Reminder: The Library will be CLOSED on Monday, Sept. 5 for Labor Day. A Day in the Life of Farmington Town Photo Day Sunday, September 11 is the ten- year anniversary of 9/11. The Goodwin Library would like to honor the memory of this event by asking the community to take one digital photo of your Farmington, something that represents what is important to you in this town. It can be anything from a photo of your family, your home, or garden to your favorite local restaurant, walking trail or quiet spot. We would like everyone who can to become involved in this project- adults, children, veterans, town officials, the whole community. Please take a digital photo with a minimum of 300 dpi and e-mail it with your title, e-mail address, name and phone number to goodwinprograms@gmail.com A release form will be available online and at the library for you to fill out. Please note that Children and Teens need a parents signature on the release form. We will be collating and presenting these photos through future programs. The deadline for the photos is Sept. 30. Call 755-2944 ext. 2 for more info. New Library Hours Please note these important changes in our hours. The library will be open on Thursdays from 12:00-5:00 PM and CLOSED on Fridays. Gardeners Roundtable Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 6:00 PM Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 6:00 PM On August 14, the gardeners enjoyed a bountiful and tasty meal as the group celebrated its 2nd annual Harvest Dinner. Each member brought a dish (or two!) made with ingredients from their garden. We will be planning our coming year at our September meeting, so please bring in your ideas for speakers we would like to hear and subjects we would like to explore. Past ideas have included living off the grid, organic pest management, greenhouse construction, etc. If you are a gardener or would like to be, come to the meeting and meet the other members. This movie also features Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett. Joe Wright directs it with a brilliant soundtrack by the Chemical Brothers and stunning cinematography. Dont miss it on our big screen! We have scheduled other exceptional films for our monthly screenings. Check out the film society blog at www.goodwinlibrary.com . Be sure to explore the new DVD section of the movies available for checkout including our favorite new movie Source Code (which

was too expensive for the Film Society to show, alas). Adult Poets and Writers Group Sept.12 at 6:00 PM Oct.3 at 6:00 PM A huge Thank- You to all those who attended our first Open Mike at Hay Day.
