As one of the worlds leading outsourcing companies, Accenture can help the UK health sector deliver better social, economic and health outcomes for the people they serve.
The role of Business Process Outsourcing in addressing NHS challenges
Diagnosing illnesses, caring for patients, saving lives: the health sector should be focused on the delivery of medical services and not HR, finance, and general administration. Those with the skills necessary to deliver these specialist services should spend as much time as possible on them. As much of a health organisations budget as possible should be spent on the provision of medical services. Thats where the sector can benefit from Accenture Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). Accenture is able to reduce both the time medical professionals need to spend on administrative activity and the cost of it. In the same way the health industry invests significantly in the research and development of new drugs and surgeries, Accenture invests in the development of Administration functions, continuously driving to find new ways to improve the user experience and further reduce costs. Finance & Accounting (F&A): A full suite of F&A BPO services including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash and record-to-report, plus recovery and analytics services for the retained finance function. This service can deliver quick savings to the CFO through profit recovery and analytics, improved cash flow (for example, by reducing bad debt, securing early payment discounts and delivering process improvement) and operating cost reduction. Procurement: A complete Procurement BPO solution including sourcing and category management, sourcing support and procurement operations. This service enables organisations to reduce their overall cost of acquiring third-party goods and services (such as medical supplies) and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their procurement operations. HR: A comprehensive HR BPO solution including recruitment, learning, performance and progression, compensation, payroll, benefits and employee life cycle management. This service helps organisations optimise workforce performance and productivity and increases the return on people investment. It can be used to drive better patient care by using HR expertise to focus on critical requirements such as staff rostering and overtime management. Supply Chain Management: A core set of market leading Supply Chain BPO offerings including demand management, supply management, transportation management and materials management This service can help our clients improve supply chain performance, reduce operating costs, improve working capital and avoid technology and implementation challenges. Health Administration: A full spectrum of services that currently address private healthcare administrative functions, but whose principles could easily be applied to servicing the NHS including patient account set up, front end services, enrolment services, provider network services, care management and scheduling. This service can help our clients drive new value, deliver better patient outcomes and lower costs through the analysis and optimisation of core processes complemented with investment in technology.
