Additional information
De Montfort University (DMU) offers excellent support for English language learning. If you have not met the English language requirements for your programme yet, we offer a range of English language courses designed to bring you up to the required level. For example, if you are 0.5 IELTS points below your programmes entry requirement, we will offer you a place on our pre-sessional English language course beginning on 16 August 2011. We will continue to support you with your English language learning throughout the duration of your programme at DMU: students can attend two to three hours of free English language courses per week. Please look at our website (www.dmu.ac.uk/englishlanguage) or feel free to contact us if you would like more information. DMU offers University-managed accommodation to all international students. Please apply early to make sure you have the best chance of securing a room. You can choose your accommodation online and select your room: have a look at our website for more information (www.dmu.ac.uk/accommodation). Please note that you can only select your accommodation online once you have accepted this conditional offer, so if you know you want to study with us, please email the International Admissions Office to accept your offer. DMU offers scholarships to international students. For more information, please see our website www.dmu.ac.uk/international DMU asks all overseas students for a pre-payment of 3000 of your tuition fees. This pre-payment reserves your place on the course at DMU and will help to demonstrate to the visa authorities that you are a committed student. Once you have accepted your offer, we will be able to send you your visa letter. You will need your student reference number which will be allocated once your application has been received at DMU. Paying by bank draft or cheque (5 working days to reach DMU account): please make payable to De Montfort University and send to Income Section, Finance Office, De Montfort University, The Gateway, Leicester. In accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have 7 days from the time we receive your acceptance and deposit in which to cancel your acceptance. DMU will be pleased to refund your pre-payment (minus 50 administration charge) if circumstances beyond your control prevent you from travelling to the UK to study, you fail your English language test or if your visa application is refused.
