CGC Engineering create history by launching one of its kind SOLAR CAR Inspired by the Sun, Motivated by the environment. A solar vehicle is an electric vehicle powered by a type of renewable energy, by solar energy obtained from solar

PROJECT ON C.G.C
panels on the surface (generally, the roof) of the vehicle. Photovoltaic (PV) cells convert the Sun's energy directly into electrical energy. Solar vehicles are not practical dayto-day transportation devices at present, but are primarily demonstration vehicles and engineering exercises, often sponsored by government. Solar arrays located on solar cars are comprised of several photovoltaic cells that convert sunlight into electricity. Many types of solar cell technologies are used that involve monocrystalline silicon, polycrystalline silicon, and gallium arsenide. Solar cars have unique appearances since they are intended to create minimum drag, maximum exposure to sun with the aim to obtain maximum energy, and possess minimum weight. The aim was to develop and build a solar car which is cost effective positive in regards to economy. This is because an electric motor and an electric generator are the same device, basically, and electrical current is fed into such a device, causing it to act as a motor and, Fuel efficient and free from harmful emissions from C.I and S.I engines. Few moving parts, service requirements are less than for conventional cars. Electric vehicles are very quiet. Noise comes only from the electric motors. Added emissions are not produced, since SPV's do not rely on utility-generated electricity.

3 Yet another breakthrough, CGC Mechanical students roll now a HYBRID BIKE . This multi-fuel bike runs on four types of fuel : 1. Petrol 2. Diesel
CHANDIGARH GROUP OF COLLEGES

PROJECT ON C.G.C
3. L.P.G. and 4. Kerosene however the design of petrol, gas, and diesel engines is different and the working of all types of engines are different. Petrol and Gas engine works on otto cycle, diesel engine works on diesel cycle. There is a carburetor in petrol engine, gas atomizer in gas engine and fuel injection system is there in diesel engine. Also the compression ratio for all types of engines is different. The design of combustion chamber for all types of engines is also different. The ignition temperature of kerosene and diesel are 2200C and 2100C respectively therefore both can work on same cycle with minor changes. Specifications of the Modified EngineEngine - 175 cc, 2-stroke Cooling System - Air Cooled Torque - 10 B.H.P. Fuel - Petrol, Kerosene, L.P.G. and Diesel. Starting - Kick Start Fuel Supply - Carburetor, Direct Injection, Gas Atomizer Gear - Constant Mesh, 3-Gears Wheel Base - 120/80 16 (Rear Tyre) and 3.18 (Front Tyre)

CAMPUS RECRUITMENT PROGRAM

Campus Recruitment program for graduating class entails the following:

CHANDIGARH GROUP OF COLLEGES

PROJECT ON C.G.C
Participation IntentCompanies are requested to confirm their participation by sending the participation form, provided as an insert to corporate resource center. Job DescriptionsAdditionally, companies are requested to send detailed job description for the positions they wish to recruit for. Job Description, which should include position responsibilities and a recruiting contact, will be instrumental in attracting student interest. Recruitment ProcessCompanies will be allotted a slot in recruitment program schedule for conducting their final recruitment process. These slots are decided purely by cumulative student preferences. Companies may conduct all pre-final assessments such as group discussions, tests and preliminary interviews prior to the day on which they are slotted. In order to make appropriate arrangements, companies are requested to provide information on their recruitment procedure. In particular companies are requested to furnish information on the approximate size of groups for group discussion, Number of interview rounds and approximate duration of each interview. Corporate Resource Center will solicit this information two weeks prior to commencement of campus recruitment.

Offers & AcceptanceAll job offers should be channeled through corporate resource center. No job offers can be made directly to any students. CRC will communicate the company at the earliest, information on candidates who have finally accepted offers. It is expected that when offers are made companies will make note of the specific terms and conditions as discussed and agreed upon during the

CHANDIGARH GROUP OF COLLEGES

PROJECT ON C.G.C
interview and these will be explicitly stated in the offer form submitted by the company. Internship ProgrammeA very effective way of starting a relationship with Chandigarh Business School is through the summer internship programme. After first year of studies students are required to undergo 6-8 weeks of training in an organizational setting to gain industry exposure. Summer internship not only helps in valuable word of mouth publicity on campus but also gives companies an opportunity to evaluate candidates before committing to a permanent hire. Pre-Placement TalksCompany presentations and pre-placement talks provide students with an opportunity to learn more about company and meet some of the key employees. Companies can make a powerful impression by exposing students to highly knowledgeable employees who can deliver your message and convey your commitment to recruiting at CBS. The schedule for pre-placement talks can be worked out in co-ordination with corporate resource center. This year company presentations will begin from September.
