It is recommended that you save your default worksheet template prior to upgrading to Apollo 9.1. To save the worksheet template, Open Apollo then open a section, go to the Item Worksheet, make it the active window by clicking on it, from the menu select: Worksheet, then Template, then Save. Page 1

readme.txt Closing Apollo before performing the upgrade is required. User Defined Fields (or custom formulas) are stored in your Worksheet Templates, Report Templates and the Data Dictionary. If after updating to Apollo 9.1, the User Defined fields are not available, open the last updated/saved Worksheet and Report templates to restore them. ==================================== Functional Upgrades ==================================== 1. Cross Planogram Analysis - Apollo 9.1 offers the ability to compare items for up to 50 sections in a single report 2. New Image Options A. GTIN UPC matching to existing file naming conventions B. Merchandising Method Variations of Images - One UPC can have multiple images depending on how it is merchandised. Apollo will now identify which to display based on the method selected. C. Alternate Image Field allows for image matching to occur on another field separate from the UPC or Stockcode Field. 3. Enhanced PSA Loader to translate and store more information than the previous version 4. Shelf Splitter - Apollo Shelf Splitter allows the user to break up shelves into bays of equal length or combine them into a single shelf 5. Full RGB color selection has been added for item assignment. 6. New Extended Fields for Relational Database and XML Storage - New data fields have been added to support new functionality added since Apollo 9.0. ==================================== Known Issues ==================================== 1. A Microsoft XML component warning may appear on install, the warning message appears as Locked file found C:\Windows\System32\msxml3r.dll. Selecting the [Postpone] choice allows the install to continue, this is due to Microsoft methods for updating this component. 2. Shelf Splitter - if blank dialog boxes occur, McAfee 8.0 has a known bug and offers a Patch. 3. The New Extended Fields are reserved fields and appear in the database with database name, not dictionary name. Examples would be Alternate Image and RGB color. 4. Clients upgrading from Apollo 9.0 must update their databases to include the new fields. Script files have been provided for Access and SQL Section and Pmaster Relational Databases 5. We recommend that current users of Relational Database Pmasters refresh from Section to Pmaster. This will automatically update it with the new extended fields. Failure to do this will result in Data loss when refreshing from a Pmaster without extended fields to a Section. 6. Cross Planogram Reporting Sample files are installed based on the regional settings on the system. If the settings are changed after install the appropriate sample files should be copied from the CD to your Apollo directory. 7. Cross Planogram Analysis could experience a possible mismatch if regional settings are changed. Apollo's Section Relational Database hold data stored in the format determined by the regional settings on the system during the save process. Changing those settings after sections are saved can create a mismatch between the values stored and what is expected in Cross Section Analysis. Opening and resaving the sections in Apollo will convert to the proper value based on the regional settings. 8. Space Planning (PSA) Loader- due to different data standards and uses between the softwares, Apollo's "Fit Check" must be turned off (Unchecked on the General Tab in Setup) when opening sections containing Space Planning Assemblies. 9. When opening Space Planning Assemblies in Apollo, Apollo increases the number of Advanced Fixtures while maintaining the correct number of shelves and blocks in the section. 10. When installing Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Install files for East Asian languages Supplemental language support must be turned OFF. It is located under Page 2

readme.txt Control Panel, then Regional and Language Options in the Languages tab. Leaving it ON can cause Apollo to crash. 11. There are known issues if Microsoft .NET 2.0 is installed on the same system as Apollo Suite 9.1. Microsoft .NET 1.1 is the required Microsoft .NET Framework for Apollo Suite 9.1. 12. Apollo Cross Planogram Analyzer will demonstrate enhanced performance if section files are loaded from a Section Relational Database versus single section files (.APB, .XML, .XMZ, etc...). =============================================== Apollo Application Support on Windows Platforms =============================================== In order to assist our clients with future IT planning and decisions, IRI offers the following notes on various Windows platforms and their relationship to the Apollo Suite and associated or related products: Windows 2000 and XP Professional are supported by this release Windows 95, 98, ME and Windows XP Home Edition are no longer tested or supported. Microsoft provides Windows ME (Millennium Edition) and Windows XP Home editions as their "home computing platform". Similarly, they have the Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional family of operating systems as most appropriate for "business computing." (A review of Microsoft's product pages may be useful to you: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/default.asp.) Apollo's product line are built, tested, and supported on Microsoft's "business computing" platforms. For now, none of Apollo's application components are currently being tested, or supported on the Windows ME or Windows XP Home edition.
