real feelings be known. Be a little vulnerable -- and be ready for just about anything! Week starting on July 25 Handle all work-related stuff with extra care and your boss with kid gloves as the week begins. Resist the urge to do something risky. You'll be glad you did. From sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday, though, your intuition's spot-on. Oddly, getting what you want may just be a matter of letting your original plan go. Around Friday and even this weekend, stressing out is one way to react to the situation; it's up to you to find a

113

better one. To preempt freaking out, get proper exercise and rest, and talk about what's up with you now.

Week starting on July 4 Skipping a few steps now will put you temporarily ahead, but your lead won't last. And then where will you be? You'll have to retrace your steps. Better to get everything done in order. Processes and procedures are endlessly frustrating to you the first half of the week, but practice patience. Wednesday through Friday are much better days in almost every way: You happen to be spending all your time around people who want nothing more than to spend all their time around you. You go into the weekend with an overactive imagination and almost no plans. Perfect. Week starting on July 11 Just because you want to be alone on Monday doesn't mean you're unhappy. On the contrary! You just want more time to dwell in the cozy alternate dimension of your subconscious. Your dreams are incredible these days. On Tuesday and Wednesday you're more social, and in your arsenal is a new stupid joke sure to make anyone with any sense of humor shoot coffee through their nose. Deploy it sparingly. Thursday and Friday you're wise to save your pennies. Be entertained by watching the shapes that clouds make or by taking an epic walk. This weekend you meet someone who might become a fast friend.

114

Week starting on July 18 You'll need a serious kick-start if you want to get anything accomplished at the beginning of the week. Get the blood pumping with exercise and eat right for energy, and you might just be able to concentrate. When Wednesday and Thursday come, though, you're on fire -- thinking fast, making the right moves and wowing anyone and everyone. Fanning the flames of romance is favored now, too. Duty of some sort calls this weekend, and if you get right on it, you might just be surprised by the pleasure you'll take in getting it done. Week starting on July 25 Life looks busy at the beginning of the week, but don't forget to consciously choose your path. You're the captain of your destiny, and your actions speak at least as loud as your words. Relationships of all varieties figure prominently from sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday. Put the people factor first, and be ready to negotiate and compromise, rather than ignore an issue or walk away. Life looks fabulous starting later on Thursday and lasting through most of the weekend. Let your sense of fun (and some amazing luck!) be your guide.

Week starting on July 4 A few puzzle pieces that disappeared under the couch cushion resurface at the start of the week and complete a picture you've been working on for a while. Your ducks are in a row. You're ready for the next stage. This

115

entire week is about pursuing projects of your own devising, be they professional or romantic or social. You are very much the leader, but you certainly can't do this on your own. Wednesday through Friday, the challenge is in figuring out how to inspire a bunch of people who are all motivated by different things. This weekend, bring a few more pals into the fold. Week starting on July 11 Something that you've tried and failed to do before is suddenly accomplishable on Monday -- so go for it. Chances are you won't be able to do it alone, but you have a fairly incredible crew of friends standing by to give you a hand. Tuesday and Wednesday, spend some time figuring out how to break apart another big goal into tangible, tactical steps. How are you getting so much done? And how do you still have a smile on your face? These are the things that everyone else wonders at the end of the week and through the weekend. Week starting on July 18 If you're going to email someone early in the week, call instead. Or, better yet, say it face-to-face. Your personal touch is terrific now, whether it's work related or personal. Expect some static around Wednesday or Thursday. Someone or some issue may be stressing you out, or your carefully planned schedule may get all mucked up. Just do your best and wait for things to smooth out, which should happen around Friday. Fun and love are highlighted through the weekend, with your powers of attraction seriously magnified. Sweet! Week starting on July 25 Thinking clearly is key as the week gets under way. Figure out what makes you feel centered, grounded and high-functioning, then do it and take on

116

the world. From sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday, you may be having that 'grass is greener' sensation. Take your desire for something different into serious consideration, but make any major changes slowly, in increments. Then take special care with work and projects on Friday and Saturday. Have a backup plan (and maybe a fire extinguisher!). Reach out on Sunday; your touch is wanted.

