PLANNING PROCESS NEEDS ASSESSMENT


The campus staff elects members to the Campus Improvement Council. Representatives are selected from each grade level, special education, fine arts, and physical education, other electives, and non-teaching professionals. Additionally three staff members are elected at large. These people can come from any grade level or department and are elected by popular vote. Parent and business representatives complete the CIC membership. The primary responsibilities of the Campus Improvement Council members include: Providing leadership in identifying TAKS, fitness assessment, and campus performance goals Providing leadership in the development and implementation of the campus improvement plan Assisting in the development of the campus budget Providing recommendations in the implementation of the campus budget Provide input on campus staff development Assisting in identifying campus staff development needs Chairing a campus committee when the need arises Providing leadership in developing a master calendar for the school year Providing assistance in monitoring and updating campus policies and procedures In establishing campus goals, objectives and strategies for the 2010-2011 campus improvement plan, the following needs assessments were considered: AEIS and AYP reports End of year assessment results including failure rates, Algebra I End-of-course results, special education assessments, and fitness gram assessment Parent survey results (conducted in spring 2010) Information and feedback gathered in parent meetings including PTA board meetings, Parent Advisory Meetings, etc. Information and feedback gathered in CIC Teacher Survey Annual analysis of the plan and review of various assessment data are used to determine objectives that address campus goals. Specific strategies and action steps are developed to address these objectives. This process ensures a commitment to excellence and a resolve to provide the best instructional plan for every student.

SMART GOALS (SG)

Criteria for Success


Earn an Exemplary rating by TEA Improve performance by a minimum of 10% on TAKS Reading, Math, Science and Writing 3rd 5th grade. Decrease number of below level readers in each grade by 10% (RTI, tutoring, Fast ForWord). Using 2009 - 2010 as a baseline, increase overall number of fitness tests passed by 3% (2010 - 2011 third grade students will establish their baseline testing). Earn an Exemplary rating by TEA
