INTRODUCTION The software is for the automation of patient billing management It maintains two levels of users-Administrator Level and

nd Employee Level. The software include- Maintaining patient details, registration of patients, checking availability of ward or ICU,Providing and maintaining all kinds of tests for a patient.Billing and Report generation. It includes a search facility to know the currentstatus of each room. User can search the details of a patient using the id.

Proposed systemthe development of this new system contains the following activities, which try to automate the entire process keeping in the view of database integration approach. This system can provide the information about the patient based on the ward number whether the patient is either in the general ward or the ICU. By using this system we can prepare all bills pending to be paid by a patient before the patient's discharge. We can keep a track of all transfer of patient from the general ward to the ICU and vice versa. This system is providing the facility of viewing all information about patient details, their admit time and the amount to be paid is based on the treatment given and the ward selected. We can register all the patient details like the amount to be paid/ any balance remaining, the ward number etc. s soon as a new patient is joined in the hospital. Due to this software high level security can be provided.

2.0 Overall

Description-

It will describe major components of the System , interconnection and external interfaces.

2.1. Product Perspective:

The web pages (JSP) are present to provide the user interface on customer client side. Communication between customer and server is provided through HTTP/HTTPS protocols. The Client Software is to provide the user interface on system user client side and for this ssl protocols are used.

2.2 Software Interface:

Client on Internet: Web Browser,Operating System (Linux) Client on Intranet: Client Software, Web Browser ,Operating System (Linux) Web Server: Apache WAS Data Base Server: DB2,Operating System (Linux) Development End: NetBeans (Servlets, HTML), Database server (DB2),OS (Linux), WAS (Web Server).

2.4 Product Function Secured login into the system. View the details of patients medicine and history. Change the password after entering into the system. Settle all bill pending to be paid by a patient before the patients discharge.

2.5 User CharacteristicThe user should be familier with the activities involved in patient billing to have a basic idea to operate the system.

2.6 CONSTRAINTS: 1. Security: The files in which the information regarding

patient, employee should be secured against malicious deformations. 2. Fault Tolerance: Data should not become corrupted in case of system crash or power failure.

2.12 Assumptions

Hospital is covered by insurance policy.

Staff are assigned roles to interact with the system. Staff have basic computer operating skill.
