It is very important for cyclists to observe the correct dietary habits in order to keep themselves physically fit, and to ensure success in competitions. The diet of a sports enthusiast must be varied: it should be composed of a wide range of foods, and contain plenty of raw or cooked fruit and vegetables. On average, a cyclist consumes more than 5000 kcal a day. Anyone who takes part in events lasting over an hour should be careful to replenish his energy with meals or snacks which are rich in carbohydrate. Meals should be equally spaced apart, and the intake of total daily energy (TDE) should be divided into five parts, with three main meals and two snacks, to ensure that the athlete is never over-full, but still giving him the correct nutritional resources. The following are vital foodstuffs for any cyclist: - Carbohydrates: these should make up about 60% of the TDE. 80% of TDE is supplied by pasta, bread, biscuits, crisp-bread, rice and sweet-corn, while the remaining 20% comes from sugar, honey, jam, sweets and fruit. - Proteins: these should represent about 12-15% of the total daily consumption of calories. Foods rich in protein include milk and dairy produce, meat, fish, eggs, pulses and cereals. - Fats: these should make up between 28 and 30% of the total daily energy intake. They can be obtained from milk, cheese, meat, salami, eggs, fish, dried fruit, or various dressings. - Water: liquid intake (including water and special energy drinks rich in sugars and minerals) should be plentiful and distributed throughout the day, including when actively practising sport.

Die Anwendung richtiger Ernhrungsgewohnheiten seitens der Radfahrer ist eine unabdingbare Voraussetzung, um die gute krperliche Verfassung beizubehalten und Erfolg im Wettkampf zu haben. Die Ernhrung des Sportlers muss abwechslungsreich sein, also unterschiedliche Nahrungsmittel beinhalten, viel Obst und Gemse, ob in roher oder gekochter Form. Durchschnittlich verbraucht ein Radfahrer ber 5000 kcal pro Tag. Wer an Radveranstaltungen teilnimmt oder Strecken von mehr als 1 Stunde Lnge bewltigt, muss besonders auf Nachschub mit kohlehydratreichen Mahlzeiten und Snacks sorgen. Die Verteilung der Mahlzeiten muss ausgewogen sein und die Gesamttagesenergie sollte auf 5 Mahlzeiten, davon 3 Haupt- und 2 Zwischenmahlzeiten aufgeteilt werden, um den Athleten nicht zu belasten und gleichzeitig fr die richtige Nhrstoffzufuhr zu sorgen. Nachstehend werden die Nahrungsmittel aufgelistet, die fr einen Radfahrer ein MUSS sind: - Kohlehydrate: sie mssen ca. 60% des gesamten Tagesenergieanteils ausmachen. 80% dieser Energie wird durch Nudeln, Brot, Kekse, Zwieback, Reis, Mais bereitgestellt, die restlichen 20% durch Zucker, Honig, Marmelade, Sigkeiten, Obst. - Proteine: sie mssen 12-15% der gesamten Kalorienaufnahme des Tages darstellen. For the cycling enthusiast, there is no better place than Italy to spend a holiday on two wheels. There are thousands of routes throughout the country, rich in history, culture and natural scenery. You will find so much to discover, while enjoying a holiday full of adventure, interest and wonderful memories. For those who like cycling on rough roads, we would like to suggest a medium-difficult route on Monte Giarolo in Piedmont, starting and finishing at Cantalupo Ligure (Al). In Lombardy, there is a lovely route covering 43 km, taking you from Mantova to Peschiera del Garda. If you are in the Veneto region, you definitely should not miss the wonderful mountain-bike tour of the three lakes: Lago dAjal - Lago di Pianozes - Lago di San Vito. In Liguria, we can recommend the routes through the Ligurian Mountains in the Province of Savona and in the Bormida Valley, such as the ride from Rocchetta di Cairo to Cengio along the Bormida nature trail, which is excellent for day-trips and cycle-tourism. In Tuscany, there are some interesting, and not too strenuous