SUPPLEMENTAL HANDOUT: Turn-it-in.

com Information Guide Sheet Stanton College Preparatory School (2011-2012) / Knight TURN-IT-IN REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. 2. 3. 4. Open your internet browser; go to www.turnitin.com Click the link titled New Users in the upper left hand corner of the page. When asked what type of user you are, choose student from the drop-down list. On the next page, input the class ID for YOUR course and class period, and then enter the enrollment password.*

*NOTE: PLEASE find YOUR course and class; do not accidently register for the wrong class period.

Next, enter the email address that you will be using. This will also be your user ID. You will be asked to create a password...it must be between 6-12 characters and have at least one letter and one number. Write your User ID and password down so that you can remember it. Then, you will choose a secret question and answer in case you forget your user ID or password. Be sure to choose something you will remember easily! You will need to provide Turn-It-In with your first and last namebe aware that this is what I will see when I access your account! Use your correct first and last name, not a nickname. Please click yes to agree with the user agreement, and you will be ready to go!

HOW TO SUBMIT A PAPER TO TURN-IT-IN.COM* 1. Log in, and then click on your period. This will take you to the assignment list. If you click on the assignment name, you will see the instructions and due dates. To submit your paper, click the Submit icon next to the assignment name.

Check to make sure that your first and last names are correct. You will need to name your paperplease use the assigned title with your name in parentheses, then simply browse for where it is. When youve got the file you want, click the Submit button in the top left corner of the grey box. The site will preview the paper you are submitting- please check to make sure that this is the paper you want to turn in! You are not allowed to change or delete it once it is submitted. If it is the correct paper, click the blue Yes, submit button on the top of the grey box. The site will then give you a receiptplease write down the number, just in case. Also, the site will email you a copy of this receipt for you to access. PLEASE keep this information!

TURN-IT-IN POLICY (KNIGHT/2011-2012) A. B. C. D. All essays and typed assignments MUST be submitted to www.turnitin.com. Students must submit work to www.turnitin.com before the assigned 11:59 PM deadline. If work is not submitted to www.turnitin.com before the 11:59 PM deadline ALL POINTS WILL BE FORFEITED. If a student does not bring in a hard copy of their assignment, but submits the EXACT assignment to www.turnitin.com BEFORE ARRIVING TO CLASS, the instructor will use the electronic version of the work as a placeholder for ONLY 24 hours. The student must submit a hard copy of the work before the 24 hours expires. If a hard copy is not submitted a zero may be issued on the assignment. If the www.turnitin.com originality report reveals plagiarized or copied material (in part or whole), that student will forfeit all points connected with the assignment. An integrity referral will be given to the student as a result of this discovery.
