Professional Experience: HTSU Chicago and GLT India Duration: August-09 to till date Role: Senior System Analyst Project: Reference Data Maintenance Facility-v3.0 (RDMF v3.0) Reference data consists of business rules, control and chart-field data which ar e required to perform complex financial calculations. This project was envisione d to manage and maintain reference data in Reference data maintenance facility a nd then migrate it to subscribers such as GL Live, BCV and RDR, using PeopleSoft and UNIX technologies. Once the arrangements and financial transactions are mad e available in the system, the reference data is applied for financial calculati ons. RDMF is a part of the Global Finance Change Programme s (GFCP) vision; the deliver y of Finance owned and managed global standards and integrity of the data used t o drive the reporting processes at the lowest level. The overarching goal for re ference data is to achieve a globally scalable solution for the definition, main tenance and distribution of reference data to support finance transactional proc essing within the FTP Platform with a secure and time efficient mechanism. Major Accomplishments: Involved in all the phases of RDMF development cycle (Analysis, Design and Codin g, and Implementation and Support) Successful implementation of RDMF v1.0 and RDMF v2.0 for various regions in the

world Major performance improvement to already existing subscribe processes by develop ing an unique algorithm using PeopleCode Component development to achieve comprehensive control over published data. Built a functionality to provide audit trail of all reference data changes Minimized coding and testing efforts by building a re-usable program (for both p ublish and subscribe) runs iteratively during entire batch with multiple concurr ent instances at a time using PeopleSoft Job/Schedule Job-Set mechanism Reference data gets transferred to three consumers (General Ledger, Reference Da ta Repository and Business Control Values) including a mainframe based system Completed Analysis and Proof of Concept for RDMF version 4.0 HTSU Chicago and GLT India Duration: April-08 to July-09 Role: System Analyst Project: Rules Maintenance Facility (RMF) The HSBC Group Finance System s Architecture consists of a number of applications ranging from the collection of results from the Source Systems, to feeding exter nal Group reporting, and facilitating internal Management Reporting. The FTP Platform plays a central role within the Finance Systems Architecture as it includes the Book of Record (General Ledger) and Arrangement Data where standard ization of financial accounting is performed. In order to enable the FTP platfo rm to provide pertinent financial data to other downstream External Systems, it is necessary to provision for the extraction, transformation and eventual load o f the data into downstream systems in a format or structure that they can recogn ize and process. RMF is a necessary component to support interfacing of downstream application. It is a rules repository that houses Business rules and Metadata which will be t ransmitted to the Arrangement Ledger Extract (ALE) engine in order to apply thes e rules for selection, mapping and validation requirements. Major Accomplishments: Developed Field Definition Component where a finance user defines the fields and their characteristics/attributes. Fields are the basis of development of Logica l Records Developed the Logical Record (LR) Definition page where the user defines the LR. The LR represents the physical file layout on the mainframe and is built using the fields defined on the Field Definition page. LR s are used within RMF as par t of the Rule Set Definition and in the Join Definition Developed the Join Definition Page where the user is able to join two LR s in orde r to access additional fields not found in the Source LR. These additional fiel ds can be used in the Target Definition when assigning values to the Target LR. The Join Definition is comparable to an SQL join where the fields/columns to be joined are defined. The Target Definition page is where the user defines the direction for populatin g each field in the Target LR. When this page is displayed all fields in the Ta rget LR are pre-filled with like fields from the Source LR and the user is requi red to indicate how each of the fields will be populated when processed in the A LE. Apart from above mentioned details, major contribution is made in design of othe r components like Interface Definition, Rule Set ID, Rule Definition and several Processes like Rules validation and Rules Copy HTSU Chicago and GLT India Duration: August-08 to March-09 Role: System Analyst Project: Rules Table Maintenance (RTM) RTM is a PeopleSoft Utility where finance maintains Rules. Rules are validated a gainst platform standard target values and Approved for Production. RTM sends e

xtract to mainframe in flat file format where they are accessed by ARE Major Accomplishments: Developed RTM Maintenance Audit Report which generates an audit trail of changes made to Rule in a day Developed RTM Platform Validation Report which checks the consistency and validi ty of a Rule against available Reference Data in the system Redesigned Rules Data Maintenance Page for Performance improvements and gained a major breakthrough in performance of the page Developed a Scheduling Process to break above mentioned Audit Report and Validat ion Report processes into multiple threads so as to generated individual report for each role that could be posted to multiple Users which belongs to that role HTSU Chicago and GLT India Duration: August-06 to March-08 Role: System Analyst Project: Enterprise General Ledger The Finance Transformation Platform (FTP) is a multi-component integrated system that provides financial control with a common data repository for regulatory an d management, and other financial reporting. FTP is the core IT platform for the Global Finance Change Programme. The vision for the platform is to optimize the timeliness, quality, transparency, capacity and cost in HSBC financial reportin g, delivering a strategic platform for Finance. Unique in the financial services industry, the FTP includes a new operating char t of accounts, multi-GAAP support, multi-currency and backdate capability as wel l as sophisticated multidimensional reporting, both standard and ad-hoc. This co re computer system is capable of processing tens of millions of transactions dai ly and providing consolidated results with a click of the mouse. The FTP provide s an auditable, automated, single version of the financial truth. The system can do in hours what used to take Finance weeks; can reconcile with clicks of the m ouse financial information that previously required hundreds of spreadsheet uplo ads and downloads. When fully deployed, the FTP will be utilized by HSBC s global Finance staff and community worldwide. Enterprise General Ledger is a part of overall FTP Platform and provides a Gener al Ledger Chartfields composed of Business unit, Book Code, Account, Product, Co st Center, Source Systems, Affiliate and Customer Type. It creates and immediate ly posts journal entries based upon summary (non-arrangement) balances for Multi -currency (conversion, translation and revaluation) and the P&L offsets, Consoli dation and elimination, Period end processes both (1) year-end and (2) interim (daily). Major Accomplishments: Involved in implementation and support cycles for PeopleSoft General Ledge Involved in Custom Journal Entry Module: Manual Journal Processing and High Spee d Journal Processing for HSBC specific Journal Entry requirements Project: Internal Transaction Matching Internal transactions can be defined as transactions entered into where both par ties are HSBC Reporting (Business) Units. The results of these transactions must be eliminated for purposes of consolidated reporting. The identification and co rrection of internal transactions is a costly and a labor intensive task that im pacts the close schedule and compromises the integrity of consolidated financial reports if not done effectively. Major Accomplishments: Designed and developed a major process of ITM module: Internal Transaction Match ing Process which matches the transaction at instrument and ledger level automat ically and filters them out from rest of unmatched transactions Designed and developed Manual Match Override page to override the matching pairs found by ITM Process Designed ITM Aged Transaction Notification Process Report to notify users about aged unmatched transactions

Project: Reconciliation Responsibility Matrix The objective of the Reconciliation Responsibility is to clearly identify respon sibility and the status of the reconciliation of general ledger balances to thei r sources. It involves generating GAAP view balances for all Chartfield Combina tions, applying GAAP filters to eliminate rows that are not required, Calculatio n of Date of Last Activity and Online Pages for assigning responsibility to a Ch artfield Combination. Major Accomplishments: Designed and developed a major process for RRM module: Reconciliation Responsibi lity Process which calculates End of Day Balance from Ledger Balances and loads them to RRM tables and makes them Available to users for assigning Responsibilit ies Also worked upon PeopleSoft Pages associated with RRM like Reconciliation Matrix , Approver and Preparer Status, Mass Status Update page
