Prayer & Praise

Pray that the Lord would heal Jim Baker of all his cancer and other illnesses, and restore the strength of his youth. Please pray that our churchs neighbours would be favourable to having the proposed Child Care operating in our facility .Praise God for an excellent English Camp in Granada, Spain, which concluded last week. The other English Camp north of Madrid is now into its second week, with a record of 132 children enrolled, plus some 50 monitors and helpers. It also is going extremely well. Pray for Gods continued blessing on this outreach ministry; it touches a large number of unchurched families each year. Pray especially for "the Bridge," a new parallel activity for teens and graduates of English Camp, in which Christian values are openly discussed. About 15 teens are participating. Are you new to this facility? We know that it can take a lot of energy to attend a new church, so please note that:

Have an opinion?
To move forward intelligently with plans for the proposed Christian Child Care at WHAC, and to even get a license to operate, we need your opinions on a few matters. To help in this, please complete the short on-line survey found through a link on the churchs website.

Ill tell you why I am in favor of New Years Resolutions, even though I know how often they fizzle out. We were made to do something. We were made to make a difference. One of the great illusions of life is that I will give myself credit for being better than I am merely because I internally approve of good deeds. I see an ad for World Vision sponsoring a child and think: Im in favour of that. I read an article about earth-care and think: Im in favour of that. I rate myself as above-average on compassion and justice purely because of passive internal emotional responses. Not good. Better to take one stepeven if its small. Tutor a student. Sponsor a child. Volunteer at a hospital. Give some blood. My friend Wayne Elseywho has also been a big fan/ supporter of Monveefound his life changed when he was watching TV. He saw a shoe wash up on shore after the Asian tsunami. Something inside him wanted to do something. So he got up off the couch. He ended up leading a campaign which sent thousands of shoes where they were most needed, and eventually led to the founding of Soles4Souls, which now gives away a pair of shoes more often than once every 10 seconds. Pretty awesome, Wayne took one step that led to one of the fastest growing non-profit organizations in the world. I encourage you to check out Waynes new book Almost Isnt Good Enough. Buy a couple, give one away, and tell others. Its a great read and 100% of all the proceeds go towards putting shoes on peoples feet that are in need. Take a small step! Meanwhileget off the couch. Untapped Potential!
When the Jungs first attended WHAC, an early impression of theirs was Wow! They have so many budding musicians here! And judging by the crowds around them Sunday after service, they seem to be right! If you would like to explore music, through instrument or song, feel free join them at the front of the auditorium.
