With You Always : Many thanks to those who took the time to attend the first session last Tuesday, looking at how we approach family-centred preparation for Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist in the future. Unfortunately there were not many. I have mentioned before that there are no more than six people in the parish currently involved in Sacramental Preparation of parents and children. This would have to change anyway, but is given greater urgency with the changes due in September. Everyone has a responsibility for making the Church a place where others are made to feel at home - if not, we will fail once more to pass on the faith to another generation. To begin with, we need to examine how parents are invited to prepare for the Baptism of their children, and to form teams of parishioners who are willing to assist them in this. Please consider carefully how you may be able to help. The next meeting is on Tuesday evening at 7.00pm in the Parish Centre. Peters Pence : There will be a retiring collection after Mass this weekend for the annual Peters Pence collection. Please Note : There is a Requiem Mass on Monday at 10.00am for Sarah Berry, formerly of School Lane, Garswood. Flower Arranging this week ; Wednesday at 1.30pm in the Smith Room. Flowers provided (5 blooms) using a white cube box. Lourdes Pilgrimage : i) Once again our parish will be well represented by sick parishioners and helpers on the Pilgrimage from 23rd July. Anyone who wishes to join the Pilgrimage spiritually as an Associate by joining in the daily prayer intentions is asked to add your name to the blue card at the back of church. Any donations go towards providing for the needs of sick pilgrims. ii) During the Pilgrimage, we will be hosting a Lourdes at Home day on Wednesday 27th July. Bishop Tom Williams will be joining us for the day, beginning with Mass at 7.30am. At 12 noon there will be a Mass of Anointing for the sick and at 7.30pm Marian Devotions and a torchlight procession will take the place of the normal Novena. Gift Aid : 497.00 Loose Plate : 307.08 Total : 804.08 Many Thanks. Last weeks collection ; Question of the Week :What burden do you need Jesus to help you carry today?
