I. Grammar
1) Mixed Conditionals
В зависимости от контекста, можно смешивать разные виды условных
предложений.

Следует помнить, если сложноподчиненное предложение с придаточным


условия начинается с придаточного (с If части), то после него в
предложении ставим запятую.
If it rains, we`ll have the party indoors.
НО We`ll have the party indoors if it rains.
2) Предложения с конструкцией I wish
Форма Значение
1) I wish + Past Simple Данная конструкция употребляется,
или If only + Past Simple когда мы выражаем желание
изменить что-то в настоящем или
будущем, или сожаление о
настоящем или будущем:
I wish I had more free time.- Жаль, что
у меня так мало свободного времени.

2) I wish + subject + could Выражает сожаление о


неспособности делать что-то:
I wish I could ride a bicycle. – Жаль,
что я не умею кататься на
велосипеде.
3) I wish + Past Perfect Выражает сожаление о
неспособности изменить что-либо в
прошлом: I wish I had listened to my
friend`s advice. – Жаль, что я не
послушал совета друга.

4) I wish + subject + would + bare Выражает желание изменить что-то в


infinitive будущем: I wish he would smoking. –
В такой конструкции после I wish Как я хотел, чтобы он бросил курить.
употребляется любое подлежащее
кроме I.
I wish he would study for his exams.
I wish Jane would go on holiday.
НО НЕЛЬЗЯ  I wish I would go on
holiday.

Collocations with Keep
Для выполнения упражнений в пункте 3 данного модуля, вам необходимо

keep an eye on something – присмотреть
keep something in mind – держать в голове, помнить
keep one`s temper - сдерживать себя, контролировать
keep one`s head - сохранять спокойствие
keep somebody company – составить кому-то компанию
keep track of something – идти в ногу с чем-либо, следовать чему-то, не
отставать
keep a secret – хранить секрет, держать в тайне
keep in touch – поддерживать связь, общение

Tasks
Ex. 1. Fill in the blanks with the correct form of the verb in brackets.
Ex. 2. Fill in: wish about the present, regret about the past, wish or polite
request implying dissatisfaction or lack of hope – then write what the people
wish.
