Color change:
To get a nice color change work last sc in current color as follows: insert hook in last st,
pull up a loop, make YO with the new color and pull it through all sts on hook.

How to close the hole:

Close the hole using a tapestry needle. When closing the hole use only the front loops
and move around the circle from stitch to stitch until the hole closes nicely.

How to embroider a French knot:

Insert the needle from the back to the front through the stitch where you want the knot
to show. Keep the tip of the needle flat against your crochetwork and wrap the yarn
around your needle twice (or more to get bigger knot). Insert the needle in the stitch next
to the starting point and carefully pull the needle through these loops so that you end up
with a double knot.

ASSEMBLY AND DESIGN
Pin horns on to the head between Rnds 2 and 6 and sew in place.
Pin nose to the head with top edge between Rnds 11 and 12 and sew it around.
Embroider closed eyes with black thread making stitches with 4sts in length between rounds 11 and 12
(please see step-by-step photos below).
Lower the arc in the middle as it shown in the picture.

Embroider eyelashes pointing downwards – make 2 small stitches from eye corner down on a row.
Embroider dots on the head with light beige thread.
Pin ears to the head sides right under horns as it shown in the pictures. Sew ears.
Attach head to the body as it shown in the pictures: head should lay on the legs till hoofs.
Sew the head to the body.
Pin hind legs to each side of the body so that from the back body and hind legs would be in line.
Sew hind legs to the body.
Sew leaf and berries onto the body as it shown in the picture.

Optional you can decorate pillow with blue half-beads additionally.

You will need 7 half-beads with d~5-6mm.
I used small crocheted half-beads.
Each half-bead is crocheted in the round with thin blue yarn using hook 1.5mm as follows:
6sc in MR, finish invisibly (please see Pattern Tips).
Glue half-beads onto the icing as it shown in the picture.
Sew icing onto the pillow.
I recommend to glue icing to pillow in the center and sew it to the pillow around.

CHRISTMAS TREE SIDES (make 3)
Worked back and forth with sand yarn.

Row 1 2sc in MR (2)
Row 2 1ch, turn, 2inc (4)
Row 3 1ch, turn, 1inc, 2sc, 1inc (6)

Cut the thread. Weave in ends.

Attach sand yarn to 4th st of the Row 7 with sleep stitch
and crochet back and forth as follows.

Cut the thread. Weave in ends.

Attach sand yarn to 4th st of the Row 15 with sleep stitch
and crochet back and forth as follows.

Do not cut the thread after Row 23.

Make canvas of cardboard or plastic – draw the item outlines and cut it out.
Fold canvas in half carefully.
Do not turn the item and continue to crochet the whole circumference as follows:
2ch, 8sc into transverse loops (meaning insert hook between rows), 3sc in sts of Row 15,
2ch, 8sc into transverse loops, 3sc in sts of Row 7,
2ch, 6sc into transverse loops, [1sc, 2ch, 1sc] in top, 6sc into transverse loops,
2ch, 3sc in sts of Row 7, 8sc into transverse loops,
2ch, 3sc in sts of Row 15, 8sc into transverse loops, 2ch, finish with sleep stitch in 1st st of Row 23.
Fasten off and switch to white yarn.
Crochet around 83ss, finish invisibly (please see Pattern Tips).
Crochet icing of “bobbles” with white yarn in the middle of item inserting hook between
stitches. Each “bobble” contains of 2ch, 2dc worked together.
Approximately you should get 8 “bobbles”.

Decorate tree with embroidering of French knots using yarn in white, red and white colors (optional you
can use beads like me).
MIDDLE PART
Worked in the round and back and forth with sand yarn.
Start with 6sc in MR.
Then crochet stripes back and forth as follows.

Row 1 41ch, from the 2nd st from the hook 40sc (40)
Row 2 skip next st of Rnd 1, 1ss in next st, (40)
1ch, turn, from the 3rd st from the hook 40sc.
Cut the yarn, weave in ends.
Attach yarn to 3rd st of Rnd 1 (where we made 1ss) and crochet 2nd stripe (repeat rows 1-2).
Then attach yarn to 5th st of Rnd 1 and crochet 3rd stripe (repeat rows 1-2).
STAR
Worked in the round with lemon yarn.

Rnd 1 10hdc in MR (10)
Rnd 2 ([1sc, 1dc, 1ch, 1sc], 1ss*5

I made 2 items following this pattern to make star bulkier – it’s optional.
Fold both parts together with wrong sides and glue them.
ASSEMBLY AND DESIGN
The idea is to sew middle part and tree sides together as it shown in the picture.
The magic ring of middle part will make the top of Christmas tree.
Sew middle part and tree sides top down from stitch to stitch back loop only.
Sew two stripes to first tree side from both sides.