routes, starting from Pisa. You can either ride to the mouth of the Arno or towards the Calci Valley. In Lazio, the ride along the Way of the Monasteries is difficult, but very evocative due to the many religious and historic sights along the route. The Adriatic Riviera in Emilia Romagna, which offers 8,000 km of cycle routes, is ideal territory for cycling enthusiasts. There are many different types of itinerary: the Coast and Hill routes departing from Riccione, the Gran Fondo Nove Colli to Cesenatico (FC), or the Gran Fondo del Sale from Cervia (RA). If you go down into the Marche, the homeland of cycle-tourism, you will find some wonderful routes, from Monte Conero with its fantastic mountain-bike rides to a circular route right by the sea. Abruzzo offers some delightful itineraries right inside the Maiella Park. These are routes for every sort of level of expertise, from easy riding along the Forchetta Pass to the Block Haus ascent for the well-trained. Further down, in Calabria, there are some charming and not too difficult cycle rides leaving from Tropea or Capo Vaticano. These include tracts on rough roads through unspoilt countryside, leading to places of exceptional beauty such as the uplands of Poro and Santa Maria, both situated in the Capo Vaticano Municipality. Finally, in Campania, dont lose a series of wonderfull natural cycle rides in the Cilento National Park, ideal for road bike and mtb. //34

Fr einen Radfahrer gibt es fr einen Radurlaub kein schneres Land als Italien. Viele, ja unzhlige Radwege fhren durch unsere Regionen, Geschichte, Kultur und Landschaften. Alle warten darauf bei einem Urlaub mit Abenteuerflair, starken Gefhlen und schnen Erinnerungen entdeckt zu werden. Allen, die gerne Schotterwege befahren, empfehlen wir im Piemont eine Strecke mit mittlerem Schwierigkeitsgrad auf den Monte Giarolo, mit Start und Ankunft in Cantalupo Ligure (Al). In der Lombardei gibt es einen 43 km langen wunderschnen asphaltierten Radweg, der von Mantua nach Peschiera del Garda fhrt. Wenn Sie sich in Venetien aufhalten, versumen Sie nicht die 3-SeenRundfahrt mit dem Mountainbike. Ajal-See Pianozes-See - San Vito-See. In Ligurien empfehlen wir Ihnen die Strecken in die ligurischen Berge in der Provinz Savona und ins Bormida-Tal, wie zum Beispiel der fr Rad- und Wandertouristen geeignete Weg von Cairo nach Rocchetta Cengio, quer durch die schne Natur des Bormida-Tales. In der Toskana gibt es von Pisa aus interessante und nicht sehr anspruchsvolle Strecken: Auf dem Fahrrad zur Flussmndung des Arno und Richtung Calci-Tal. In Latium fhrt eine Radtour ausgehend von Fiuggi zu den Klstern, die Strecke ist zwar anspruchsvoll, aber wegen der religisen und historischen Funde sehr reizvoll. Auch die Adriatische Riviera der Emilia Romagna mit ihren acht tausend Kilometer Radwegen ist ein ideales Ziel fr leidenschaftliche Radfahrer. Fr Fahrradtouristen gibt es viel zu entdecken: Hgeln und Meer mit Abfahrt in Riccione, das Langstreckenrennen Neun Hgeln in Cesenatico (FC) oder das Langstreckenrennen Gran Fondo del Sale von Cervia (RA). In den Marken, DIE Region fr Fahrradtouristen, erwarten Sie fantastische Radwege auf den Monte Conero mit atemberaubenden Mountainbikestrecken steil ber dem Meer. Die Abruzzen bieten beeindruckende Radwege mitten im Majella-Nationalpark fr jede sportliche Kondition, vom weniger anstrengenden Radweg zum Forchetta-Pass bis zum Aufstieg auf das Blockhaus fr wirklich Durchtrainierte. Weiter sdlich, in Kalabrien gibt es einige sehr eindrucksvolle und nicht allzu anstrengende Strecken von Tropea oder Capo Vaticano aus, wo sich Schotterwege mit unberhrtem Grn abwechseln und Orte von seltener Schnheit erreicht werden, wie die Hochebene von Poro oder Santa Maria, ein Ort in der Gemeinde Capo Vaticano. Schleissich, in Kampanien gibt es die fantastische Wanderwege im Nationalpark von Cilento, ideal zum Radfahren oder Mountainbiken.