Week starting on July 4 Be as clear as possible on Monday and Tuesday -- you don't want a flaky person to be able to say that they didn't know what they were getting into later on down the road. Doing projects with a group is never a cakewalk because everyone has their own reasons for wanting to participate. And, as the second half of the week proves, these reasons are often not what you would guess. That's why it's important to ask questions and really listen to the answers. Saturday and Sunday, take a break from the group and treat yourself to the movies. Week starting on July 11 It's as if someone flung open the doors to your emotions on Monday and the outside world is peering in to see what you're made of. You feel exposed, to say the least. You feel like doing something that has nothing to do with yourself -- a wise impulse. Tuesday and Wednesday, apply your energy toward a group of people: do some volunteering, identify someone at work who needs help with something, offer to organize a gathering, something along these lines. When someone asks you how you're doing,

117

answer creatively. Thursday and Friday you're exhausted, but this weekend you're buzzing. Week starting on July 18 What do you really want -- and what's not going to cut it? It's heavy stuff for the beginning of the week, but don't get sidetracked from core values and goals. You'll be in a fine position to think bigger around Wednesday and Thursday, when your personal possibilities suddenly expand exponentially. Keep your schedule open now! Something that seems mundane on Friday or over the weekend has an odd element, one that demands attention. And starting Sunday, that odd element may have everything to do with love. Week starting on July 25 Get online, on the phone or in touch in any and every way as the week kicks off, especially if you have a romantic connection. You're on it when it comes to communication now. From sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday, however, it's internal talk that may occupy you. Find ways to tune into your inner voice among the busy day-to-day. That voice has something major to say! Then it's your creative powers that figure prominently from late Thursday and through the weekend. Exercise that imagination ... learn, love and live fully. On Sunday, though, don't lose track of something important.

118

Week starting on July 4 Better to feign shyness on Monday and Tuesday than to jump down other people's throats; keep that in mind when you feel the urge to criticize someone you barely know. At the very least, take some time to figure out how they tick first. Be interested in what they know that you don't. Wednesday through Friday, you are more open to new theories than usual, mostly because you've been thinking about making a change in your own life. How do other people find balance? What makes them happy? It makes sense that your emotions are all over the place this weekend. Week starting on July 11 Monday is a hall-of-mirrors day. Rather than agree to anything new -especially anything in writing -- stick to the plans and people and places you're used to. Nothing ominous is afoot, just a fuzzy, unsure feeling. Tuesday and Wednesday you're confronted with the hard, clear reality of a frustrating boss (work troubles zap all your energy midweek), but Thursday or Friday brings reassurance from a friend in a high place. You're well connected and, on Saturday and Sunday, you want to help as many people as possible. Week starting on July 18 Your generosity with affection and your honesty regarding emotions has enormous ripple effects as the week gets started. Dreams can come true now, perhaps in particularly unexpected ways! Life and love are a bit of a

119

puzzle, though, around Wednesday and Thursday, and you might be missing a key piece. The person or occurrence you think has the answer probably doesn't. Look within, and get ready for things to make a lot more sense starting Friday. You can write your own ticket now. So where do you want to go? Week starting on July 25 You're much more likely to give an indirect answer than a simple yes or no as the week begins, and hey, it's your choice. Maybe you just need a little more time to think, because from sometime Tuesday through most of Thursday, you're ready for action. Romance can really heat up, and your greatness is appreciated in all areas of your life now. Take advantage of the energy to start something new. Another hint: Take particularly good care of your health from Friday through the weekend. It may be a bit delicate, so be smart and keep in balance.

120

You'll be able to count on the frankness and honesty of your friends. It'll be necessary to question the validity of some of the choices that you decided on with enthusiasm and conviction. At work, your creative imagination will be at its peak, and you'll have great chances to obtain the promotion that you've been dreaming about. Couple life subject to bad conditions. In general, you'll have an interest in being very careful in the management of your finances; don't spend for what is useful, but only for what is

121

absolutely indispensable.

You'll be able to widen your horizons and to have more intensive contacts with your friends and acquaintances. Don't take things too much at heart: with some aloofness, you'll have a better view of things and then everything will fare better. You're most likely to be confronted with sentimental problems which are difficult to solve; listen to your heart! You love your friends and intend to maintain good relations with them; but this time you're likely to clash seriously with one of them; try to empty the abscess before it ulcerates your contacts.

