Aloha mai kakou! Ninety-three years ago, Prince Jonah KOhiO Kalaniana'ole founded the first Hawaiian Civic Club. Today, the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs (AHCC) includes 60 clubs located throughout Hawai'i, Alaska, and the continental U.S. The AHCC initiates and supports actions that enhance the civic, economic, educational, health, housing and social welfare of our communities, including the perpetuation of our Native Hawaiian culture. On October 23 through October 30,2011, these 60 clubs will convene at the Turtle Bay Resort, at Kahuku, O'ahu, for the 52nd Annual Convention of the Association of Hawaiian Civic Clubs. The O'ahu Council of the Association is proud to be hosting this one-week convention with the theme, "Pu'uhonua Ho'oulu Aloha" - "Peaceful Haven Where Aloha Inspires". To provide opportunities for community engagement between our members and potential advertisers, we invite you to purchase advertising space in our upcoming convention booklet. This book is the official guide for the week's agenda of meetings, workshops, plenary sessions and cultural celebrations, besides listing the accomplishments of the civic clubs' positive actions affecting the welfare of the people of Hawai'i. It is also an excellent way for our clubs to support our convention booklet.
