Faculty Worksheet for Online Course


Six-week model This worksheet is to aid in the development of an Barclay College online course. It will be the basis for the syllabus, course lectures, assignments, resources, grading guidelines, and other information for your class. Each class will be constructed from the information you provide on this worksheet. The worksheet is set up in a table format. If you download it onto your computer, you will be working in a table format. Hopefully this makes the process easier to navigate. OOT333 Old Testament Prophets A study of the books of Isaiah through Malachi (the "major" and "minor" prophets). Students will be introduced to the social, political, and religious conditions during the times of the prophets. Attention will be given to the purpose and structure of each book. The value of modern messages from ancient writers will be emphasized. Selected passages will be chosen for in depth study.

Course Objectives:

(Each week you will have several target objectives or goals for the week. These goals should be found in your course objectives in your syllabus. Please list the objective or goal for each week below (e.g., Recognize the defining elements of major theoretical models of family functioning). These should be ONE SENTENCE and answer what the student will be able to DO upon completion of the course.) Students will understand the scope of prophetic ministry. Week 1 Students will develop rhetorical and sociological perspectives for analyzing the impact of the Old Testament Prophets. Students will recognize current situations that reflect Week 2 problems recorded in the prophets. Students will sense the grief prophets felt for the people they Week 3 spoke to. Students will understand the significance of empathy for their audience. Students will explore academic research on Jeremiah. Students will appreciate the role of promise in prophetic Week 4 communication. Students will explore academic research on Jeremiah.
