In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

His excellent deeds are still fresh in my mind, their fragrance pouring over all my memories of him. I searched my memories to select the most beautiful images of him so as to begin his rich story. Those images confused me; they are all adorned with his well-known smile, suffused with happiness and hope. I decided to begin with the first time I laid eyes on him, when he received me and two of my muhajireen brothers on one of those rugged mountain paths where a mans mettle is revealed. It was night-time. I met him face-to-face, shook his hand and embraced him. Shyness filled his countenance. I asked him: Are you Jameel al-Anbari? He replied in a reflective and humble tone: Yes... From there I became closely acquainted with the secret of this man who was a celebrity to all, both young and old. He was a young man who seemed to be in his thirties, although at that time he was no more than 21! His dignified personality, firm steps, amazing shrewdness and congenial company took possession of your soul and nourished your existence. He was truly a school for the next generation which will restore the glory and honor of the Ummah. Those who do not know Jameel will think that I am exaggerating in my description. Those who knew him, however, know that I am not doing him justice. If I gathered all the words that people said about his good qualities, it would fill volumes of books. He was a young Mujahid leader who memorized the Book of Allah. Jameel bin Nasser al-Anbari of the al-Anbarclan of the al-Muyaser tribe. He was from the generation that promised victory whose will, determination and resolve were disturbed by the leaders of the Cross.

From his earliest childhood, Jameel was distinguished by his great diffidence and high moral character. He would encourage virtue and prohibit vice and he and his brothers would storm places where wine was sold and other nests of depravity and corruption. He was, may Allah have mercy on him, easy going and good-hearted, merciful to the Believers and harsh upon the infidels. He studied Shariah in the Dar al-Hadeeth in Dammajand received great benefits from this. If those around him engaged in discussion in a matter pertaining to Shariah, he would not speak unless asked and, when he spoke on a Shariah matter, he spoke using evidence from the Book and the Sunnah. When he learned of his duty to his Ummah, he sought to apply what he had learned and began to look for a way to Afghanistan. The way was impossible for him, but these circumstances only increased his determination to search for a way again, until Allah made possible for him the road to Iraq. He set off for there, sacrificing all that was precious to him for the sake of reaching his destination, and joined the ranks of the Mujahideen in Iraq. Baghdad, Dar al-Rasheed, received battalions of men and youth of sacrifice. Jameel was in the vanguard of the Muhajir group. He hardened his determination and went forth to give the Americans a taste of his power. He battled like a determined knight and pounced like a ravenous lion. He was looking for an opportunity for martyrdom and asking for it since he arrived butone will never know in what land you will die. In view of his great intellect and wide understanding and awareness, his commanders appointed him as Security Officer for a group in al-Anbar. He was an excellent sniper and terrorized the American Crusaders. They were the moon that appeared unconcealed by the clouds; They are the stars in the dark of night, like missiles against the tyrants. Our hero assumed his trust and vowed to Allah that he would not betray Him, and would not betray His Messenger and not betray the Trust which he bore upon his shoulders, pledging an oath to the death on this difficult path which Allah had commanded him to follow.

Yes it was a difficult path, a path in which he confronted hostility from near and far, a path of trial and tribulation, but one that would earn him the complete pleasure of Allah Almighty and Most High. In one confrontation with the soldiers of the Cross and their apostate helpers, Jameel rushed forward hoping to meet Allah Almighty. Allah decreed that our hero was wounded. His brothers evacuated him and, because of the difficult situation in Iraq al-Habeeb at that time, he was transferred to Yemen for treatment. May Allah bless those who raised you the senses refuse not to praise you. In Yemen, Jameels wounds were mended and he prepared to return to the land of battle yet again, for the responsibility remained on his shoulders. He had sold his soul to his Maker and had divorced the things of this world. The roads to three fronts were opened to Jameel: Afghanistan, the Islamic Maghreb and Chechnya. Jameel resolved to go forth on Jihadbut to which front?!! By Allahs decree, a surprise knocked on Jameels door. 23 Mujahideen were delivered from the Political Security (Prison) in Sanaa. Jameel knew that those men who had been delivered would re-establish the Mujahideen Organization in the Arabian Peninsula. Jameel changed his face and remained in the Arabian Peninsula. He chose to support this Mujahid band because he knew it was his duty. He prepared for them a place of refuge and began with his brothers to lay the foundations for their work in the Arabian Peninsula. He, may Allah have mercy on him, was successful in organization and administration, so that he, may Allah have mercy on him, was directing and coordinating the path in the Arabian Peninsula to a number of fronts: Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq, etc May Allah have mercy on that noble face.. Our knight assumed command of Abyan-Aden and a number of other districts. He was a man of great zeal and proficiency in the tasks assigned to

