The Danger of Hearing the Gospel

Ezekiel 3:17-18 (New International Version)

17

"Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for [a] his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. What we understand of the gospel is that it is Good News; that God offer humankind such a great salvation and it caused Him So much, God gave His own life for sinners like you and me. And if you come to Him in holy repentance and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, He will save you. The message of the gospel is believe and be saved. Now, thats good news. Friends, but do you know that theres a danger in hearing the gospel, when? The moment you hear it and then you refuse its truth. God will judge you by the outward sin committed and by the inward light rejected. Thats why I say, it is dangerous to hear the gospel. Another form of danger in hearing the gospel is when you keep its truth to your self. You will be held accountable for every truth you learned and heard. To him much is given, much is required (Luke 12:14). Every lesson you learned, every light revealed to you will be counted against you when you dont share it to others. God warned the prophet Ezekiel about these things. Considered the lesson and truth you heard as a message from God. Dear friends, God will not hold you accountable for the people of the whole world that would be beyond your control. He will hold you responsible within the circle of your family and friends. The prophet Ezekiel serves as a watchman for the entire house of Israel. You also serve as a watchman to your own house. Now that you are a Christian, you have a greater responsibility ever than before. You know that the hardest people to reach are the members of your own family. Its very hard to share the gospel to our family, because they know us very well, our secrets and who we really are, but how we live our lives matters most. We live our lives as a testimony to the transforming grace that God has shown and given us. If you are a genuine Christian, you will warn people, specially your family members and friends because if you dont, God will hold you accountable for their own blood. Let us make the Gospel of Jesus Christ really Good News to our lives and to others.

Sometimes we desperately want others to believe that we have changed, that we are so godly, more devoted, more spirit controlled. It is not necessary, however, for those who have been transformed by Christ to convince others of the difference, the change will be obvious. (Henry and Richard Blackaby)
