Work=Force X Distance moved If work is the transfer of mechanical energy, then to do more work you have to exert a greater force over a longer distance. What this means when applied to exercise is that when lifting or moving any amount of weight, (to include bodyweight,) the longer the range of motion, the more work you are doing and the better results you will see. Speed, Intensity, full range of motion, and form, are all equally important. Many people come to exercise without having a plan. This mainly results in confused wandering around the gym without real focus. Here is your remedy: Proper prior planning prevents poor performance. As with anything, if you dont put time into the planning, the result you will accomplish most likely will be dismal. A lack of plan will lead to a lack of result, so Pursue Perfection with Passion and Purpose. Exercise is a commitment and you must take it seriously. Dont cheat yourself, your goals, or your plan. Dont let your mind defeat your body. Accept that the reality of exercising for a result of positive change is pain. And pain is temporary. Laziness, weakness of the mind, and bad attitude, should be put aside, they will only be a stumbling block for progress. To quit, to surrender, to give up, is to fail. Your attitude should be, or become: I will surpass failure, overcome, adapt, and do whatever it takes to complete my commitment and pursue my plan. FOCUS!