You could without fear confide yourself to your best friends, and they'll be

122

able to advise you usefully. A climate very favorable to an improvement of the conditions of everyday work; but it'll be necessary to be cautious on the associative plane. Money problems may be the cause of quarrel with your close relations; be careful. You'll give yourself totally to the person whom you love; however, if problems occur, don't close yourself up like an oyster while bitterly regretting your communicative attitude.

Efforts will have to be made to overcome your usual reserve and express your feelings: that's what will be expected of you. Excellent physical and psychological resistance. Heartwise, you'll feel a great need for tenderness; don't look somewhere else for happiness that's just simply at your home. Soften down your tendency to criticize everyone and everything. You'll tend to make a show of yourself; be careful that this comportment doesn't harm you and drive your most faithful friends away.

123

You'll succeed at best possible in inspiring confidence and in getting increased responsibilities. You'll have to cope with staunch adversaries, but it's you who'll triumph. Be careful if you practice sports or if you drive a car. Don't let yourself be blocked by fixed ideas: question them! In your family life, disturbing events may occur; you'll clearly say what's on your mind, which may hurt, but at least will have the appreciable advantage of clarifying the situation.

You'll be able to adapt yourself easily to circumstances and draw the best possible advantages from them. Healthwise, you'll finally recover all your vitality: no more sinking feelings and lacks of tonus as in the previous periods! Don't wrap yourself up at the slightest blow to your self-pride; be less emotional. Like a rock, you'll be there to manage to settle family problems as soon

124

as they turn up.

This month will see a clear improvement of your material situation; you'll be able to carry out profitable transactions. If you live in couple, it'll be time to take stock of the situation seriously so as to clarify your relations. You might have to make a vital decision quickly; show prudence above all, play it safe! You're likely to suffer from headaches and migraines; a good way of curing this would be to avoid overcrowded places, polluted or hectic atmospheres; also take some rest, and everything will be better.

All the odds will be on your side and at the highest level; what's essential is to go forward with ardor and astuteness. The stars will support your ambitions, allowing you to be appreciated and

125

recognized in your research or your work. Discrete assistance can be given in the nick of the time by some of your relatives or friends. In spite of the psychic distance which separates you from the object of your love, you'll have the feeling that everything isn't lost; as always, trust your excellent intuition, which almost never deceives you.

Worries due to thorny family questions could have a harmful effect on your physical state. It will be in your interest to take time to think so as to thwart the dangers that are threatening you at this moment. Your love affairs will be favorably influenced, and you can expect many satisfactions in this field. Several planetary dissonances will affect your sign; redouble prudence regarding your health; avoid all excesses, particularly with food and sex.

126

Good month for going forward: you'll be motivated to act, you'll have ambition, and you'll believe in your chance. You'll have an almost irresistible desire for spending; be careful, a financial storm is coming soon! Don't worry too much about your love life: everything will straighten itself out according to your wishes. You'll be on the road to success: nothing will come to slow down your professional progress, and you'll go straight ahead, with self-assurance and determination; all the same be careful of some jealous ones!

Excellent month to make decisions that are slightly based on intuition and much on common sense. Keep your spirits up in spite of your problems, for everything will sort itself out rather quickly. For couples, understanding will be good; moderate your words and show

127

small attentions, which can arrange many things. Keep watch on your children. You'll feel out of sorts and not very much motivated; some rest and a more regular life pace should quickly get you back in shape; don't forget to practice a sport despite your lack of time.

You'll feel romantic, with certain nostalgia for the past. Don't wake up your dead love affairs: you may cause forgotten sufferings to come back At work, don't get involved in quarrels between your colleagues. Pecuniary questions will be at the center of your concerns; strict savings will have to be made. Once again, someone will appeal to your generosity; don't expect gratitude: this hardly exists, but it's not a reason to close your heart.

128

Wheel of Fortune Inverted: As this month begins the money comes flowing in.

129

Ace of Cups Inverted: The road you have been following is no longer stable, it is time to expand your horizons and stand up for what is in your heart.

Queen of Pentacles Inverted: Be conscious of your inner voice, pay close attention for things are not as they seem.

