It was 6:30 in the morning when we left Ateneo for Marilog.

Our section was divided into two jeepneys. Just like our first immersion, we were riding with the same set of classmates; yet, we were more prepared with jokes, stories, dance steps and jackets. The irony, however, is that the weather was much warmer than our first visit so the others werent able to use their coats. We were not the only section who went to the area, there were like other 4 sections. Thus, there were more jeepneys, a longer convoy that made the trip more amusing. Before heading, we stopped over Mintal to pick up the seedlings that we will be planting. This was one of the things were required to do. Each of us got 2 seedlingswhich make it four per pair. Surprisingly, we only had to pick one. But as one of the students said, are we creating a jungle in 10 years? As we arrived in the area, we planted the trees collectively. Some were excited and some were a bit fearful because of the bugs trying to welcome us. After the jungle planting, we went back to the covered court to prepared for a mini-program created by the 4th year Mass Communication students. It was a bit challenging, since there were no electricity in the area that made the microphone and speakers a bit hard to use. But that did not hinder the hosts since they have such loud voicesa quality Mass Communication undergraduates possess. While the other students were busy entertaining the audience, (which was comprised of the families assigned to each pair and there also some natives selling souvenirs), there were also students busy preparing the food that will be served after the program. There were also students assigned to document the whole immersiontaking photos and videos of how happy the town folks were. As part of the program, there were games prepared that required the audience and the students participationgames such as modified bring-me and trip-toJerusalem. All throughout, the covered court was filled with laughter and shoutingeveryone was participating. After the games comes the awarding and gift-giving to each family. As each pair give the token to their assigned family, you can see joy in each persons eyes. There were some who were touched by the gift, thus making them teary-eyed.

As soon as the program was finished, the food that we brought were given to each familymaking sure that everyone must get their plate full of different food. After serving the town folks, we have observing somethingthere is no viand left for us. Only 4 containers filled with rice. Still we manage to eat. How? We bought 6 cans of sardines at the sari-sari store across the road. It was another moment for us to remember. There we were able to test ourselves on how resourceful and flexible we were. Nobody complained, in fact everyone enjoyed. After our sumptuous lunch, we had to say goodbye to our families, which was quite sad for us, because we can never tell when we would be able to see them again. But what matters now is at least we left them with good memories.
