You may be at risk for having breast cancer.

In todays society, breast cancer is the second most common cancer after lung cancer. Every year more than 400,000 women are diagnosed for breast cancer. Twelve percent of women will get breast cancer and 3.5% of them will not survive. In fact, breast cancer has been the leading cause of death for women that are 40 to 55 years of age. Many people assume that women only can get breast cancer. Researchers have found that men can also get breast cancer, because they also have breast tissue. Breast tissues only become cancerous when the cell mutation has been destroyed. There are two main types of breast cancer, ductal carcinoma and lobular carcinoma. Ductal carcinoma starts in the tubes of the ducts that move the milk from the breast to the nipple. The ductal carcinoma is the most common breast cancer, but some breast cancers contain both types. Ductal carcinoma cancer develops when abnormal cells from the lobules goes out into the breast tissue and surrounds the lobules. Unlike ductal carcinoma, lobular carcinoma is the least common breast cancer. Lobular carcinoma starts in the part of the breast that produces milk. When the cancer cells have been broken, they began to spread throughout the body. Many women are diagnosed with breast cancer look for lumps. Lobular carcinoma cancer does not form lumps in the breast. Instead, they form thicken tissues in one part of the beast. Breast cancer occurs because of the interaction between the environment and a defective gene. Cells become cancerous when their mutation is destroyed, and they attach to other cells. Some cells that divide, their DNA are normally copied with mistakes. Researchers assume that mutations that lead to breast cancer are linked to estrogen exposure. Most breast cancers are irritable to the hormone estrogen. When the estrogen becomes irritable it causes the breast cancer

tumor to grow. When estrogen and progesterone are used, they make it possible to treat the tumors, because they block the hormones, and later targeted the tissues. Interaction between stromal cells and epithelial cells can result in cell growth. Cells have receptors on their surface and in their cytoplasm and nucleus. Some DNA microarrays have compared normal cells to breast cancer cells and found differences in hundreds of genes. Some women are worried about if they have breast cancer or not. Breast cancer has many symptoms. The first symptom is a lump. Many women that that think that have breast cancer discover lumps in their breast. A breast lump is usually hard and found under the armpit. The change in size and shape can result in if you have breast cancer or not. Breast inflammation may result in pain, swelling, or warmth and redness through the breast. Sometimes, breast cancer is known as metastatic disease, cancer that has spread beyond the original organ. There are many treatments for breast cancer, but it all depends on the type and stage of cancer. Chemotherapy and radiation are both treatments for breast cancer. Chemotherapy helps kill the cancer cells and radiation is used to destroy the cancerous tissue. To remove the cancerous tissue there are different types of surgery. A lumpectomy removes the breast, and a mastectomy removes all or part of the breast. Other treatments include hormonal therapy and targeted therapy. Hormonal therapy helps block certain hormones that furl cancer growth. A drug tamoxifen blocks the effects of estrogen. Researchers have founded a new medicine called aromatase inhibitors. Researchers have found aromatase inhibitors to work better than tamoxifen in postmenopausal. Targeted therapy uses anticancer drugs that identify certain changes in the cell. Radiation is usually used to control cancer cells that were missed when having surgery. Radiation that is exposure to the heart may cause damage and heart failure in previous years.

Breast cancer screening is an attempt for earlier diagnosis. There are many screening such as clinical and self- breast exams, mammography, genetic screening and ultrasound. A clinical and self-breast exam involves feeling the breast for lumps. If a lump is large enough to be found when doing the self-exam that means it has been growing for many years. Mammographic screening uses x-rays to examine the breast. Women that have a high risk for breast cancer, has a family history. If a family member gets breast cancer before the age of 40, they have a greater risk. If your doctor thinks that you have a family history, they may test you for genetic screening or magnetic resonance imaging. In recent years, research has indicated the impact of diet and other behaviors on breast cancer. Additional risk factor includes high fat diet, consuming alcohol, obesity, and the use of tobacco. Approximately 60% of women will get breast cancer if it is in their genes. Younger women tend to have poorer prognosis than post-menopausal women due to several factors. Women who get their periods before the age of 12 or went through menopause after the age of 55 have an increased risk for breast cancer. Their breasts are active with their cycles, and they may be unaware of the changes in their breasts. Younger women are usually at a more advanced stage than an older woman. Premenopausal women with estrogenreceptor with positive breast cancer must discuss the issue earlier than older women. In conclusion, breast cancer is a type of cancer that happens in the tissue of the cells. Today there are many treatments to help cure the cancer. Although the cancer can not be cure all the way, a woman can have surgery. Today, doctor and researchers now know more about the cancer, than any other time. In the century that we live in today, a pink ribbon is wore to honor those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is recommended that women get a mammogram done once a year. A mammogram reduces the chances of breast cancer by 15%. In the United States the lifetime risk for breast cancer is usually given as 1 out of 8. Worldwide,

breast cancer is the most common cancer in white women. If your doctor learns that you have breast cancer, additional test will be done.