130

Moon Divine: Enemy's are closer than you know, beware of false friends.

Ace of Wands Divine: The opportunity for success will present itself based on a project or hobby that you have started.

131

Ten of Pentacles Inverted: Make your moves and choices carefully you may have stumbled upon a dangers game...

Page of Cups Inverted: Although an opportunity seems attractive from afar remember to take a closer look. For the deal is not as sweet as it looks. Remember to look for the fine print.

Bikers Against Child Abuse International Breaking The Chains Of Abuse

http://bacaworld.org/about/mission/

MISSION BACA Mission Statement Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. We desire to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of our

135

organization, and that we are prepared to lend our physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and our physical presence. We stand at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. We do not condone the use of violence or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, we stand ready to be that obstacle. How BACA Works Bikers Against Child Abuse, Inc. (BACA) is organized with a central contact person to receive calls from referring agencies and individuals. A recognized, authorized agency with which the child has had contact determines that the child is still frightened by his or her environment. The agency representative contacts BACA, or refers the individual to contact BACA and the name and address of the child is given to our BACA/Child Liaison. The Liaison determines that the case is legitimate, meaning that the authorities have been contacted, and the case in being processed within the system. The Liaison contacts the family and an initial ride is organized to meet the child at their home or in some other location. The entire BACA chapter rides to meet the child and he/she is given a vest with a BACA patch sewn on the back. The child is free to wear the vest or not, and we support their decision. The child is also given bumper stickers, and other gifts that are generally donated by the public. These initial visits generally last about a half an hour. Following this initial contact, the child is given the name and number of two BACA members residing geographically closest to them, who then become the childs primary contact person(s). Prior to becoming the primary contacts for the child, the bikers are cleared for participation by clearing an extensive background check, have ridden with the Chapter for at least a year, and have received special instructions from the Licensed Mental Health Professional. Anytime the child feels scared and feels the need for the presence of his new BACA family, the child may call upon these bikers to go to the childs house and provide the necessary reassurance to feel safe and protected. BACA members and supporters also support the children by: providing escorts for them if they feel scared

136

in their neighborhoods; riding by their homes on a regular basis; supporting the children at court and parole hearings; attending their interviews, and; staying with the children if they are alone and frightened. The BACA members never go to the childs house alone and never without the knowledge or permission of the parents. Our mission is not to be permanently engaged as the childs power. Our mission is to help the children and their families learn how powerful they can be. Our presence will be available as long as the child needs us. BACA also holds other functions for the children such as Bar-B-Ques, and parties. Level 1 Intervention Will consist of the organization deploying a ride, uniting as many BACA members as are able to attend. We will ride as a group to the childs house where the parent(s) / Guardians will be present to assist us in presenting the child with a patch, stickers, and a photograph of the child with his/her new biker family. If the child is afraid, it is our hope the child will use the photograph as a comfort to convey the message I am not alone, and you dont want to mess with my family. Level 2 Intervention If Level one is not sufficient to deter further abuse or harassment, several BACA members will be sent for further exposure. This group of BACA members will create a presence at the home of the child, being visible at times when the family might be the most vulnerable. The purpose of BACAs presence is to deter further abuse and to protect the children and the family, if necessary. Level 3 Intervention If the physical presence of our BACA members at the residence of the childs home does not deter the abuser, a formal letter will be drafted by the Chapter President or Vice-President in the area in which the abuser lives. This letter will be written on BACA letterhead. The substance of the letter will be to explain to the perpetrator that we are prepared to take whatever steps are necessary to become the obstacle to further abuse.

