Coaching Experience Official Coaching Experience: Bad Axe School District 2006-07 Freshmen Girls Basketball 2006-07 Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball 2006-07 7th Grade Boys Basketball 2006-07 Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball 2007-08 Junior Varsity Boys Basketball 2007-08 Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Owosso School District 2009-2010 Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball 2010-2011 Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Volunteer Coaching In the summer of 2004 I also had a summer AAU team in Midland, Michigan at Hangtime Sports that I was coaching 7th and 8th grade boys. I have been a volunteer coach at the Bay City YMCA in 2007-2009, working with 9-12 year old boys basketball players. From 2001 to 2008 I was a basketball camp counselor and official at Hope College summer team camps. From 2001 to 2005 I was a camp counselor, official, and mentor for students and teams attending Saginaw Valley State University summer camps. These camps included both boys and girls camps and covered a wide range of age groups. Coaching Philosophy Defensively my teams play tough man to man defense and solid zone defense. I like to use a lot of different styles of defenses to change it up, but all based on solid man principles. I like my teams to play at a fast pace and with a sense of urgency. Offensively my teams have a lot of freedom to play their own style, but within the confines of our offense. I run precision plays with many variations and options. I also like my teams to be able to play up-tempo during the full course of the game. It is my belief that all coaches must be the best role models that they can for their students. That is why I have always tried to install the acronym PRIDE into all of my players. To me the letters stand for: Perseverance, Resiliency, Intensity, Determination, and Effort. If I model these attributes and get my students to follow them as well, then I believe I have taught the students far more then just winning and losing. The word PRIDE is what I am all about and what my team will be represent. References and Letters of Recommendation upon request
