Predisposition or a tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a certain idea, object, person, or situation.

Attitude influences an individual's choice of action, and responses to challenges, incentives, and rewards (together called stimuli). Four major components of attitude are (1) Affective: emotions or feelings. (2) Cognitive: belief or opinions held consciously. (3) Conative: inclination for action. (4) Evaluative: positive or negative response to stimuli. An attitude is a hypothetical construct that represents an individual's degree of like or dislike for something. Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or event this is often referred to as the attitude object. People can also be conflicted or ambivalent toward an object, meaning that they simultaneously possess both positive and negative attitudes toward the item in question. Attitudes are judgments. They develop on the ABC model (affect, behavior, and cognition)[1]. The affective response is an emotional response that expresses an individual's degree of preference for an entity. The behavioral intention is a verbal indication or typical behavioral tendency of an individual. The cognitive response is a cognitive evaluation of the entity that constitutes an individual's beliefs about the object.[citation needed] Most attitudes are the result of either direct experience or observational learning from the environment. Negative Attitude OR Bitterness Towards Life Out of Life Experience People say, positive thinking and motivational reading can lift your morale and do seem to work in helping you move in the direction of your ultimate destination. However for few people, their existing manner of survival is exactly contrary to this belief, which brings them a sense that they have already lost the battle of the life. They surrenders themselves to the drift of life without complaining. Over the period of time, this latent accumulation of suppressed negative emotions in their psyche develops negative attitude towards life and brings apathetic resignation towards their monotonous lifestyle. Normally people facing such adversities tend to blame others or even to their own fate for their failures. Obviously they could not tolerate the grace, success or progress of others. They get resentful and bitter when find that others are happy. Their surrounding factors can bring only the resentment and ultimately frustration for them.

Attitude accessibility refers to the activation of an attitude from memory in other words, how readily available is an attitude about an object, issue, or situation. Issue involvement is the relevance and salience of an issue or situation to an individual. Issue involvement has been correlated with both attitude access and attitude strength. Past studies conclude accessible attitudes are more resistant to change

The right attitude to take is not to let insults, sarcasm, rudeness, ridicule or mockery bother you. Why respond negatively to such behaviors of other people? It doesn't pay to strike back contemptuously at them. If you do, you are showing that you are emotionally weaker. Show that you are emotionally stronger, that you do not have to trade insults with insults, that what they say or do does not bother you at all. Show the dignity that they do not have. The pain is not in what he insensitive people say about you or do to belittle you. The pain is in how you interpret and react to such acts. .Very often, we negatively over-react to, or "read" too much into, what people say or do. It's a case of seeing what we want to see, regarding an issue as big when it could really be insignificant. Even if people in reality are downright inhuman, you can choose to ignore their behavior or not view it negatively at all. That is real self mastery. We can feel much better when we know the importance of attitude. What is the value of intellect, imagination, education, knowledge, wisdom, experience, competence and talent if you adopt a negative attitude every day? You need to have positive attitude everyday. The world will change too when you choose positive attitude. You will see the importance of attitude when you do this.

To expand on what the writer in the church leaflet said, attitude can make or break a person. Either you are in charge of or you lose charge of your attitude. This is the importance of attitude. Corporate Social Responsibility - What does it mean? CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society. Take the following illustration:

Companies need to answer to two aspects of their operations. 1. The quality of their management - both in terms of people and processes (the inner circle). 2. The nature of, and quantity of their impact on society in the various areas. Outside stakeholders are taking an increasing interest in the activity of the company. Most look to the outer circle - what the company has actually done, good or bad, in terms of its products and services, in terms of its impact on the environment and on local communities, or in how it treats and develops its workforce. Out of the various stakeholders, it is financial analysts who are predominantly focused - as well as past financial performance - on quality of management as an indicator of likely future performance. Other definitions The World Business Council for Sustainable Development in its publication "Making Good Business Sense" by Lord Holme and Richard Watts, used the following definition. "Corporate Social Responsibility is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large" The same report gave some evidence of the different perceptions of what this should mean from a number of different societies across the world. Definitions as different as "CSR is about capacity building for sustainable livelihoods. It respects cultural differences and finds the business opportunities in building the skills of employees, the community and the government" from Ghana, through to "CSR is about business giving back to society" from the Phillipines.

Traditionally in the United States, CSR has been defined much more in terms of a philanphropic model. Companies make profits, unhindered except by fulfilling their duty to pay taxes. Then they donate a certain share of the profits to charitable causes. It is seen as tainting the act for the company to receive any benefit from the giving. Business for Social Responsibility is: "Operating a business in a manner that meets or exceeds the ethical, legal, commercial and public expectations that society has of business?. ,the European Commission hedges its bets with two definitions wrapped into one: "A concept whereby companies decide voluntarily to contribute to a better society and a cleaner environment. A concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis".
