Fusion Overflow Forming

Invented by Corning in 1960 s. Our proprietary fusion
technology is scalable to produce large-Gen substrates

Fusion draw width is increased

to allow large substrates to be formed

Float Process
First developed by Pilkington in Late 1959 Molten glass formed on a tin bath. Float glass requires polishing to achieve thin thickness & uniformity.

Float Process
Over 90% of the world sheet glass is produced using this process. s The glass and the tin do not mix because the glass is highly viscous and the tin is very fluid. This allows for the surface between the two materials to be extremely flat. The typical thickness of glass is 2mm to 19mm.