And sew next tree side to sewn stripe from one side and to edge of free stripe from another side.
And finally place third tree side between two sewn stripes and sew it together.
To close bottom hole make 6 stitches over edge (2sts over edge of each stripe) and tight until the hole
closes nicely. Hide yarn tails inside of the item.
Glue star onto the tree top.

I crocheted 6 candies in white and 4 candies in green and cherry
red colors.
ASSEMBLY AND DESIGN
I recommend to sew the Christmas tree through as it shown in the picture and slightly tight to make
more flat layers of star cookies. Fasten with knot and hide yarn tails inside of the item.
Glue icing onto the Christmas tree top.

Glue star onto the icing as it shown in the picture.
Decorate Christmas tree with candies gluing it randomly to the tree.
BIG GINGERBREAD CHRISTMAS TREE

Worked in the round from bottom up with sand yarn.

Continue to crochet FLO around as follows.

put the white chain behind the cherry red chain and make sleep stitch in next st,
make 3ch in white, pull up a loop and drop st.

BIG CANDY for TREE TOP

Worked in the round with changing colors every 2 stitches.
Start with white yarn.
In MR: start with 3ch, (2dc in white color, 2dc in cherry red color)*4
Finish invisibly.
Tighten MR. Weave in ends.
I made 2 items following this pattern to make candy bulkier.
Fold both parts together with wrong sides and glue them.
SMALL CANDIES for tree decoration
For cherry red candies: 6sc in MR, finish invisibly, weave in ends (please see Pattern Tips).
Colorful candies all worked in the round with changing colors every 2 stitches.
Start with white yarn.
In MR: (2sc in white color, 2sc in green color)*3
Finish invisibly. Tighten MR. Weave in ends (please see Pattern Tips).
TIP! I used unraveled in two strands yarn and hook size 1.5mm to get smaller colorful candies – in size of
cherry candies (please see photo below).
You will need 10 cherry red candies and 25 colorful candies (crocheted using hook 1.5mm).

We are going to crochet twisted edge and icing on Christmas tree sections (Rnd 38, Rnd 28, Rnd 18).

TOP SECTION
Attach white yarn to Rnd 38 of tree (to any of 24 free front loops) and crochet FLO 24ss.
Attach cherry yarn to next stitch FLO, make 3ch, pull up a loop and drop st.
Continue to crochet twisted edge FLO.
put the white chain behind the red chain and make sleep stitch in next st,
put the red chain behind the white chain and make sleep stitch in next st,
make 3ch in red, pull up a loop and drop st **
Repeat *-** till round ends (11times more).
Pull work loop in white to the wrong side and continue to crochet icing BLO 24sc.
Then continue to crochet drips back and forth as follows.
4ch, from the 3rd st from the hook 2hdc, skip next st, 2ss,
3ch, from the 3rd st from the hook 1hdc, skip next st, 1ss.
Sew icing drips to the tree.
MIDDLE SECTION
Continue to crochet twisted edge FLO. Repeat *-** till round ends (18 times in total).
Pull work loop in white to the wrong side
and continue to crochet icing BLO 36sc.
Then continue back and forth as follows.
BOTTOM SECTION
Continue to crochet twisted edge FLO. Repeat *-** till round ends (24 times in total).
Pull work loop in white to the wrong side and continue to crochet icing BLO 48sc.
Then continue back and forth as follows.
4ch, from the 3rd stfrom the hook 2hdc, skip next st, 2ss,
BOTTOM ICING
Attach white yarn to any of 60 free front loops at Rnd 8 of tree and crochet FLO as follows.
Keep the item upside down.
FLO (skip next st, [5hdc], skip next st, 3sc)*10
Cut the yarn, hide yarn tails inside of the tree.
I recommend to put packet with something small but heavy into the stand (bottom part) – for greater
stability. It could be coins, small stones, for example I have granulate. Stuff firmly above.
Cover tree with stand and sew together from stitch to stitch as it shown in the picture.
Then sew icing drips to the stand around.
Glue top icing onto the tree top and sew drips to the tree around.
I also strongly recommend to glue tree trunk carefully to the stand icing and tree around
Glue big candy (cherry red and white) onto the tree top.
Glue small cherry red candies to the bottom icing between drips as it shown in the picture.
Glue small green and white candies to the tree as it shown in the picture.
I glued 5 candies to each of first 3 sections from top and 10 candies to the bottom section.