137

Level 4 Intervention While it is against the purpose of BACA to purposely engage a perpetrator, we will ask for the general geographical location of the offender, and conduct a Neighborhood Awareness Ride in which we will ride to the general location given to us and go door to door letting people know who we are, hand out stickers to kids, and distribute our literature regarding our mission and how we function. If the location or address of the perpetrator becomes known to any BACA Member, we will immediately withdraw our physical presence to avoid any contact. BACA does not condone, support or participate in the use of aggression, violence or physical force in any manner. If, however, ANY person should seek to inflict harm on one of our BACA Members, we will respond with commitment and loyalty to protect our Member. Our Court Appearances We also attend court with our wounded friends. The sole purpose for our physical presence is to assist the child in being less intimidated and frightened, and subsequently give an accurate testimony regarding his/her abuse. If the child requests our presence in the courtroom, the parent or guardian for the child must petition the childs attorney, who then will intercede on behalf of the child to the presiding Judge. Absolutely no physical confrontation of the perpetrator will be tolerated by BACA, and anyone acting in such a manner will be acting outside of the scope of BACA and will be held completely and solely accountable for his/her actions. When possible, the two bikers assigned to the child as his/her primary contacts should be in attendance. Given that it is not always possible for the primary contact bikers to be in attendance, a petition may be made to the general membership for their attendance and support. A listing of the court dates and times will be kept and updated on the BACA hotline at all times. BACA Creed I am a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse. The die has been cast. The

138

decision has been made. I have stepped over the line. I wont look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past has prepared me, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. Im finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I dont have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by the faith in my works, and lean on the strength of my brothers and sisters. I love with patience, live by prayer, and labor with power. My fate is set, my gait is fast, my goal is the ultimate safety of children. My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are tried and true, my Guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I wont give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and showed up for all wounded children. I must go until I drop, ride until I give out, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me, for He will see my BACA backpatch and know that I am one of His. I am a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse, and this is my creed.

Tesla has been in the business of making music since 1984, first getting their start in Sacramento, California under the name City Kidd. They changed their name to Tesla for marketing purposes. They chose to name themselves after Nikola Tesla, a

162

19th century electrical engineer and inventor, during the recording for their first album, Mechanical Resonance (1986), because some of their song titles and lyrics related to the man. They went on to release seven more studio albums and become a huge success in the U.S. and U.K. Tesla is set to kick off their most recent world tour October 1, 2008 and release their new album, Forever More, on October 7, 2008 through their label, Tesla Electric Company Recordings. Their new single is I Wanna Live. Meanwhile, Tesla tickets are hard to come by and going fast! Stay tuned for more Tesla tour dates to come!

Posted by Oisin New York City's hardcore scene drew migrants in the Eighties, but as the Lower East Side gentrified, there ceased to be places to squat like Bad Brains and all those other bands in romanticising documentaries. The Result? People still move there, and there are now dozens of homeless crusties inhabiting the park. This blog photographs them, their tattoos and their dogs, and lets them tell their story.

164

http://crustypunks.blogspot.com/ Crustypunks are a tribe of tattooed nomads found in Tompkins Square Park, a locus of idiosyncratic culture and civil unrest in New York City's East Village. "Tried living in a house a few times. It's just garbage." I did a little bit of modeling just for fun and cause like people were asking to take my pictures. If was fun though definitely. Taking pictures for money. It's a good deal. Win win.

I've been on the road, this is my fourth year. But on and off, you know I tried going back to school. Tried living in a house a few times. It's just garbage. It doesn't work for me. I windup getting into way too much trouble and or just going insane in my own brain cause I can't handle all that bull crap. Like having to do stuff for people, like having to feeling the necessity to do everything. Make money. Stress. Too much stress. Like people trying to tell me what to do all the time and what you're supposed to do rather then what you want to do. And I'm not like, when you're younger you think it's supposed to be like, all that like teenage angst and everything or whatever. But once you're not a teenager anymore, it just becomes like part of life that you wanna get away from, all that crap cause it just makes you crazy. It makes people wanna kill people.

And my friends are awesome. People on the road are awesome. Life; you get to live it like one step at a time. In our lives that we live; we live day by day like every second is fate and it's like happening right in front of us. Like we don't have anything. We don't have anything we need or want, we just kinda like go around and just like, it falls into place. Manifestation. I'm sure you've heard about manifestation. Wanting something and then like, knowing that you're going to get it I guess. Like knowing it's going to happen and then it does

165

happen. Knowing that you're not going to go hungry. You can't go hungry. So you're automatically going to get fed. Knowing you're going to have a place to sleep. You're automatically going to have a place to sleep. Like a lot of people think that it's scary but it's not even scary. Cause it's like, fuck.

