INTRODUCTION

Manpower is not a homogeneous resource individual varies in the innate abilities they possess, motivation, in education, training and experience: again work in isolation but are influenced by social and group interaction. Management of human resources and manpower planning must recognize all these qualities. A formal statement defines manpower planning as aiming to maintain and improve the ability of the organization to achieve corporate objectives through the development of strategies designed to enhance the contribution of manpower at all times in the foreseeable future; the tasks of manpower planning can be broken down into the following. 1. Collection and interpretation of relevant information about manpower and development of measures of manpower utilization. 2. 3. Forecast of recruitment and selection requirements. The use of techniques of result in more effective allocation of work. 4. Research into technological, social and individual factors which affect the contribution of manpower, and identification of the influence of objective and style of management. 5. Identification of education and training requirements.
