CONSTITUTION AND BY LAWS

PREAMBLE
We, Students Society on Information Technology Education, with the light and guidance of Christs, bind ourselves to establish an extracurricular organization that promotes students ability towards extra-curricular excellence, help fulfill the schools mission and vision of educating the members of the academe, through the formation of society that enhance endowment awareness, social and national consciousness in pursuit to once common goal. In the establishment of a free, just and humane in society impaired by the true meaning of truth, justice, liberty, victory and love do ordain and promulgate.

ARTICLE I GENERAL PROVISION


This constitution shall govern the Students Society on Information Technology Education organization. a) This assembly shall be named as Student Society on Information Technology Education. b) All bonafide students of Columban College can be a member of this organization especially those students under College of Computer Studies. There shall be a coordinator in every year level. The provision of the constitution shall form part of the practices, rules and provision to be respected and enforced. This organization will be the student counter part of PSITE-R3 as institutional member of the organization in Columban College.

ARTICLE II DECLARATION OF OBJECTIVES AND PRINCIPLES
Section 1 Section 2 The Student Society on Information Technology Education is a free and democratic organization of this institution. The Student Society on Information Technology Education updates students to the innovation of technology. In its pursuance of the common welfare of the academic community, the Student Society of Information Technology Education direct its effort to assist each member towards the concrete accomplishments of the objectives of the schools mission statement. The adviser of Student Society of Information Technology Education should be CCS instructor.

ARTICLE III BILL OF RIGHTS


Section 1 Section 2 Section 3 Section 4 The right to give opinions and suggestions when necessary. The right to be free from involuntary contribution. The right of access to the financial records, documents and planned activities. The right to received benefits from: a) Attending seminars, trainings and conferences. b) Certificate and I.D. c) Represents the college for contest, competitions. The right to invite resource speakers during assemblies and other activities of the organization with the approval of the school authorities.

ARTICLE IV DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Section 1

Encourage and train spool of competitors in preparation for local, regional competitions especially Students Assembly on Information Technology Education (SAITE) and Students Conference on Information Technology Education (SCITE).

Conduct seminars, training and workshop for the members to upgrade knowledge in the field of Information Technology. Promote Information Technology Education (ITE) and get involved in the marketing of IT Education within the area. Conduct re-echoing of seminars/trainings attended for those students/members who were not able to join the activity.

ARTICLE V SUFFRAGE
No students or members shall be deprived of denied of his right to vote according to the dictates of his conscience in the election or may referendum of the organization. All bonafide members shall be qualified to vote.

ARTICLE VI ELECTION
There shall be an election of officers not later than the election of every department. The election will be computerized. Any bonafide members of the organization can file his/her candidacy. The top ten will be chosen and among themselves, they will elect according to the available positions. A referendum may be called to determine answers on certain issues directly affecting the organization. It shall be duty of the President of Student Association of Information Technology Education to call a special election of the situation call for.

ARTICLE VII ORGAN


The Student Society of Information Technology Education shall be composed of one (1) President, one (1) Vice-President, one (1) Secretary, one (1), Treasurer, (2) Business Manager and , (4) Coordinators The Student Society of Information Technology Education shall have the following functions: a) To promote services to every member in regards with the field of Information Technology.

All official meeting of Student Society of Information Technology Education shall be held within the college campus. Section 3 a) The regular meeting shall be held at least once a month. b) Special meetings shall be called by the Presidents at the convenient time for everybody.

ARTICLE VIII COUNCIL


A. There shall be one (1) President of Student Society of Information Technology Education who shall be the Chief Executive of the organization. He/She shall be elected by a majority vote from among members, an annual election for a term of one (1) year which shall begin twenty-four (24) hours after his induction or oath of office. B. The qualified student to be elected as President must be an outgoing officer of Student Society of Information Technology Education Section 1 President

C. A student/member who has a good leadership background and high academic records are qualified to run for presidency. D. The President shall have the following duties and functions: a) To preside over a regular meeting of the organization. b) To represent the whole organization in all gatherings and all meetings, conference and the like as requested by the adviser. c) Call for a special meeting if necessary. A. The Vice-President shall have the right of succession in case of removal from office, resignation, disability or unavailability of the President. B. Any student/member may be elected as Vice-President as long as he/she is of good moral character and of good leadership. He/She shall have the same tenure of office as the President. C. The Vice-President shall have the following duties: a) To help the President on matters where his assistance is required. b) To take over the functions of the President if ever his/her office is vacated by reasons of permanent absence, resignation, suspension, impeachment, death, physical or mental disability, and

c) To perform all other functions relatives his duties as provided for in this constitution.

The Secretary shall take care of the administrative affairs of the organization and has the following duties and functions: Section 3 Secretary A. Shall keep the minutes of all the meetings. B. Shall issue notices and reports as may be necessary in connection with the acts and undertakings of the organization. C. Performs such other duties as ordered by President. The Treasurer shall take charge of the funds and assets of the organization and has the following duties and functions: A. Shall render a detailed reports of the receipts and the expenditures during the meeting of the organization, and B. Perform such other duties as may be directed by the President. The coordinators shall inform the members of the organization about the meeting and activities of the organization. A Business manager should devote his attention to business development and exploiting the business opportunities that are presented to him and his organization.

ARTICLE IX AMMENDMENTS
Section 1 Section 2 Section 3 This Constitution and By Laws shall be amended only by a directed majority vote of members and officers. In case of revision, a constitution commission shall be formed by officers of the Student Society of Information Technology Education with Coordinators Any provisions set forth by Student Affairs shall be subjected to amendments without affecting the entirely of the constitution.

ARTICLE X EFFECTIVITY
Section 1 This organization shall take effect upon the approval of the officers of the said organization and after the approval of the College of Administration.

This Constitution and By Laws shall be effective to the Faculty, Advisers, Executive Committee, and General Membership.

Change of Nomenclature

The SSITE Officers changed the article 4 Duties and Responsibilities because we realized that now a day the following responsibilities and duties are more effective than the old one. Encourage and train spool of competitors in preparation for local, regional competitions especially Students Assembly on Information Technology Education (SAITE) and Students Conference on Information Technology Education (SCITE). Conduct seminars, training and workshop for the members to upgrade knowledge in the field of Information Technology. Promote Information Technology Education (ITE) and get involved in the marketing of IT Education within the area. Conduct re-echoing of seminars/trainings attended for those students/members who were not able to join the activity.
