Introduction As platforms continue to evolve in the technology industry, a central concern for IT executives is implementing the right systems to maximize the return on their investments. Since labor costs dominate most IT budgets, selecting platforms with lower implementation and on-going management costs can significantly improve overall IT efficiency, and allow for the reallocation of resources from basic maintenance and operations to more innovative functions. Microsoft SQL Server is being used for a higher percentage of mission critical business applications. Since database management systems are an essential component for almost all mission critical transaction and decision support systems, Problem Diagnosis and Resolution time is crucial in its impact on overall systems availability and time to recovery. Microsoft SQL Server has several administration advantages over its counter parts with respect to the effort required to manage the database environment and the Total Cost of Administration. Microsoft SQL Server requires significantly less effort to install and maintain. SQL Server is a very capable database in terms of storage capacity and performance. The Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) has therefore considered it very timely to conduct a Training Programme on Microsoft SQL SERVER 2008 DATABASE ADMINISTRATION This course prepares the participants to administer complex SQL Server databases. Timings On the first day Registration will commence at 09:00 hrs i.e 12 September 2011. On all other days the programme timings will be from 09:45 17:15 hrs with breaks in between for tea and lunch. A Certificate of participation will be awarded to each participant on conclusion of the programme.

ESCI encourages participants to present case studies from their respective organizations. For the convenience of the outstation participants ESCI will facilitate pickup and drop from Airport / Railway station / Bus station, if travel plans are received at least 3 days in advance along with mobile number by FAX or email. The charges shall be paid by the participants directly to the cab ESCI provides complimentary accommodation a day prior to the commencement and after the conclusion of the programme. (check in at 12:00 hrs a day prior to the commencement & check out at 12:00hrs a day after completion of the programme). Overstay charges of @ Rs.750/- per day, per head will be charged. ESCI provides accommodation for spouse / children on prior intimation and subject to availability @ Rs. 250/- per day, per head during the course days. Charges (for accompanying person) for food / refreshments to be paid extra as per caterers rate. Family accommodation charges are to be sent along with the registration fee. Well developed information centre and Internet facilities are available to the participants free of cost.
