Introduction:
The Institution of Technicians and Engineers Kashmir is a professional body & educational organisation, registered as public trust under registration No.M-176/166 dated: 18-08-2009.The organisation is working for the development of socio-economic development of Kashmir and Kashmir People, specially the skill sector. The ITE has to improve the skill sector in traditional ways. Beside of this the organisation provide certificate, improving delegating system etc. This organisation is non-governmental organisation, non profit making.
Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir offers unrivalled expertise in providing membership qualifications that are to be recognised through out community as hallmarks of achievement of skills and competences. The information contained in this handbook is designed to help education and training establishments. It provides an outline of services provided and information regarding the programmes (qualifications) for which certification is available. Please note that it does not replace the detailed regulations contained in the Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir rules book (byelaws), nor does it replace detailed information contained in individual information booklets, each of which should be used alongside this booklet.

Roles and services of Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir is an independent organisation operating under Trust Registration Act. It is a non-profit-making body with an income derived mainly from the examination entry fees paid by candidates/members. It is called the Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir because it was founded and financed initially Technicians & Engineers of JK Power Development Department and Industry. It very soon, however, supported local. Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir is dedicated to providing the specific products and services required by our local customers. It is organised into a number of departments, covering the Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir: product development, market development and support, assessment and operations. In order to support our operations we have a number of branch offices, agents and representatives throughout the Kashmir. Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir offers a range of qualifications (known as Licentiateship) in vocational and skill certification. The qualifications developed by Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir are designed to provide a combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge. They are therefore recognised by the whole community as evidence that the holder has the right skills to do a particular job, yet equally they provide a route to further and higher education and training. Since 2009. Associates, licentiates are awarded to candidates who have been successful in all the units of an assessment (examination/test) at a particular level. Certificates of Unit Credit record success in a component of an assessment. Institution of Technicians & Engineers Kashmir does not itself provide training or education courses, nor does it always specify lengths of study preparation. It awards Associates, licentiates for achievement, not attendance on courses. Colleges or other education or training establishments (known as centres ) will enter candidates for assessment when they are deemed to be ready.

Suitable candidates and pre-requisites The selection of students/trainee/members is at the discretion of the introducer and according to any pre-requisites, where they exist, as outlined in the programme level. There are no age limits restricting entry for assessments. No need of academic qualification. Either candidate/members may be supported under total literacy mission. Practical assessments For certain qualifications, practical tests, coursework or project assessments are included. Such assessments may be offered only at those centres where adequate practical facilities, including machinery, tools and equipment, together with appropriate materials, are readily available. Payment of fees for members of ITE for the year 2011-12

ITE membership fees and Licentiateship fee details on how to pay.
The ITE Board of Trustees has agreed to set membership subscription rates in. All ITE membership fees are effective from 1 January 2011. Membership of the ITE runs for 12 consecutive months from date of payment (e.g. an individual joining the ITE in March 2011 would receive a renewal notice in April 2012). Standard ITE membership fees for the year 2011 (Rupees) Senior Members (SMITE) 1000 Rupees Member (MITE) 800 Rupees Associate 300 Rupees Licentiate 200 Rupees Student and apprentice 100 Rupees Supporter /student other than technical 50 Rupees * y It is mandatory for all members to renew the memberships/qualifications on every year in the month of May and Rs.50 will be charged for application and ID card for all new and renew applications. y * Only service charges. Student and apprentice (for duration of course, up to five years)

Please ensure that cheques/bank drafts are crossed at PAR in favour of Institution of Technicians and Engineering (Kashmir) and is "payable at Anantnag".

Licentiateship program
The licentiateship program is a qualification award which is open for all technical/skilled people/persons, who have two (2) to fifteen (15) years of working experience in the concerned trade with relevance with the engineering, Art, management, designing etc. Accordingly on the basis of their experience and test by an assessor appointed by the institution, either by continue professional development or direct method. The award will be given on the recommendations of the board of assessors, and level from 1 to 5 confirmations has taken up with board. The award comprises on a certificate and a professional identity card, and should be renewed yearly basis. The award will touch every subject area where experts are available within the institution. The new candidates have to complete two years (Internal ship) of IPD under our associate or member, who have no working experience but bent to learn specific skill. Eligibility:
Minimum age: 14+ for IPD with Literate (*illiterates will be provided guidance under Total Literacy programme) Minimum age 19+ for Full award of Licentiateship with five year working experience in concern subject area (for level 2) Consent from parent or guardian.

Associateship program
The Membership Committee of the IET decided that an associate member of the Institute is open for all Certificate holder of any trade/branch of occupation /profession. An Associate member shall devote the majority of his/her professional time to the engagement in concerned field of working where he/she has registered and have passed any Industrial trade test of government of India. Candidates for Associate membership must complete an application and include the following materials. Incomplete applications will not be considered. A resume including professional experience/ employment history and educational background showing a minimum of three (3) years of trade related experience as an independent worker or equivalent experience or fill a prescribed form of ITE. Two letters of reference from individuals who are familiar with your work and not your current employer. If possible, please include at least one Associate /Member/corporate of ITE. The Associateship is also open for Licentiateship holder of the Institute with relevant experience and qualification acceptable by the board of assessors of the Institute. The programme is based on the Apprenticeship programme for new candidates. Eligibility: Matriculation or 10+2 with science subjects or (other for designing trade) Minimum age 16+ for IPD For Full award of Associateship age: 18+ with relevant experience, with ITI certificate in related branch/trade. A technical desertion in relevant subject with research/collection*
