(1) - "Faith is hope and belief in the goodness or trustworthiness, of a person, con cept or entity." (6) - Faith - from latin fidem or fides (= trust); - Opposed to reason - but faith may provide more than reason - Faith and its synonyms: faithfulness, obedience, trust, dependence - Faith vs. experience - Faith may be rather defined as worship than as obedience - Faith and tradition Islamic faith - iman = belief, safety and security. Iman-e-Mufassal: I have faith in Allah and His Angels, His Books and His Messengers, and the Day of Judgement and that all good and evil and fate is fro m Almighty Allah and it is sure that there will be resurrection after death. (5) - "Surely, those who believe, those who are Muslims, Jewish, the Christians, and the Sabians; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. T hey have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve." 2:62 - Faith in need "When some trouble toucheth man he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he doth set up rivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from Allah's Path. Say, 'Enjoy thy diselief for a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of the Fire!'"(4) - Hypocrites are also refused - "The desert Arabs say, 'We believe.' Say, 'Ye ha ve no faith; but ye (only) say, 'We have submitted our Wills to Allah,' for not yet has Faith entered your hearts." (Surat 49:14) (4) - Faith and Acts - 17. Qur'an 4:95 "Not equal are believers who sit home and rec eive no hurt and those who Fight in Allah's Cause with their wealth and lives. A llah has granted a grade higher to those who Fight with their possessions and bo dies to those who sit home. Those who Fight He has distinguished with a special reward." 4:95 -