Cause none of us try. But look at how happy we are. How we just get to like; we get everything, we get everything. It's not like we're asking for everything. Boom. I don't know how to explain it. I don't know how to explain it other then that, if you know what I mean. It's like cut into the ground already and we're just falling after it. I just feel like this is my job. This is like my job, when your job is to do what you do. The president's job is to do what he does and you know everybody's got a job and maybe mine's not one you get paid for but it's still a job. I get to go around and meet everybody and talk to people and tell them about, about this and I don't know. I feel like it's my job. I dunno.

I do. I do get paid for what I do. You know what I mean. I get paid, just because people don't understand me so automatically. Automatically when you think like someone is in trouble, you offer them money. It's like the world just doesn't understand us. What you don't understand your either scared of or you just like. That's why I think everyone's scared of us. They just don't get our life is completely different, But yes we should get paid for it and I think we all do. And that's why we keep doing it.

Confusion, fear, anger. Mostly confusion. Then second anger and then third, like fear kind of. Cause like the angers like, I'd feel like probably like sixty percent of people wished they had done this themselves. At least went out, not necessarily what I do because I've been doing it for four years right. But at least when I got out of high school and stuff. At least like wished they had

166

went traveling and seeing the country where your born in, where you've grown up your whole life. Like I don't watch the news but I still know what's going on. And I'm not scared because I am like the news. I get to see what's really going on. Even though I don't get to hear about huge things like shooting's and stabbings, do I want to surround myself with that kind of information all day? Do I want to live in fear every single day? Not particularly. I'd rather just like go, be smart, be safe. You know what I mean? And you definitely have to be smart to do what we do, even though we might seem like a bunch of dumb ass people because we like to have fun and whatever but. You have to be smart otherwise your going to wind up another headline in the news. I wouldn't change anything for the world. But I wish people would realize we're not here to hurt anybody.

Hunt And Capture By: Andrew

The thrill of the chase and reward of the prize what more could anyone want. In this sene you are both at each other's mercy for how long will your sub make u chase before she lets you catch her/him and then what will you do once you do catch her/him. The one of the things I love about this sene is it can take place anywhere bringing many different forms of role play into it from the taking the sub hostage and driving her/him to a woods and then releasing the sub, of course after you tell them all that u are going to do to them when you catch them, or to a struggle where the sub gets free and makes a run for it. This sene would make for a good weekend camping trip and one that could be played out for the whole weekend.

For many people they seem to get lost on what to do once you capture your sub well wow the ideas there are limitless for now the sub is ready for you to act and please her/him after all they made you chase them then finally let you capture them to get that pleasure that can only be found in the moment of the chase so what are you going to do? How about this...

174

You could start the capture out with at your place U walk up to your sub putting a gun or knife to there back as U then hand cuff them and put a blind fold over there eyes as you then put them in the car. As U then drive out to the woods. Now from this point you can now pull then out of the car and then either take the cuffs off or just leave them on, be teasing but yet treating as making your intentions known. At this point depending on how you and your partner plays you can turn it into a struggle where the sub eventually gets free and thus begins the true chase or you can tell them all that you have planed to do to them and then give them a head start. So now the chase has begun and make t fun play a bit of hide and seek for this will let the trill of it all come out for this will make the capture much more enjoyable on both parts. Once you do capture your sub you can take this sene into many diffrent areas of play just pick some of your favorites and bring the things you need to act them all out. Now if this was me I would plan this for a weekend and make this into a camping trip, giving you and your sub the whole weekend to enjoy each other, also by doing this way you will both know the area well and will there for be able to take advantage of all that is around and my be used and this way you can explore each other fully and enjoy the out doors like most people only fantasize about nothing like a camp fire and the nite sky full of stars to set a sene wouldn't you say... Just remember to be safe if you do this and make sure if your sene takes place out side that you clean everything thoroughly before you use it again and that any cuts or scratches are cleaned and ointment is applied

175

Rope arm Gauntlet

Rope arm gauntlets are purely decorative. Although weve considered trying to make cuffs out of them, we havent found a good way keep them from tightening up when put under tension. However, they are just the thing for submissive's who are rope sluts, the kind that start to go under when they first feel the touch of the rope. They can wear them all night at parties and constantly have the feeling of rope on their bodies. The same technique can be used to bind the forearms or calves together, or to make rope corsets. This style of gauntlets is based on an old nautical technique, called cockscombing or ringbolt hitching, that was used to cover iron ringbolts while providing a decorative appearance.

