Began as a partnership, under the name Syarikat Union Motor Supply, headed by UMSH's present executive chairman Mr.Ng Geok Tian. Introduction of mechanical power transmission product division handling bearings, V-belts, Introduction of mechanical power transmission product division handling bearings, V-belts, transmission and conveyor chains, conveyor belting and gear reducers. This division becomes one of the core businesses of the group. Acquisition of ATU which lead to a significant stake in MKS, a company specialising in the supply of engineering products for the oil and gas industry in Malaysia. Establishment of after-sales and maintenance division catering to manufacturing and mining industries. Later, service offerings were expanded to include maintenance of dust collection systems for pollution control, incinerators and skimmer. Incorporated in Malaysia as N & N Holdings Sdn Bhd (a private limited company). Conversion of name from N & N Holdings Sdn Bhd to UMS Holdings Sdn Bhd and finally to present form. Establishment of wire mesh manufacturing plant (UMSM) in Rawang Integrated Industrial Park. The plant is a commercial success with 95% of its products sold to quarries and the remaining 5% exported to countries such as Singapore and Chinas SAR (Hong Kong). Converted into UMS Holdings Berhad (public company). Listed on KLSE Second Board.

Mr Ng Geok Tian @ Ng Chin Executive Chairman/NonIndependent Mr Ng Seng Kong Executive Managing Director/NonIndependent

He has been UMSHs Executive Chairman since 1988. He was one of the founders of UMS Holdings Berhad (UMS) while the company was still Syarikat Union Motor Supply, a partnership formed in 1941. His business acumen and experience of more than 50 years have contributed to the success of UMSH.

The son of Mr Ng Geok Tian @ Ng Chin and the brother of Ng Seng Huat, he is the managing director of UMSH since 1981. He is also a member of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee. Possessing a wealth of accounting experience, he is a Fellow member of the Chartered Association of the Certified Accountants from the United Kingdom and also a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants from United Kingdom. Mr Ng is currently the Executive Director of MKS Sdn Bhd, The brother of Mr Ng Geok Tian @ Ng Chin. he currently is the Deputy Managing Director of UMSH and has been in the Board since 1988. With more than 40 years of knowledge and experience in thi s industry, he is instrumental in creating and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers both locally and overseas. He currently holds directorships in certain UMSH subsidiary companies.

Mr Ng Siow Hwa @ Ng Kok Hwa Executive Deputy Managing Director/NonIndependent Mr Ng Sing Kun @ Ng Seng Kuon Executive Director/NonIndependent Mr Ng Sing Huat Executive Director/NonIndependent

Mr Ng Sing Kun @ Ng Seng Kuon has been the Finance Director of the Company since 1988. He manages the financing activities of UMSH. With many years of experience in the banking industry, he is able to build a good relationship with local banks. He currently holds directorship in certain subsidiary companies within UMSH.

He holds the position of Engineering Director in UMSH since 1988. A graduate in Mechanical Enginee ring from the University of Malaya, he joined UMS group in 1981. He currently oversees the engineering activities of UMSH. Mr Ng currently holds directorship in certain UMSH subsidiary companies and several other private limited companies.

Encik Noordin bin Mohd. Noor NonExecutive Director/Independent

Encik Noordin is an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company since 1995 and is the chairman of the Audit Committee, Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee. A graduate from the Royal Melbourne Institute Technology School of Accountancy, he is a member of the Australian Society of Accountants. Encik Noordin began his career as a Senior Administration Officer in Bank Negara and quickly rose up through the ranks to top management positions. In the course of his career, he has held many top management positions, notably in financial institutions. Currently he is the Director of ASM Asset Management Sdn Bhd and also holds directorship in a few private limited companies. Mr Ng Peng Huah, is an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company since 1995. He is a member of the Audit Committee, Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee. A graduate of the Western Australian Institute of Te chnology, Perth, Australia, he is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. Mr Ng has worked for the Public Works Department of Perth, Western Australia and Associated Motor Industries (M) Sdn Bhd, a motor assembly p lant for Ford vehicles. Other positions which he has held include Finance Director/Company Secretary for Harris Semiconductor (M) Sdn Bhd, Harris Advanced Technology (M) Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of Harris Corporation Florida, USA and Franklin Group of Companies).