him. He toiled into the night for the sake of service to the Deen of Allah, employing all his efforts and energies for Allah. A Posture of Sacrifice! Jameel, may Allah accept him, slept only a little because of the numerous tasks he was performing. One night, he was driving a car accompanied by one of the brothers. His eyes closed and the brother sitting next him noticed this and woke him. Jameel said, By Allah, I can not recall a day when I fell asleep while driving. Except today, because Im really worn out with this labor. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam, may Allah accept him, said: They think that principles are a game, a distraction or entertainment delivered by a man in an eloquent sermon replete with lovely phrases or written down in a book printed by a publisher and stored in libraries. This has never been the way of the men of Dawa. Because the enemies of Allah knew the danger Jameel posed to them and his great influence, the enemy staged military campaigns to search for him. Allah, however, delivered him from them on a number of occasions. He, may Allah have mercy on him, suffered grave trials. The tawagheet of the lackey Yemeni government imprisoned his father to pressure him, thinking that Jameel would kneel to them and deliver himself to them. However How could this be while the Quran was memorized in his heart, make him steadfast and guiding him!!! How could he kneel to them while the words of the Almighty were memorized in his heart: And incline not to those who do wrong, or the Fire will seize you; and ye have no protectors other than Allah, nor shall ye be helped. [Hud: 113]. The result of his patience was that Allah released his father from prison. The result of his patience was that Allah released his father from prison. Jameel did not seek knowledge so that he could eat the crumbs of this life and marry a woman. Rather he sought knowledge to conduct with it Jihad, and stand guard and prepare. For the sake of obtaining Allahs pleasure, he bore

every affliction and weariness. He did not bow to the Taghut and did not submit. He was proud like a lofty mountain, scraping the clouds and seeking after nobility. Thus are men of high zeal, thus are men of pride. They toil and they strive so that their Ummah can live in safety and comfort. Jameel was not satisfied to live in peace of mind while his Sunni Muslim sister lived in the grip of the malicious Rafidites in Iraq. Jameel was not going to savor life while children lay under the rubble of bombing in al-Majala. Jameel would not be satisfied with a life of ease and calm while al-Aqsa was in the hands of the Jews. Jameel was gallant, brave and zealous. He was merciful with the Believers and severe upon the unbelievers. A young man who was not sullen or coarse; He was not frowning, stingy or arrogant. He was magnanimous in friendship and generous; And smiling even in furious times. Jameel, may Allah have mercy on him, showed great concern for the wounded, despite all the work and administrative responsibility he had. When Jameel saw that many of his brothers had preceded him to martyrdom, this caused him pain. He began seeking martyrdom in every raid until one day he, may Allah accept him, went to one of the cities and, after lying in wait for one of the criminal tyrants, put on his explosive belt with the intention of conducting a martyrdom operation. His brothers refused to allow him to carry out the operation and after much effort they persuaded him to leave the job for someone else. His brothers objection weighed heavily on him and he was not able to conduct the operation. A few days before his martyrdom, in his last letter to Sheikh Abu Baseer, he requested permission to carry out a martyrdom operation against the enemies of Allah. So after long waiting and desire to meet Allah, his appointment with Shahada arrived in the form of an American air strike. At the time he was using the internet, following up on some operational arrangements and communications.

His brother Fawaz al-Sanani was killed along with him, may Allah accept them in Eternal Paradise. I wept for him since he did not know the fate; he did not drink from the troubled waters of life. My emotions are becalmed because he died the death of the noble, struggling between glory and pride. As if the blood of greatness flowed through his cold corpse; and the skin of a lion was made fragrant with musk. We cry for your loss, Jameel, but we have great hope for the coming generation that was raised on your rare character. A Message: To all who knew Jameel and all who have heard of him: Die for what Jameel died! Avenging him is the responsibility borne by all who are steadfast. Penned by: Salem al-Najdi
