LETS BUILD TOGETHER!

YOUTH DEMOCRACY PROJECT ACTION 1.3

SUMMARY:
Let`s build together project is a participative democracy project, implemented by promoters from Romania, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic and Turkey. The activities of the project will be held in period 18-30 October 2011, in BaileOlanesti. The project is meeting the needs of participants for knowing the mechanisms of participative democracy and for actively participate in the democratic life of local and European community. The specific objectives of the project are: developing among young people a capacity of participation, as active citizens, in the democratic system and a positive attitude of youth toward the mechanisms of the participative democracy promoting among young people, active- participative attitudes toward the mechanisms of the participative democracy fostering the solidarity feeling among youth and promoting mutual understanding between young people improving the the quality of the systems supporting youth activities by developing resources centres at each partner level, centresspecialised on participative democracy democracy Creating a European network of organisations which are actively promoting the youth active participation. The project will have a duration of 15 months,it will be implemented in the period 1/06/2011 30/08/2012 and will involve a number of 40 young people, 8 facilitators and 2 trainers, specialised in participative democracy. The activities of the project will be: Organising meetings with youth from the local communities in the purpose of finding solutions for the active participation Making a video of the participation Building an ideal village where the young people will experiment the concepts and the mechanisms of participative democracy Realising a forum-theatre play which will develop participative competences among youth Structured dialogue with the local authorities and factors with

responsibility in youth policies. For implementing the activities described, we will use a range of methods of non-formal education as: energisers, debates, gallery tour, roles play, simulation games, open-space, forum theatre, world coffee, structured dialogue, photo voice, film voice.

Participants:
3 young people+ 1 leader or 4 young people (not older than 30 years) Age of the participants:17-30 years old.

Preparatory activities:
the participants will prepare a meeting with the young people who don`t participate directely in the project, and after this meeting the local group will make a video dedicated to active participation and a meeting with the local responsables with youth policies, folowed by a documentary regarding the solutions for youth participation to the community`s life. The 2 results produced

after that meetings (the video and the document of the active participation) will be prepared for the project activity which will be held in Romania. a description of the participative democracy mechanism from each country preparation of the intercultural day

Programme:
October 18,2011:Arrival of the participants. October 19, 2011: Project launch ( 1 day): The project launch will be held in the Conference room of Grand Hotel Sofianu, from Rm Valcea October 20, 2011: Workshop- Gallery`s tour ( 1 day) The participants will be placed in different chalanging situations to discover the mechanisms of participative democracy and how they are functioning. Each participants group will start from the presentation of the participative democracy mechanisms in their own countries, then they will know these aspects in the partner counties too. The activity will consist in power point presentations , quizzes and debates. Wiil be realized a virtual tour of the participative democracy mechanisms from Europe as a power point presentation. The young people will be familiar with how is functionning the European democratic system. October 21st, 2011: European citizenship link with the participative democracy (1 day). Through that activity, the young people will be awared that they are European citizens and will be encouraged to reflect upon the European subjects and to be involved in the construction of actual and future Europe. Starting from those aspects of European citizenship, youth will be encouraged to be activelly involved in the community`s life and actually they will learn from concrete situations how they can activelly participate to the local community`s life. October 22 23, 2011: Build together (2 days) Within this activity, during 2 days, supported by the 2 YiA trainers and facilitators, the participants will build an ideal villag. In building the ideal village , the participants will use different non-formal education methods as: workshops, debates, intercultural games, role plays. In building the ideal village, the youth will practically experiment the participative democracy and active citizenship concepts. October 24, 2011: Intercultural day (1 day) Within this activity will be organized a range of cultural manifestations specific to the traditions of partner groups, being used non-formal educayion methods as: street animation. In Zavoi Park from Rm Valcea, will be organized a parade of the dance and traditional cloths from the partner countries. During this activity, the young people will have the opportunity to present their own customs and to teach other young people traditional dances and to interact with the citizens who are in the park.

October 25, 2011: Debate: Active involvement in the democratic life of the community (1 day) This activity will start with a study visit to Rm Valcea city hall and young people will be able to find out how is functionning the participative democracy at local level. After this visit will be organized a debate to Antim Ivireanu Library from Rm valcea with young people who are not direct participants in the project, youth workers, youth leaders. October 26 28, 2011 Let`s build together! (3 days) This activity will be implemented by non-formal education method: forum theatre. Thus, during 3 days, the participants will prepare and will have 2 performance of forum theatre play Let`s build together!. The forum theatre play Let`s build together will be performed 2 times: one time in the Central Park from Baile Olanesti and one time in Zavoi park in Rm Valcea. The play will be recorded and will represent one of the concrete results of the project. October 29, 2011: Round table with public local and national authorities (1 day) With the help of non formal education method word caffe, in a non formal frame at Esenze caffe in Rm valcea, will be organized a structurated dialogue with local and national representatives of authorities. October 30, 2011: Final evaluation (1 day) The activity will have as goal the final evaluation of the project activities and the mid term evaluation of the project

1.Video-clip about youth participation. 2.Play-theater forum. 3.Book with solutions of participation. 4.Web page of the project.

Place for activities: BAILE OLANESTI-Valcea,Romania. Baile Olanesti is a spa verry famous for mineral springs.A lot of people come for drink mineral water and spent the hollidays.

Baile Olanesti is situated at 18 km north-ouest of Ramnicu Valcea and at

200 km north-ouest of Bucharest. ACCOMODATION:


The participants will be accomodates at SUPREM hotel(see www.hotel-supremolanesti.ro) in double rooms or triple rooms. The project will cover all meals and cofeea breaks.

TRANSPORT
We will cover 70% of travel cost from your place to the place of acomodation. Please look for cheapest plane tickets. The romanian national agency was approved the maximum travel cost: Naples-Bucharest: 225 Euro Rome-Bucharest:170 Euro Valencia-Bucharest:220 Euro Madrid-Bucharest:250 Euro Istanbul-Bucharest:230 Euro Prague-Bucharest:220 Euro Miskolc-Valcea:200 Euro. From Bucharest to Baile Olanesti the last train or bus is at 19.30 P.M. The local transport from Bucharest to Baile Olanesi cost 30 Euro(you will pay 9 euro) We can organise transfer airport,but will cost 50 euro for 1 persson(here you will pay 15 euro)

Important notice:
Is important to finnish the selection of the participants for project till 31 July to have time to buy cheapest plane tickets.
