Abstract: This article is devoted to the analysis of rarely performed unfinished sonatas
by Franz Schubert, information about the history of their creation, their various editions, an
assessment of their significance both for the work of this composer and for the entire musical art
in general. The article also examines the role of the piano sonata genre in the work of Schubert,
its influence on the development of this genre in the work of romantic composers, the connection
of his piano sonatas with the sonata-symphonic cycles of the Viennese classics, as well as the
history of their difficult journey to the audience.Ключевые слова: Франц Шуберт,
