SRS FOR ONLINE INTERNAL EXAMINATION SYSTEM

1. Introduction:An online internal examination system is useful to automate manual exam. In manual exam, a student gives exam with or paper in which he has to choose one among several choices and mark into his copy then examiner check the answer sheet and gives marks. Then he made the result. Like manual examination, in our online internal examination system, student has several choices among them he has to mark the correct answer and gives his paper with the help of mouse. The correct answer and his marks will be shown on screen after completion of test immediately.

1.1 Purpose:

This SRS contains all information and functionality that internal examination system can do . SRS helps the developer to understand the requirements of client clearly for the development of the software. Some hardware and software requirements also specified in SRS which are appropriate for the application for running.

1.2 SCOPE:

Scope of this project is not broad in terms of other manually taking exams. Few of them are:A. Maximum 100 students can give their exam simultaneously. B. This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate world. C. No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the test. D. This project is currently having records of 500 students per year that means 2000 records of students for the entire session(4 yrs.).

y WAS Web sphere application server community edition is an application server that runs and supports the J2EE and web service applications. y HTTP Hyper-text transfer protocol is a transaction oriented client/server protocol between web browser and a web server. y HTTPS Secure hypertext transfer protocol is a hypertext transfer protocol over secure socket layer. y TCP/IP Transmission control protocol/internet protocol is the communication protocol used to connect hosts on the internet. y LAN- local area network used to connect the server and the client computer on local area.

Online internal examination system is an intranet based project which is used to conduct online examination in the institution.

Provide the respective authorities to the different users. Setting and modifying different types in test paper. Accepting students enrollment. Verifying registration form. Generating result of each student. Sending e-mail and SMS to student for their result.

2.4 USER CHARACTERISTICS:

In this project all users must have knowledge of English language and fundamental knowledge of Computer operations. They must have a little experience about online examination. users of this system are: STUDENT: He will appear for the online examination. FACULTY: another user mostly faculty member lecturer or examiner who posts set of questions , the available options and their answers. ADMINISTRATOR: super user adds faculty and manage system.
