Nespresso is making his Machines worst in order to ruin the coffee experience of competitors capsules
The present document regards the NexPod empty compatible Nespresso capsules.
Alice Allison SA is also selling a new full Nespresso compatible capsule. This new filled capsule is now sold from the greatest discount Supermarket chain in Switzerland. Nexpod develops, manifacture and produce Nespresso compatible capsules for coffee roaster and supermarket chains. The new Nexpod full capsule is compatible with all the Nespresso Machines on the market.

Nespresso has already made two modifications of his machines in order to make water flow in the coffee and in order to let the competitor capsules stuck in the machines. Modification 1: The water trick Making water flow in the espresso cup in order to ruin the espresso quality. Nespresso has introduced last year (spring 2009) a new brewing unit for the Citiz machines, with a special technical construction in order to convoy in the cup the water which is passing outside from the capsule. So if the capsule is not perfectly tight the espresso will be of less quality. The previous machine mechanics were build in order to let this water flow in the exhausted capsules collecting unit, so the espresso was not affected from leakages from the capsule. How does the water trick work? In the following photograph you see the two water outlet of an essenza machine built after June 2010: The one on the left is the one with the water trick. You see that the inferior part is leading water in the cup. The one on the right is the water outlet of an essenza machine built before. You see how the inferior part let the flow back and not in the cup.

Modification 2: Making the competitors capsules stuck in the machine. Nespresso has made a technical modifications on all the Essenza and Citiz Machines and possibly all other models sold after July 2010 in order to make impossible/difficult the ejection of the capsules from the machine. The aluminium capsules ere extracted well, but all plastic capsules got stuck in the machine and can only be extracted with great difficulty. This modification has the sole scope of disturbing/making impossible the coffee preparation with Nespresso compatible capsules. Nespresso has modified the mechanic of the machines since a couple of month. (The plastic pieces with the modification that I have seen have a production mark of June 2010, so the modified machine are on the shelf since this summer, maybe July).

The modification has the sole scope of letting the Plastic capsules stuck in the machine, and is not affecting the Nespresso original Capsules. The Alu capsule gets deformed from the "blades" that Nespresso has built in the new brewing chamber, but the plastic capsule gets stuck and can only be removed using a screwdriver or a tool, with some damaging and injuring risks in this operation. Please note the all the machines are produced for Nespresso for all the brands in the Eugster Frismag Company http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugster/Frismag .

See below some photographs on how to recognise a Machine with the modification. I enclose here a schematically drawing which show how the brewing chamber was modified.

Unfortunately I have not made photographs of the modified chamber yet, but could do this for next week if you are interested. To complement the information is interesting to know that Nespresso has introduced last year (spring 2009) a new brewing unit for the Citiz machines, with a special technical construction in order to convoy in the cup the water which is passing outside from the capsule. previous machine mechanics were build in order to let this water flow in the exhausted capsules collecting unit, so the espresso was not affected from leakages from the capsule. This modification has the sole scope of making the coffee quality of compatible capsules worst. The competitor capsules in fact do not have the possibility to have the gasket on the capsule like Nespresso has. (Recently Patented Nespresso Solution). You are also welcome to visit me in my laboratory I could show you all of the "secrets" of the Nespresso machines. For further information call Alice Allison SA 0041 91 827 43 80. If the mechanics of your machine looks like the following, it is made to let the NexPod, ECC and Sara Lee capsules stuck. This type of mechanics was on the market after June 2010. It has also the water modification in order to ruin the espresso if the capsule is not 100% tight.