176

step 1
To make an arm gauntlet, begin with about a 30-foot length of 5/16-inch rope. (To bind the forearms or calves together, you will need 40 or 50 feet. To make a rope corset, you need a lot more, maybe a few hundred feet.) Double the rope, wrap the loop around the wrist, run the ends through the loop, and pull it snug. (This is called a lark's head.)

step 2
Bring the ends of the rope under the wrist, and bring them over the top again.

177

Step 3 Bring the long end under the rope from the larks head (the one that went under the wrist

Step 4 Make a horizontal loop in the rope, and bring it around the wrist in the opposite direction, coming out underneath the wrist

Step 5 Pull the end through the horizontal loop, so you have two pairs of ropes going through the loop

178

Step 6 Repeat the procedure until you are almost out of rope. Take the two ends, and pass one of them under a loop. (Exactly how you do this will depend on where you are when you run out of rope.

Step 7 Tie a square knot with the two ends. The final result looks like this

179

My Bound Queen
A steal caged box, Lined with chain, Set on display, Are you ready to be pleased, All you have to do is beg, Press your self firm against the cold steal bars, Show me how much you wish to be pleased, As I slide my arm through the bars and constrict your breath, Can you feel the Hardness of the rod between your thighs, As I bind your wrist to the bars, With cane in hand, I enter your cell, Bringing it to bare across your back, Watching you pressing your self firmly against the bars, With each caressing strike, How long as it been since I flogged your breast, As I walk out side your cage, I place the clamps so you dare not move, As I brush the flogger across your breast, Watching the anticipation and pleading in your eyes, With each lash a crossed your breasts, Tears start to glisten your checks, As you try not to break free from the clamps, With eyes closed knowing the next might be the last, With a wicked grin, I bring it across your wetness, As you gasp with anticipation, And scream out in pleasure, As you jerk back Freeing your self from the clamps, As I reach in an undo your restraints, I place a kiss upon your lips,

180

And whisper so only you can hear, You are my Bound Queen, And keeper of my heart.

New York Become's the 6th state to allow Same Sex Marriage

New York passed a bill that many thought would never pass even after Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who campaigned on the issue last year, has promised to sign it. Gay weddings could begin 30 days after that. It has had major opposition; The sticking point over the past few days: Republican demands for stronger legal protections for religious groups that fear they will be hit with discrimination lawsuits if they refuse to allow

181

their facilities to be used for gay weddings. Representatives of the Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox rabbis and other conservative religious leaders are fighting the measure, and their GOP allies have pressed hard for legal protections for religious organizations that object to gay marriage. But as of a few hours ago the bill was passed with many saying the sene with in when it was announced was so overwhelming that it brought many to tears.

As I have read and followed this and read the live comment feeds I find myself sadden by the way some people have reacted for and the fact that we live in a day of age where people shouldn't have to fear what they believe in or what they are or who they chose to love. As far as the church goes it is quit saddening to see them trying to push there views and dictate law, sorry but there is a reason why our forefathers made church and state separate! And the truth is this issue as been around since the beginning of time just kept in secret for fear of what would happen to them if they where caught, and this practice continued for centuries to come. Now we have reach a day were we can truly be who we are and this was a very big win for everyone.

I know that we all need to put all our prejudices aside and learn to grow past all these issues my hope with this bill passing it will hoping those door's. There will still be those that don't agree with this but let us not judge them nor act like them but use this to bring about change and as far as the main issue with other's beliefs let us be respectful of theirs as we want them to be of our's let us be the one's setting the example and leading the way.

Rainbow Flags and Riot Gear

Images from gay pride festivals this weekend in Eastern Europe show a mix of rainbow flags and riot gear offering a starkly visual reminder of the danger and courage needed sometimes to live openly in many places around the world. Police followed gay pride marches through Budapest and other major Eastern European cities this weekend to protect them from attack. Extremist groups had called on followers to stop the parades and festivals. The resulting set of images shows a mix of rainbow flags and riot gear offering a starkly visual reminder of the danger and courage needed sometimes to live openly in many places around the world
