The Serpents mystic hammer empowers Sin, transforming her into his herald, Skadi. The Serpent summons his Worthy, causing seven additional hammers to fall from the heavens and strike all over the world. Each hammer transforms its destined wielder into an unstoppable engine of destruction to rampage in the Serpents name. Learning of the Serpents escape, Odin and the Asgardians withdraw from Earth to begin preparations to burn the planet in order to destroy the Serpent. While the Avengers rally to humanitys defense, the Serpents fear-fed power reaches critical mass, and, rejuvenated, he raises his dark castle and advances on Asgard. When Thor attempts to intercede, the Serpent reveals to him that he is Odins brother, the true, exiled King of Asgard before casting Thor away.
