ASSEMBLING THE FRAME WITH OR WITHOUT THE HOOKING TOOL ASSEMBLING RIM AND LENSES
It is possible to assemble the frame in a very intuitive way by using tiny rubber bands and small pliers (or our special tool)... Insert the lenses in the rim guiding it inside the lens channel. Lock the wire on the lenses with the rubber bands. This assembly of rim and lenses is a stable whole.

CHANNELS CURVATURE COMPENSATION
The grooving of a nominal channel (0,4 x 0,7) with spherical curvature different from the standard (Base 4) on a lens obtained from an exact copy of the shape of the supplied former will bring variations on the length of the channel with respect to the standard lens, increasing with the increase of the curvature and decreasing in the opposite case.

Once the rim is totaly inserted, the hooking teeth will be positioned exactly in front of the bar's bridge, slightly over it. From the inner part of the frame (position show on section ) hold the rim's and bar's bridges with the pliers (endowed with smooth and flat faces in order not to damage the bridges).

Average sufficient compensations are: - offset - 0,10 mm, for an increased curvature from B4 to B6 - offset 0,00 for B4 (no correction necessary) - offset + 0,10 mm, for an decreased curvature from B4 to B0

LOCKING THE FRAME

With the necessary strength close the pliers softly. As shown in section (the pliers act as the special tool) procede to lock the frame. Rotate the pliers slowly forward keeping them closed in the bridges, with the rim's hooking tooth adherent and in front of the bar's bridge.

These rough parameters are marked on the Arquo's formers as a memo for the lab technician and as a constant recall to the precision needed for the correct execution of the lens and channel cut.

To keep invariant the length of the channel it is necessary to enact some compensations by changing the dimension of the lens in the opposite direction to the curve variation, adjusting the lens cutting parameters in order to obtain a positive radial offset (increase the lens dimension to compensate a lower curvature) or negative (to decrease it) in the opposite case.

LENS MOUNTING ARQUO 700 SERIES F.A.R. FULL ACETATE RIM

The Arquo 700 Series FAR is endowed with thin acetate fronts (2 mm width) opened at the nose level where both the rim's browbar locking tooth (I) and the nose pad holder (II) groove are located. On the front frame a square (III) 0,60 x 0,60 mm tooth is located for the usual Arquo reverse channel lens mounting.

F.A.R.
LENS CUTTING AND GROOVING
As in Nylor frames it is possible (but no recommended) to use a flat band to slide the lens on the lens locking tooth. Special attention must be paid in order not to damage the tooth and the frame (on the hedges in particular) since the band easily allows the transfer considerable of force on the frame. Moreover the band requires for itself a further elasticity on the rim side in order to make space for the band extra thickness.

F.A.R.
REMOVING THE LENSES
To remove the lenses proceed as with normal thin acetate frames, pushing out the lens from the center and opening the rim in the middle so that the lens can get out of the lens locking tooth. Proceed by acompayining the exit of the lens from the center with the same action. Alternatively it is possible to free the lens in the center of the frame (bridge area) by pulling the lens toward the external border of the rim. If the lens is tightly inserted into the frame it is possible to ease the operation by warming up gently the frame in order to soften and increase the elasticity of the acetate material, but without causing excessive/irreversible deformations.

GROOVE

( III )

Optical Lenses, Presentation Lenses and Formers hold the same specifications of the standard full steel Arquo. In particular it is necessary to cut and groove the lenses with the same precision, and also to compensate the lens and groove dimension according to lens (groove) curvature variation from the standard Base 4 (Appendix B/2). Admissible tolerance are unchanged (precision mounting).

Lens mounting is done as in a normal acetate frame, with special attention on avoiding damages to the thin acetate frame and lens holding tooth (acetate is a delicate material in comparison with polymeric materials as Nylon). There is no need for special lens mounting tools but it can be useful to lightly heat up the frame to ease the fitting of rigid/large lenses. Front frame and lens holding tooth must not be damaged during the lens mounting process, therefore avoid forcing in too large lenses and heating too much the material (only a small warm up of the frame is allowed in order not to overcome the usual thermal elasticity of the acetate and not to damage the lens locking tooth).

It is possible to grove a channel deeper than the standard (0,40 mm) in order to improve the stability of the mounted lenses. In this case the greater depth of the channel must be matched by an equal enlargement of the lens. For an optimal stable lens fit a channel depth of 0,50 mm is suggested (+0,1mm offset in lens cutting) and the channel walls must be vertical (avoid rounded channels) since the frame lens locking tooth is squared of section. A greater channel depth makes more difficult to remove the lens, increases the risk of damage the lens on the border of the channel (especially for brittle materials like CR39) and the lens locking teeth on the frame.

LOCKING THE RIM ON THE BAR

In order to easily keep the front rim properly locked on the browbar a special stainless steel wedge is supplied. The wedge must be inserted on the central open area of the rim before mounting the lenses and removed at the end of the process. When the wedge is inserted make sure that the rim bar locking tooth is correctly placed in order to allow the proper locking of the rim on the bar.

LENS MOUNTING
To mount the lenses start by inserting the lens from the center of the frame (nose) and checking carefully that the lens locking tooth is correctly inserted in the lens channel (Start). The lens is then continuously guided into the correct position passing through the middle to the external side (Step2). Finish by forcing inside the external edges of the lens by means of an action done with the fingers, pushing inside the lens and pulling the frame border toward the outside, starting with the more edgy corner (usually the one toward the top of the frame) (Step3) and finishing with the remaining one (Step4).
