Applications
MOL Thermol 32 heat transfer oil can be used as a heat transfer medium for enclosed, indirectly heated, circulated heat transfer systems for industrial applications such as process industry, chemical plants, asphalt plants, textile producers, etc. The maximum film temperature on the heater surface is 330 C, the maximum bulk temperature is 310 C. The lifetime of MOL Thermol 32 heat transfer oil greatly depends on the construction and usage of the system. In a well-designed system which is not subjected to abnormal workloads, the life can be 5 years. The lifetime can be increased by using a low-pressure (1.2-1.5 bar overpressure) inert gas atmosphere (e.g. nitrogen). For safety reasons it is strongly recommended to monitor the oil condition regularly, at least once a year.

Product description
MOL Thermol 32 heat transfer oil is a highly refined, narrow-cut high viscosity index mineral oil containing balanced high-temperature antioxidants to enhance oxidation stability and corrosion inhibitors to prevent rust formation. MOL Thermol 32 heat transfer oil provides good thermal stability, resists excessive oxidation and oil cracking to give long oil service life. These properties assume an appropriate system design with an efficient fluid heater and pump circulation to assure that the film temperatures on the heater surface do not exceed the given limits. MOL Thermol 32 offers excellent heat transfer due to the high heat transfer coefficient, low viscosity and good thermal properties (specific heat, thermal conductivity, Prandtl number etc.). The essential heat transfer characteristics are summarized as a function of temperature in a separate table. MOL Thermol 32 provides good solvency for ageing products. The product prevents corrosion of common heat transfer system construction materials and does not require special seals. The good lubricating properties ensure trouble-free operation of moving parts (valves, pumps). MOL Thermol 32 heat transfer oil is safer to handle than most synthetic fluids. MOL Thermol 32 is non-toxic and exhibits low vapour pressure, after service it can be collected as used oil for recycling or disposal.

Storage and handling instructions

Store in the original container in dry, properly ventilated area. Keep away from direct flame and other sources of ignition. Protect from direct sunlight. During transport, storage and use of the product follow the work safety instructions and environmental regulations relating to mineral oil products. For further details please read the Material Safety Data Sheet of the product. In the original container under the recommended storage conditions: 48 months Inflammability hazard: Grade IV. Recommended storage temperature: max. 40C
