RECYCLING AT SPECIAL EVENTS

Look for recycling containers at fairs, concerts or other public events!

Holding an event? Resources are available to help you.

During the planning process, call NRWS at 255-5200 (south county) or 253-4094 for upvalley. They will help you select the right recycling and trash containers for your needs and provide guidelines for successful event recycling. State and County policies require recycling at large events. Plus, recycling will save you money because there is no charge for recycling at large events (south county and north county free services vary) while there is always a charge for trash collection.

PLAN FOR RECYCLING

Include a plan for recycling as you organize your event. Recycling and trash containers should always be paired together. Proper placement and signage for all containers is key. Work with cleanup staff to monitor containers throughout the event. If you are not able to recruit volunteers for end-of-event cleanup, paying for assistance during this critical time is a worthwhile investment.
