Develop Windows applications used for refractive LASER surgery (LASIK/PRK). Perform as software lead for Alcon's LadarVision 4000 Excimer LASER and as lead designer/developer for Alcon's Custom Surgery Planning Software (CSPS). These applications were developed with MFC, GDI+, and Direct3D. Designed, coded and tested a completely new software application for Alcon in less than one year. Current work involves development of a state-of-the-art web application using technologies such as ASP.NET in C#, AJAX, Microsoft Silverlight (WPF/e), Javascript, and JSON. The application provides a dynamic and rich graphic content. It gives surgeons the ability to create and plan patient surgeries and to analyze and improve surgical outcomes. Other duties involve interfacing with regulatory, clinical, and QA personnel to determine software requirements and test procedures. Write software design documents and produce formal software verification documents for FDA approvals. Consultant: SCREENCO NORTH, INC Software Engineering Consultant, July 2001 February 2002 West Palm Beach, FL

Windows 9x/2000 development using Borland C++ Builder. Developed a CAD application used to design large outdoor screen enclosures. The application provides a GUI interface that allows personnel with minimal training to design elaborate enclosures. The application accesses an SQL database to provide features such as estimating material and labor costs.

Consultant: PITNEY BOWES Shelton, CT Software Engineering Consultant, November 2000 June 2001 Developed a Windows SDK for a new postal metering system. The system integrates a printer, postal scale, and smart card to securely store and dispense funds. The SDK provides application developers with a high level interface to the system. Made recommendations for the systems hardware components. Wrote specifications for and developed a low-level message-based protocol to communicate with an external serial card reader. Developed a Windows NT driver using the Windows DDK to communicate with the scale and printer via IEEE-1284 protocol. Consultant: LEAPFROG SMART PRODUCTS, INC. Maitland, FL Software Engineering Consultant for Oxford International May 2000 February 2001 Leapfrog Smart Products is a provider of Smart Card solutions. Completely developed a PKCS #11 (Cryptoki) security module used to interface Smart Card tokens with Netscape Communicator. The module permits X.509 digital certificates to be stored on a Smart Card and enhances security by allowing key generation and signing to be performed internal to the card. Utilized PC/SC, RSA BSAFE and Cryptlib in developing the module. Worked on the development of a CAPI module. Assisted in the development of a Windows SDK for Leapfrogs biometric fingerprint reader, a reader that combines biometric and Smart Card technology. Implemented ISO 7816 T=1 protocol for the reader. Developed an ActiveX version of the SDK for VB developers. Traveled to China acting as a liaison for Leapfrog. Presented the SDK to several Chinese companies and provided training to software engineers. GERBER SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS Senior Software Engineer, September 1997 February 2000 South Windsor, CT

Gerber Scientific Products produces graphics design software and hardware for the sign making industry. Performed as a lead software developer for Gerbers Graphix Advantage applications suite (similar to CorelDraw and PowerPoint). Worked with Microsoft Visual C++ and MFC in a Windows 95/NT environment. Utilized UML and visual modeling tools in the software development process. Initiated and led effort to move towards a more OO based software architecture using COM and ActiveX. Took initiative to integrate Gerber applications into the Windows shell by utilizing Windows shell extensions. Used COM skills to develop a Windows QuickView plug-in for Gerber plot files. Developed an ActiveX control that handles file conversions to and from Gerber file format. Developed non-standard GUI components and GUI based ActiveX controls. Wrote software requirements and design specifications and formally documented Gerbers plot file format. PITNEY BOWES Software Staff Engineer, February 1995 September 1997 Shelton, CT

Performed as an embedded systems developer. Wrote assembly language applications for Motorola 6805 and Hitachi H8 processors. Experience with Smart Card technology and ISO 7816 communications protocol. Developed one of the fastest DES encryption algorithms in the industry for the 6805 processor. Developed low level communications protocols for ASICs designed at Pitney Bowes. Modified existing motion control software to increase product throughput by 40% and proposed a data compression algorithm used for ASIC instructions that reduced

memory requirements and resulted in lower manufacturing costs. Coordinated activities of six software engineers working on Pitney Bowes ClickStamp application. Worked with Microsoft Visual C++ and MFC to design custom COM interfaces and OLE Controls. Developed client side applications using TCP/IP, DAO and ODBC. Responsible for producing software requirements and software design documentation. OLIN CORPORATION, RESEARCH CENTER Technical Associate, January 1987 February 1995 Cheshire, CT

Development Engineer for Olins Instrument Development Group. Worked with a small team, functioning as sole source of software and electronic expertise.
