The security staff at the entrance of Fort
St. George became busy on a quiet Sunday
morning. On May 18, 2008, kids along with
their parents started coming in right from
9.30 am.
All for a clay modelling contest on the
occasion of the International Museum Day.
P. S. Nandini of Sivaswamy Kalalaya won the
first prize.
She created clay models of nadaswaram and
tavil players. B. Aravindha, who created rep-
tiles, won the second prize.
Dinesh of Hope Foundation (an NGO working
with HIV positive children) won the third
prize.

Become a Student Reporter!
In the year 2007 - 08, YOCee launched the Student
Reporter programme for the school students in
Chennai.
The students selected for this programme have been
writing for the website and the reports are pub-
lished on this website under various sections with
their bylines.
Applications are now invited for the Student
Reporter programme for the year 2008 - 09. Here
are the details of who and how can you participate
in the programe:
The Programme:
This year, 25 student reporters from the city
schools will be selected for the programme.
Students of class 6 and above are eligible to apply
for the programme
The student reporters selected under this
programme will get an opportunity to:
- report news and events from their school cam-
puses and neighbourhood
- visit exciting workshops, attend reading sessions
and write about them
- interview authors, storytellers, artists and
achiever kids
and much more!

Benefits:
Opportunity to improve your skills in Language,
writing, communication and Public Relation.
A reporter’s pack along with tips on reporting,
writing and interviewing skills.
Identity badge as YOCee Student Reporter for the
year 2008-09.
A certificate at the end of the year, subject to
eligibility.

How to apply for the programme:

Your piece (in 150 words) on how you spent your
summer vacation.
Five lines on what you would be interested to write
for the website, if selected.
Particulars of class, school, residential address,
name of the parent and contact phone number.
A declaration that your application for the
programme has the consent of your parents.
The reporters will contribute articles / reports
from July 2008 to May 2009.
Last date to apply : June 30, 2008

Camp at Croc Bank Now, kids will get a chance to be on an adventure trip at this nature camp as they will handle
reptiles and find out all there is to know about snakes and their habitats.
