Barriers to communication are things people say or do that are obstacles to good conversation or good interpersonal interaction.

They are hurdles that do not bring discussion satisfaction. They are high-risk responses who impact on communication is frequently negative. . Various attitudes and beliefs can interfere with effective communication in the classroom. It can exist in any form. Normally, the barriers in classroom communication occur between the teacher and pupils. It is important to consider what barriers a teacher may carry into the classroom. The barriers in communication barriers may occur due to teachers and also pupils behaviour themselves. Following is a list of the most common barriers of teacher in the classroom and also other barriers: 1.1 Teacher who are tension The main enemy of a teacher is tension, which ruins the voice, posture, and their spontaneity. The voice becomes higher as the throat tenses. Shoulders tighten up and the legs start to shake causing unsteadiness. A teacher who is nervous during teaching could not deliver what they wanted for the lesson. This will cause wrong information given to the pupils or they maybe lack of content. Pupils may feel confuse with this kind of teachers attitude. 1.2 Teacher who always use one-way teaching in the classroom Communication is a two-way street. Teachers are dealing with thinking individuals. Pupils response is necessary to determine if the transmission of ideas has occurred. Teachers also draw energy and ideas from pupils interaction. One-way communications all the time will tend to make the pupil bored in the classroom for the lesson.

Teacher who reluctant to change True communication involves constant adaptation of presentation style, material, and questioning techniques. and suitable in the classroom. 1.4 Teacher who cannot control emotions Teacher will tend to scold the pupils most of the time and not at the right time. The serious and strict facial mimics will cause the pupils afraid to talk the teacher. There are some teacher with emotion may cause conflict within the pupil. Teacher who cannot control their emotion may threaten pupils in the class. 1.5 Teacher who cannot entertain feedback from pupils Teacher who has this problem may loose the pupil attention in the class. The pupil may feel neglected and will not have a good impression on the teacher. The pupils also cannot practice open communication. 1.6 Teacher who lack of teaching experience Teacher may not able to handle the classroom well. Teacher may conduct a dull learning activities, pupils interest to learn will reduced. Teacher also will speak too fast and make it difficult for pupils to understand their lesson. 1.7 Teacher who does not prepare before lesson Teacher who do not prepare well before lesson can cause confusion when they deliver their lesson. This will lead to pupils being unable to accept the facts for the lesson clearly. 1.8 Teacher who criticize The mix of students in a class constantly changes. Using only a set presentation style is not acceptable

For some teachers, criticism is a way of life. They make a negative evaluation of the pupils actions, or attitudes. Pupil will not involve actively in teaching and learning due to the criticism. 1.9 Teacher who likes to order Forceful directives by teacher will occur in one-way teaching style. Orders imply that the other's judgment is unsound and thus tend to undermine selfesteem. 1.10 Teacher who always label Name calling and labeling usually have negative overtones to both the sender and receiver. Labeling prevents teacher from getting to know themselves and pupils. There is no longer a person before us, only a type. Communication tends to be impeded when we label someone and/or their behavior. 1.11 Behaviours problems Pupils who do not feel comfortable with each other may cause disturbance in learning. Pupils who are always playful in the class will cause noise in the classroom. 1.12 Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD)The Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) is a problems hearing in a pupil. They may have difficulty absorb what the teacher is teaching. 1.13 Speech Impediment Pupils with this problem will not able to read fluently. If there are require to read, they will take some time to finish the speech.

Based on above explanation of the barriers in communication in classroom, thus there are several effective communication ways to help teacher in order to overcome the communication barrier in the classroom. 2.1 Avoid become nervous in the class A teacher will have to try not to fight nerves, but welcome them instead. Another strategy for overcoming nerves involves performing relaxation exercises or taking deep breaths before you present as a way to reduce tension. The teacher also must set in their mind that they are nothing to afraid of because all pupils are as their children. Shuffling feet and pacing can convey nervousness and lack of confidence. Talk with loud voice without showing the nervous so that pupils can hear clearly. 2.3 Encouraging two-way communication Encourage pupils to give ideas and opinion. Let the pupils to talk more. We also respecting the views and opinions of pupils. Use asking question technique to attract the pupils. Practice democratic leadership technique to receive idea and suggestion from pupils. 2.4 Improve Communication Flexibility, reality checking, and the desire to change are necessary to improve the communication style. Teachers should be friendly and polite. Being an active listener. Give clear and accurate instruction to the pupils. Use language that simply understood and communicate with loud voice confidently so that the pupils can hear clearly.

Appearance Teacher should show a bright and friendly appearance in the classroom. Smiling is a powerful cue that transmits friendliness, warmth, and approachability. Smiling is often contagious and others will react favorably. They will be more comfortable around you and more open to the information you are offering.

Avoid Criticizing and Labeling Teacher should avoid criticize pupil who made mistakes. Use correct technique to guide the pupils mistake. Avoid labeling the pupil with other names which can raise embarrassment on the pupils. Use their names while interacting.

Presentation of lesson Teacher should have high spirit in the presentation skills. Plan a interesting teaching and learning which can attract the pupils. Use questioning technique, discussion, role play and acting. Use various and challenging teaching aid. Relate new lesson with the ones that have already been studied by pupils.

Classroom Environment Create a conducive classroom before start a lesson. Avoid teaching in unfavorable environment. Make sure that there are no hindrances when teachers deliver their teaching.

Behaviours problems The teacher needs to build a classroom community from the first day of school. If the students feel comfortable with each other and the teacher there should be a smaller chance of having behavior issues.

Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) If a student has this disorder, provide hard copies of everything you are talking about. If you lecture in your class, give the student a typed copy of your notes.

Speech Impediment If a student has a speech impediment it is important that the teacher does not draw attention to the student by making him or her read out loud. If there are oral presentations as part of the curriculum, the student should be allowed to do a written presentation.

Barriers of communication in classroom can be avoided if the teacher takes the action appropriately. This is to ensure a smooth teaching and learning process. Effective communication ways help the teacher improve teaching style in the classroom.
