WEEK THREE, DTS CONTINUES ON!
The third week of DTS is in full tow as all the students prep themselves to hear about God’s voice from our
gracious guest Debby Wiley. This week is bound to be full of numerous exciting adventures once again!
We’ve made it this far, the DTS is
pushing through and growing strong! This
week on schedule, Debby Wiley came to
the school to speak on Hearing God’s
Voice. Whether it be seeking God stronger
in your life, learning to hear Him in a new
way, or purely trying to hear God at all,
every student presses in to find God in a
new way this week.
The lessons Debbie taught us in
listening for God’s voice are priceless tools
I’m sure we’ll all use in years to come.
Throughout the week, we prayed for
people, asking God for specific direction
for what they needed, interceded into
situations we didn’t fully know about, and

Thursday’s food
pantry was a great
success. Three stations
of students waited
eagerly to help all they
could!
learned to hear God in ways we hadn’t
known before.
Bottom line, hearing God’s voice is not
a formula. He doesn’t always talk to us in
the same ways, just like we don’t always
seek him the same way. We learned that
God has always been a speaking God and
that life in the Kingdom should never be
boring. Whether we recognize that God is
faithful or not, He is still faithful; he doesn’t
need us to be. We also learned that in
order to LISTEN you have to be SILENT
(both use the same letters).
Later on Monday, we did a lesson on
the different ways God speaks. Whether it
be through a still small voice, an audible

one, through music, nature, your
conscience, or a numerous amount
of other ways, God speaks to all His
people very differently.
Tuesday, we touched a bit on
the different things that get in the
way of hearing God’s voice. All the
students worked together to think of
a long list that gets in their way, and
we sure thought of a bunch!
Wednesday, we learned about shouldn’t reduce your God time to
greatness, citing Romans 5:9-11.
Then we talked about three
important questions used to discern
God’s voice. What I think I’m
hearing, does it honor the Lordship
of Christ? Does it line up with or
contradict scripture? Does it
produce the fruit of the spirit in our
lives? Good questions, good
questions.
Thursday, the group did a
meditation on Ephesians 3:14-21.
Afterwards, we talked about
Debbie’s list she goes through to
make major decisions. Such fruitful
knowledge came from these couple
of lessons.
Friday, our last lesson, was
packed with great stuff from God
through Debbie. It was like a
wonderful package of God-
goodness. We talked about the
importance of a strong prayer life,
sacrificing your desires for God’s
help discern Him. Then, we talked
about the importance of spending
daily time with God and how you
legalism. Worship God in your time
alone with Him, even if it just means
praising Him for who He is.
Concentrate on God, get sin out of
the way, then get down to God’s
heart, where all our problems find
absolution.
This week was jam packed with
great stuff. It all flew by so fast, is
was almost overwhelming! We
finished up the week with a hot
chocolate ministry Friday night, and
another kickin’ dance party on
Saturday night. We all can’t wait for
next week!
The
amount of people in
our DTS and at the school
who are good at piano is
almost ridiculous. Very often you
can here a beautiful piano
serenade by Julie, Jaison,
Jana, Hannah, or any
numerous student or
staff.
