M/s. Ghulam Nabi Water Contractor was established in 1976 as a proprietorship concern. The entity is a well organized, Government approved civil & water supply contractor and is registered with Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SB) in A class water suppliers. The Company supplies water to various well known housing schemes/authorities such as Defense Housing Authority, Karachi, Askari III (Cantt Station), Askari IV (Rashid Minhas Road), Gulistan-e-Johar, Government, Semi-Government, Private & Public Organizations, Industrial units in Korangi & SITE, Karachi Nuclear Power Complex, State Life Insurance Corporation, Karachi Port Trust, Pakistan State Oil, National Refinery, PARCO, Glaxo Smith Klien,, Barrett & Hodgson, General Tyres etc. The firm provides services to their customers (deliveries) on 24/7 basis. BUSINESS SEGMENT Logistic Services for Water Distribution & Supply. Water tanker service is playing a vital role in bridging the gap between water supply and demand, providing clean water to people. The company is facilitating in solving the current acute water shortage situation in Karachi by providing logistic support for supply of potable water through water tankers.

There are many areas in Karachi which are dependent solely on these Water Tankers for access to water. The continuous increase in sale every year indicates that the water consumption and affordability of water increased. It is expected that in the coming years sales would increase more as compared to previous years. M/s Ghulam Nabi Water Contractor is also providing logistic services to their clients. The firm collects water from different factories premises and delivers to the clients desired locations. Water logistic in itself is a very profitable operation as very few firms are in this line of business. It needs a good logistic base which is not possible for any organization to come up with in a short span of time.

Location
The Ghulam Nabi Water & Contractor workshop is located at A- 71 Khudadad Colony, Karachi which is owned by the proprietor. The premises are located near famous Society Office and is easily accessible. All the essential utilities such as electricity, gas, telephone services and drainage facilities are available in the vicinity.

Finding /Observation/Comments
The visit was conducted by the undersigned. During the visit the undersigned has met with the sponsor Mr. Ghulam Nabi and discussed regarding his business operations and elaborated his experiences. At the time of visit it was observed the business is going to expansion to meet the existing demand of water in Karachi, it is also noticed that the sponsor is not much educated, but experienced enough to undertake the future development of the business. We stayed there around an hour and observed that over all environment of workshop was busy. We also checked the bill books in the office.
